TERRI'S FIGHT
(Thread 5 - November 5-7)
(Link back to Thread 4 - Nov. 3-4)

.

Contained in Thread 4:

.

Resource links to search business and criminal records in Florida, info on special guardian ad litum meeting (attempt to change qualifications?), Michael Schiavo parody, link to referral letter for Dr. Hammersfahr to the Nobel committee, transcript to Abrams Report closing commments - Nov.3, e-mail address for Larry King Live, Florida statutes on guardianship and some damning statements against Michael.

.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

I know we're all getting tired, but we have to hang in there. This isn't just Terri's fight anymore. It is our fight too. To everyone who has worked tirelessly to gather information, write letters, make phone calls, spend time in prayer, be at the vigil supporting Terri's family and all the many other offerings you have given for this effort, thank you and may the Lord richly bless you.

I actually wonder why Jodi's mother would even CONSIDER her daughter marrying a man who has already abused one woman into a seriously disabled state and then tried to killer off THREE TIMES "legally".

I've wondered that too. On the other hand, I've also wondered whether Jodi couldn't have something up her sleeve. After all, I'm not sure that she's necessarily done anything that she could be prosecuted for, especially if she were to suddenly start singing like a canary. She could tell what a monster Michael was and get him locked up for a long time while she keeps all the assets that were conveniently placed in her name.

One more question...was she making progress with the therapy? I'm asking because I'm trying to make a point to a poster on another message board.

I believe that Michael claimed she was at the malpractice suit. Admittedly, he may have been lying then in the hopes of getting more money, but there was from what I understand consensus at the time that the therapy was working.

Kate Adamson was just on O'Reilly. Her witness was unbelievably wrenching.

She stated that when she heard Michael Schiavo say that removal of food and hydration was painless she could not believe it. As it turns out they removed her feeding tube for 8 days after diagnosing her as PVS and she said it was pure torture, unbearable and yet she did indeed bear it.

Her husband insisted they put the tube back in or he would sue everybody involved. He stated that he told the Drs that she would communicate with him by blinking but the Doctors would not believe him.

He's a lawyer though and promised that he wouldn't sue if they reinserted the g-tube. Some time later Mrs Adamson recovered and today looks wonderful.

They deserve big kudos for speaking out.

# 48 - ...called Dean's remarks ''Shameful!"

I'm not a fan of Sen. Lieberman, but he did get this right!: ''I feel very strongly that we ought to honor life and we ought not to create a system where people are being deprived of nutrition or hydration in a way that ends their lives.''

Postscript:

She was cognizant the whole time. She could see, hear and feel but not communicate.

Hi, STARWISE!
I'm doing great!
I'm on a drilling rig so deep in the boonies in South Texas that the Pony Express still delivers mail once a month, and the rattlesnakes carry compasses.
LOL!

This is such WONDERFUL News.......I am still afraid to believe it........

Do you think the volume of emails influenced the Judge? Something sure did........maybe he finally opened his eyes and looked at all of the information, which he refused to consider before.

Thank God! I am SO happy for Terri, and her family. I only hope the good news continues!

I am a newbie, but want to say Congrats to all of you, for all of your hard work.

Thanks for that post. I don't watch TV much, actually don't even get cable, so I depend on you and others to communicate what is on the TV and radio news and shows about Terri.

I always check out web sites. I don't get larry King so I read the HINO interview on teh web site. Would you know the web site of O'Reilly?

So Kate said that getting your feeding tube removed was not "the second easiest painless way to go besides an anuyerism" as MS stated?

What is really wierd in all of thei sis that i have a living will drafted by our attorney and so do my parents. Both of my parents specifically have stated in their living will that they do not want to be maintained via feedign through a tube. We talked about this and that is what they want. My husband and I both have in our living wills that we don't want to be artificially supported when "terminal" however we do want to be fed. So even within my own family our personal choices are different. At least in my family we speciafally have these things spelled out.

If a person doesn't talk specifically about food and water prior to being Terminal/Brain Dead/ PV or whatever you want to call it, then I dont' think any of us should consider food and water to be extrordinary. I am going to write to my governor and ask that these quetions be included in the Drivers License Application. We already have the Organ Donor questions, why not ask these other questions and finish the job. At least it wouold be on the record somewhere what your wishes are.

>> I bet neither Jodi nor mother-in-law to-be Eleanor are pleased tonight.

I keep wondering how much they look over their shoulder. There is an old saying -- and every woman understands it -- that if he'll cheat WITH you, he'll cheat ON you. Let's take that another step: If he bumps off his wife to marry YOU, how do you know he won't bump you off for his next girl friend?

Jodi can rationalize the adultery, perhaps. But can she dismiss all doubts about Michael's probable beating of Terri... possible attempted strangulation... and now openly lethal intentions toward the woman who is still his wife?

If I were she, I'd get the heck out of Dodge.

What a difference from what your link says:

After a hearing on Wednesday, Greer rejected a request from Schiavo for the Schindlers' latest petition to be dismissed. That decision means Schiavo's attorneys must respond in court to the charges in the suit, which include:

* Adultery in violation of Florida law;

* Misappropriation of funds awarded by a civil jury for Terri's rehabilitation;

* Conflict of interest. The Schindlers believe Schiavo may be trying to end Terri's life to avoid paying alimony that could be awarded if a new guardian successfully petitioned for a divorce on her behalf;

* Denial of health care in violation of Florida law;

* Failure to meet deadlines for completing guardianship plans as required by Florida law;

* Failure to complete annual guardian training as required by Florida law;

* Authorizing experimental medial procedures without court approval;

* Concealing information from the court; and

* Exceeding the specific guardianship authorities granted by the court, also allegedly in violation of Florida law.

And this one:

Attorneys for Michael Schiavo now have to respond in court to charges in the petition that he withheld proper care and therapy from his wife, Terri Schiavo, and that he has a conflict of interest because he's in a romantic relationship with another woman.

I respect others choices but I have a problem with blanket advanced directives. You can't be prepares for every situation. My husband and I have decided not to do this. We trust each other to make decisions and would do so with parent(s) support. While no one wants artifical means, at times it is appropriate. What if you had to have an ER surgery and needed to be medically sedated (vent) a few days to allow your body rest to recover or were in a coma temp. that could be reversible.

It's a little late to tell Jodi to get the heck out of St. Petersburg. She just had another child and is "in love." She is waiting for a formal Catholic wedding. And she has the house, vehicle, etc. in her name to make sure the groom comes through. Remember too that Schiavo has dehydrated and starved both parents already too. But Jodi knows that would never happen to her!

> We can send a mountain of cards-as you suggest-WE CAN DO THIS....we can build a mountain for Terri and her family just as GOD has promised that we can move mountains by our FAITH!

That image may work a miracle!

Do you remember "Miracle on 34th Street"? It was sacks of mail to Kris Kringle, delivered by an official U.S. Government representative -- the postman! -- that proved in a court of law that he was Santa Claus!

I can see Theresa Marie's Mountain, a great mound of loving birthday cards and contributions, delivered before a judge, proving that Terri is America's sweetheart, will be well cared for, and will live happily ever after.
