The Ignorance of Liberal New Yorkers: My experience with my sign from the Anti-Kerry Protest

After spending a long day protesting in New York City, I thought that I would share my experiences with fellow FREepers who unfortunately could not be there. I was thrilled with the turn out, and I was equally appalled with some of the comments I received from people when I was walking around with my Benedict Kerry sign. One woman told me how stupid my sign was and how stupid I was to carry it. Why am I stupid...because you don't want to face the facts that your precious John Kerry is a liar and a traitor? I had another man follow me around and tell me that Kerry did nothing wrong, because he was protesting America's police state...where do people come up with these things. I also had two young men try to taunt me, asking "What, you would rather vote for Bush"...which I promptly answered "Damn Right!" What amazes me is when they disagree with my message, they have to be so nasty about it.
Oh, and for those of you who want to know what I did...I smiled at them and laughed! I was not about to stoop down to their level, and when I tried to reason with Mr. Police State, he argued with me and told me that I was wrong..even though I had the facts to back up my sign.
Gotta love people!

I also remember Jose Padilla and the Patriot Act. Unless the governement is straight out lying about him (for no discernble reason) Padilla is an enemy combatant, and no amount of huffing from "civil libertarians" will change that. If you go to a foreign country and come back with plans to kill Americans on American soil, I don't care if you're the President's kid, you no longer have the rights of a U.S. citizen.
What Patriot Act provisions do you have a problem with? I have yet to get a coherent answer from anyone on that question (with the exception of a few "coherent" answers that were massively factually inaccurate, like "Ashcroft has been looking at thousands of library card records"), so please enlighten me, and be specific.

figures that you weren't taunted until you were alone - without your male escortThat's how it always works - like at one of our FReeps here in WAshington, when they chose an elderly lady who was off by herself away from the main groups as their target...
Most Leftists are cowards by nature...

I'd like to know that too. I've never gotten an accurate, well-reasoned argument on why the Patriot Act is unconstitutional despite all of the gnashing of teeth over it.

Too funny!
I heard about the protest on Fox News this morning.
Good job, Freepers.
When he comes to Ohio again, I will try and get my "Open your military records" sign ready and take a day off work.

Kerry is trying to say he agrees with everything that happened to Howard Stern, but in a way "Politics of Dancing" kind of way...

I hear you Ditter!
My favorite pastime has been bashing leftists (argumentatively), but the passions have elevated to the point where we've come close to blows. I don't intend to spend the night in the hoosgow because I've squashed some pinhead.
I've also started a new job where I got teamed up with a raving loony liberal - he has no idea (yet) what my politics are, and I don't intend to tip my hand any time soon. (Or at least as long as I can stand it ;'}

If you go to a foreign country and come back with plans to kill Americans on American soil, I don't care if you're the President's kid, you no longer have the rights of a U.S. citizen. My answer is in your question. How do you know the government isn't lying or mistaken? Our system says that the burden of proof in a criminal case is on the government. We simply cannot let go of that protection or we are all subject to arrest any time without any wrong doing on our part. If you think that you are happy trusting Bush and Ashcroft not to misuse it, think about some time in the future when maybe Hillary is president. What will stop her from deciding that FReepers are enemy combatants?
What Patriot Act provisions do you have a problem with?
If you want one key point it is that the warrants that are required in some circumstances are no longer issued on probable cause only. The standard is now-"the government wants a warrant". Recent additions have eliminated even this for some financial inquiries.

liberals believe in the first amendment all right...when it suits themI believe it was one of the writers at NRO's The Corner section who said the liberals' motto should be, "I will fight to the death for your right to agree with me."

What amazes me is when they disagree with my message, they have to be so nasty about it. It's just the liberals way of showing you how tolerant they are.
After they are finished telling you that you are stupid, they'll probably tell you that liberals are nicer than conservatives.

In my 23 years, I think I can fairly say that I have mastered the art of pissing people off...I learned the effect of smiling at stupid people on the playground at age 8 and it was an invaluable lesson.
Key here is that these morons want me to respond and talk back to them the way they talk to me. However, I refuse to give them the satisfaction!
