Hi Gretchen!
THANKS in advance--
Bush waits at the bottom of the steps of Air Force One as he departs Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Friday
I just watched him jump--looked like he had a great time. Wonder what Barbara thought? :-) I had heard she wasn't to happy about it.
Also heard the Pres. and Laura are on their way back to the WH for a t-ball game.
I love this country!
Barbara looks great, like she's maybe lost some weight. Nice to see the 41's and all the brothers and sister, too.
Thanks for the pictures. What a great first family we have in America. God bless them all.

Did anyone else lose it while watching this most poignant moment? I read that this flag was flying on the USS Ronald Reagan at the time of his death.
I thought it was so sweet at the funeral how the Pres. escorted Nancy Reagan the last little bit to her seat in the National Cathedral.
I certainly lost it when she clutched the flag to her chest! And then again when she whispered to Patti, "I don't want to go."
I should have invested in Kleenex this past week.

I'll second all that!
I'm glad you said that. I thought the same thing but couldn't tell for sure.

Thanks, Gretchen, I've been missing the Dubya pics the last few days.
I started losing it during the bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace" and then continued during the whole rest of the burial.
When they interspersed the scenes of the sunset with the scenes of the burial (getting tearyeyed and goosebumps again just thinking about it!) I was thinking it was just how he would have wanted it.
AND also--from perhaps the most magnificant, formal cathedral in the world to one of the most beautiful places in nature I've ever seen, from sea to shining sea, in just a few hours.
And God was clearly very, very present in both places.

Me too.
It's nice to be back her among friends to talk about all these events. The live threads were waaaayyy too fast for me!
Barbara definitely looks thinner and is wearing some more "with it" outfits.
I love her.
What a great couple of couples we've had (removing a certain 8 years period)
Barbara did look really elegant!
I didn't see her after the jump today--did you or anyone?
"Great couple of couples"--yep, we've had! Now we just have to find Condi a husband by 2008 so we can continue the great couples tradition (excepting the DarkYears, of course!)
As I spoke with a lady yesterday while walking, I don't know how anyone can refute His Existance. That "moment" was not something anyone mortal could have timed.
I did too. There were sooo many moments during the days from Wednesday through Friday when I lost it. I did okay through most of the funeral service in DC, till the camera FINALLY showed Mike Reagan, and he was standing, with his hand over his heart, while the casket was taken away, and his face was broken with grief, and his wife was also crying.
