RESEARCH THREAD: Compiling List of Left Wing Violence Against GOP

Sometime ago, the the vast body of Freeper Knowledge put together a very impressive list of calls for violence against people made by various left wingers. Hot headed neanderthals like Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee were known, but when you added up all the incidents, it was newsworthy and did recieve attention in major media.

What I would like to do with your help is compile all the incidents of left wing violence, violence so common in this election that it is without precident.

For example, there are the invasions of GOP offices by "Brownshirts For Kerry" organized by the AFL-CIO. There are the specific casess where FIREARMS have been used against GOP offices. In other cases, the GOP offices are burglarized or vandelized.

What I seek here is a short description of the incident and a link to a press report about it. I am sure that when we are done, it will be a newsworthy list. Because reporters, in general, are lazy, having the URLs will make righting the story possible.

Not to minimize cases where you car or home may have been vandelized, unless it's beyond having your car keyed or sign stolen, that's not "enough" for this list. I'm trying to get the really disturbing cases like the night Bush accepted the nomination and a shot was fire into a GOP office while supporters were in there watching the TV having a party.

Thank you for your support, the success of this will be solely due to your contribution and support. I promise a concerted effort to get this in the right hands.

Check back occassionally and see what's been contributed so you don't duplicate effort and can spend time on finding new citations. Multiple URLs for the same incident are desired, it helps document that specific act of left wing violence.

Thank you again, the American people do not accept political violence. They view it as the tactis of a fascist and the unprecidented number of acts of political violence and the escalation in severity needs to be reported.

Local Bush/Cheney headquarters robbed
The Enquirer

DOWNTOWN - Cincinnati's headquarters for the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign was broken into overnight.

Money and a sign were taken from the office, on Seventh Street near Court Street. The thieves got in by breaking out a window.

The office was also ransacked, officials said. It also houses other Republican organizations.

No one had been arrested.

Hewitt, being a Constitutional Law Professor does try to keep things civil
in terms of labeling of "opposition" guests.

Okay, I will only address the biggest issue of theft then. DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe ripped the IBEW (the elctrical workers union) for millions. This money does not represent the the rank and files attitude in politics, a great many from the IBEW are to the right.

But even as he questions the president's credibility on the issue of corporate responsibility, there are questions about McAuliffe's own past as a private businessman ... In the late 1990s, some of McAuliffe's business ventures came under investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, which filed suit against two labor-union officials, both of them with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pension fund, for entering into questionable business arrangements with McAuliffe. Both officials later agreed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in penalties for their actions, and the union itself had to reimburse its pension fund by nearly $5 million.

There may not be a great deal of violence in this article to look at, but when you relize that those same dollars (and their compounded interest and access to "leveraged" dollars at 8 to 1) are being used against you, who needs violence? Remember the business "golden rule" he who has the gold, makes the rules.

Hey Doc! How are ya?!

Here in south central Kentucky, we've had so many signs stolen it's not even funny. I work at Repub Headquarters every chance I get, and we've got a gentleman there who makes the painted signs on 4'x4' corrugated white plastic...the latest "fun" for the vandals here is to cut them into pieces and leave the pieces scattered in lawns all over town. Before that it was spraypainting "Veterans For Bush" and "Democrats for Bush" signs with the word 'not' -- to make Veterans 'Not' for Bush, etc.

We've been getting nasty phone calls from the first day the Repub Hdqtrs opened, as well as "No on the Amendment" stickers placed on our windows. (Kentucky is having a vote on a constitutional amendment protecting marriage -- if you're from KY and reading this, be sure to vote Yes!)

We also get the 'this is my IQ' hand symbol from folks passing by headquarters.

On the bright side -- signs, bumper stickers, mugs, t-shirts, and more are FLYING out...people are tickled to get them!
