Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said Sunday that when the full Senate debates the nomination of Dr. Condoleezza Rice to be Secretary of State on Tuesday, she intends to repeat charges that Rice deliberately misled the nation about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
"I will lay out again on the Senate floor [why] I do not believe [she] has been candid with the American people," Sen. Boxer told CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."
"[She's] gone on shows like yours and made statements that I don't think were true, or they were half-true, didn't tell the whole story, didn't level with the American people."
Reacting to criticism from White House chief of staff Andy Card, who called her attacks on Rice "petty politics" last week, the Marin County Democrat taunted, "Even though Andy Card would like me to go away. I'm not going to go away."
"[Rice] said things that were flat-out not true," Sen. Boxer continued. "When she said only one agency thought the aluminum tubes could not be used for nuclear weapons, that wasn't true."
As she did during last week's hearings, the Bush administration critic justified her personal attacks on Rice by saying that the Iraq war is especially important to Californians "because we've lost 25 percent of those who died in Iraq."
According to OpinionJournal.com, however, the actual proportion of deaths of U.S. troops from California is 11.5 percent.
I am going to e-mail my Senators, Hutchinson and Cornyn, but, one Senator that I have seen get up on the floor and dispute these idiotic statements of the Dems is Kit Bond.
He has had to get up several times and just read out of bona fide documents to "set the story straight" after the dems have gone on all of the cable news shows and spewed their twisted logic.
That, is what needs to happen. The 9/11 commission and the Senate Intelligence Committee BOTH had references in their findings that there absolutely WERE links between Iraq and al-Queda, and Boxer keeps repeating the mantra of the dems, that there was NO link---
I hope Bond or someone, brings copies of both reports to the floor on Tuesday and reads verbatim the section about that and has a HUGH poster board with the quotes in RED and uses a pointer and emphasizes like Biden does, every single syllable and word, so that ditzy Babs will finally get it through her racoon nest!

Don't the dems ever consider that when they are calling people like Rumsfeld, Rice, Bush, etc., liars, that they are IMPUNING the reputation of the United States in doing so?
Just because they didn't vote for them, that doesn't make them NOT their President and his Administration! It all is so simple but mystifying that they can't comprehend that they too, are being spat upon by the Islamfascists, French, Germans, etc.
Wishful thinking however it would be nice to see a slam dunk in '08 for the 'pubs.

The reason these people pull these shenanigins is cuz the media go crazy over it. There is going to be all this coverage of Boxer whenever she says whatever she is going to say - coverage of absolute junk and garbadge. These liberal reporters will be so eager to print what she says... Let them - their monopoly will fade even more.
