Mystery object lights up Northwest sky
FOX 12 OREGON ^ | 03.12.05 | NA

Posted on 03/12/2005 9:33:14 PM PST by Mr.Atos

PORTLAND - A flaming object was spotted streaking through the Saturday night sky across Western Oregon and the impact was heard all the way from Salem to Medford, according to various reports.

Newspapers across the western half of the state and KPTV were getting phone calls from people who saw the object.

Summer Jensen of Portland said she was sitting in her living room with her father when they saw the flash of light outside and rushed to see what it was.

"I've never seen anything like that," Jensen said, adding that the object appeared to be moving slowly compared to a typical meteor, or "shooting star."

I am told by the geeks at work that Art Bell only works weekends. This should make his night because it just has to be little green men...cuz, what else could it be.

I heard it was Dan Rather's Career...

Then it would have ended with a "pffft" instead of a boom.

You can tell how much I keep up with Art Bell---didn't know his days, besides, I thought he quit a while back because of some death threats or something----

I guess the lure of those green men in flying saucers were too hard to resist..

The colour of light produced depends upon the composition of the meteorite. Iron particles produce yellow light; sodium particles produce orange-yellow light; magnesium produces a blue-green light and silicon atoms produce red light.

Are you "Synap" on TB2000? I saw the same post there. (from CBC News article)

You got me---I am now tuned in to Art Bell, kind of like slowing down to look at an accident, shouldn't do it, but the impulse too strong, LOL

Don't know how long I will last though, now he is talking about "last week's blow-out show" with some writer Thomas Bulya (sp)) of Popular Mechanics about how Bush knew about the attacks of 9/11 before the attack...do do do do
