FNC: Back up generator working at Superdome but not enough for air conditioning. It only powers emergency lights.

can anyone figure whats jammed up against little tree in Streetcarcam? It sorta resembles a dog.

It's not making any noise; I think it must be a mime.

yes, but there is also a flipside to that argument. if this storm doesn't flood NO, that tells us the odds of any storm doing it, is very low, because the convergence of a set of perfect conditions, is almost unattainable. and add to that they "they hyped it" mantra that will be leveled against the weather service and hurricane center - they will never be able to convince people to evacuate NO again.

I do not understand how anyone can say a bullet has been dodged. It is going to rain for a week and all that water will be coming down the Mississippi, wnon't it?

SS, I think she was trying to say that IF a Storm of this magnitude doesn't do the predicted damage, that in the future people won't evacuate causing massive loss of life.

She's right, ya know.

FNC earlier mentioned the New Orleans Saints, they have a home game with the Giants on week two, September 18th. Guess if the Dome is unavailable, they could play at Dallas as the Cowboys play the Deadskins on the following Monday night...

jammed up against little tree in Streetcarcam?

My picture's really dark, and I think it's mostly water drops on the lens. All I can see is the traffic lights swinging like crazy in at the intersection of Charles and Napoleon Aves.

I saw a lot of violent shadows moving just now and it went blank.

No.
Last year they came up here and made it in 18 hours.
We think they may not have been able to come this way due to traffic (or time), so may have gone to stay with her mother who booked out of town much earlier.

Thank you, NautiNurse.

Been up for a while listening to radio. Cat 4, slightly east of NO. Praying, praying, praying for those in LA.

Governor Easley, NC has just opened 4 shelters to help house evacuees post-storm.
