Category 4 Hurricane Katrina is approaching landfall in Eastern Louisiana. At 4:00AM EDT the storm's center was about 90 miles south of New Orleans.

No power at Superdome except for emergency generator which is enough for lights only...no A/C.

Power went out, but backup generator is operating. no air conditioning though. Yikes.

Fox reporting one of the rivers (no name) went over its banks, had to evacuate two of the shelters.....

Well, that will remain to be seen in the future. This was a LEGITIMATE storm with all the bad signs and proof to back it up that evacuation WAS necessary. Murphys Law, if they hadn't evacuated things would have or still could get worse.
IT AIN'T OVER TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS. People are calling the aftermath way too soon.
Just heard, Grand Isle was the point of hit.
Mississippi is going to get the worst of this.
The generators are for emergency lighting and such.
They'd have to be humongous to run the AC system for the Dome.
