Category 4 Hurricane Katrina is approaching landfall in Eastern Louisiana. At 4:00AM EDT the storm's center was about 90 miles south of New Orleans.

The local TV showed the tail end of a conference with the LA governor. She said that St. Tammany parish, Washington parish, and two other parishes were hard-hit. She asked people who had evacuated NOT to come back to NOLA.

CNN reported earlier about a grocery store being looted....said there were whole families, kids and all, bringing out grocery carts full of whatever they could steal. As far as I know, the reporters didn't take any pics

Multiple tornado warnings in metro Atlanta (Carroll, Rockdale, Gwinnett) for rotational storms spinning off tornadoes from south to north across the area; Tornado Watch for north GA/north AL until 1A ET...

We just got the second tornado touchdown in Gwinnett County, GA. The Carrolton tornado is reporting a lot of damage.

I really thought GA would escape the wrath of Katrina. This thing must be massive to have arms in Georgia.
