I have seen nothing that convinces me that those lights were UFO's. To me they look like parachute flares that I have seen numerous times while in the Navy. Same drop pattern, same dimming as they burn out. But then again if they were something as simple as flares why didn't the military just come out with the simple explanation? Unless a black project aircraft dropped them.

As I said before, the presupposition of scholars dating ancient manuscripts is that prophesy cannot happen. Thus the mention of an event which is a verifiable bit of history causes them to date the manuscript after that historical event.

Your reference doesn't seem to support an actual prophecy involving Herod. Your original post strongly implied that texts mentioning Herod have been carbon dated to 200 B.C. I haven't seen any evidence for this.

The many prophesies concerning the Messiah don't specify the Name He was appointed when He was enfleshed, the date or address, His parents' names and so on. If they did, everyone would have known Him. The prophesies instead gave clues to all these things. God always hides Truth in plain sight.

Likewise are prophesies concerning other characters, nations and events.

For instance, in the following passage - Alexander the Great is not named, but the vast majority of scholars understand of whom Daniel is speaking:

And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. - Daniel 8:21-22

Likewise, there is no doubt among Christians of whom Isaiah is speaking here in chapter 53 - even though he doesn't name Jesus:

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53 was also found at Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls) - and was dated at 100 B.C. For a summary of the DSS v the Masoretic text from which the King James (above) was translated: Ancient Hebrew Translation Project

Likewise, even though Herod is not named in Enoch - most scholars understood him to be the character and his the time being spoken of in Enoch. And for that reason, they presumed Enoch was written during his rule or shortly thereafter. But that was before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Rats, it occurs to me that I should remind Lurkers that the carbon dates given for the Dead Sea Scrolls are not the dates the manuscripts were composed but rather the approximate dates the particular scrolls or fragments were written. Most all of the ancient manuscripts at Qumran are copies, but the manuscripts from which they were copied have not (yet) been discovered. A few however are community records (business, etc.) which are obviously originals.

USAF F15s Encounter a UFO

On Friday, January 12th 2007, London Military Air Traffic Control contacted a flight of US Air Force F-15s out of RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, UK, to intercept an unknown target they had picked up on radar at 3000 to 4000ft altitude.
The F-15s, call-sign Gator, went to investigate, and got a solid radar-lock on the unidentified target.

They made two passes and passed the object, which was at 17,000ft on the first pass and then 17,700ft on the second pass. They described it as black in colour and stated that it was not a bird and unlike any aircraft they had ever seen.

One pilot was heard to say to another: "Did you see that?" And the other replied:
"Yes, but I don't want to talk about it."

An audio file is being analysed by UFO Monitors East Kent, and UFO Data Magazine, from the air-to-air communications by the crews of the F-15s.

UFO Monitors East Kent, here in Kent, England, along with UFO Data Magazine are making enquiries into the incident and are hoping to make representations under the US and UK Freedom of Information Acts.

This looks like an intriguing case, especially as the incident was recorded by radio monitors here in the UK.

Two things, Quix: Symington will be on the first hour of C2C tonight, and the DOD has a very large lifting body shaped dirigible which may be the thing being seen in the 'triangle sightings'.

I think the large dirigible is not likely in this case given the 17:30 sighting of 3 large craft pancaking on top of each other and then all disappearing instantly in a huge bright flash of light.

But I wasn't there! LOL.

The 30-40 mph sounds a bit like a dirigible but also like a lot of UFO's.

It's late here in the East. I listened to Fife and don't find him credible, especially since he made such an effort back then to ridicule and has not given any reason for why he did that if he actually saw a clear UFO and not flares or a flight of A-10s.
