Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

In the course of this thread, folks spontaneously realized that they were going to have to pick up the slack financially to replace what might have gone away with our dearly departed "friends." That was great.

I have a further suggestion:

It is my proposal that every conservative on FR makes the effort immediately to recruit at least five of their proven conservative friends to come here and join us as we prepare to do battle in 2008.

. Seems like with all the anger they bubbled up with, it’d be like dipping into a pool of muddy hot water.

Muddy hot water? You're being too kind. With most of the disgruntled FReepers offshoot websites, it's more than just water.

It is. There are a few who had some sense, I hate that they left with their allies. These people turned their backs on conservatives, because they discovered we were tired of being manipulated and no longer as useful to them.

I think Jim understood this before and much better than I, and took appropriate action, in it’s due time.

I have invited a few, but none have yet bitten.

Too new in Boise to know very many.

But I have absolutely firm commitment in my heart to do grass roots work here.

Although, I’m not from MA.

I COULD'VE checked your home-page first...(gulp).

That’s sad...we all (well, mostly) used to be friends.

I agree that Jim did the right thing...I’m sad to not communicate with some friends anymore...but I’m not leaving FR.

If I accept that proposal, then I’d have to sacrifice 5, and I can’t do that. I’m bringing 10 as committed :)

I have a prediction: There will be some in their midst who will see the renewed conservatism, activism and goodnatured fellowship that springs up on FR, and will have some real regrets.

I agree... BUT, lets be careful that we don’t burn any bridges on this end either.

Remember, in the end, it’s evil we’re fighting. It’s liberalism....the Dem’s etal.

Choose ye this day whom you shall serve....(sound familiar?).

The interesting thing too is I know enough about the technology being employed here to know that no-one can compete with FreeRepublic on a technical level, period! The offshoots are running open source garbage scripts and are 20 to 50 users from servers crashing, not to mention the impossible navigation, etc., etc.. And no money thrown at the code will get them to where FR is and will always be, and that’s on top. Just another reason why I finally had to take the plunge and sign up.

I guess that might have been a rant, but a good rant.

Twelve-and-a-half thousand posts is a catharsis.
