Is it yours or ours? Don’t even want to consider ‘both’.

What’s with this westward shift? That’s not what we wanted to see.

I noticed with Fray, Hanna and Gustav just how good the NHC is getting at predicting the path of big hurricanes. I used to joke that the one thing I know for sure is that 3 days out, where ever the NHC says it’s going is safe from the hurricane. lol, Not any more, I am very impressed with thier skill this season.

We’ve got friends with a second home in the Houston area...they were planning on driving back to California tomorrow, but we got an email this morning indicating they’re hanging back a couple of days to study Eisenhower’s trajectory.

Looks like it’s pretty much followed the predicted path so far. The brunt of the hurricane will not hit Miami.

"Godspeed to all in Ike's path." Thanks.
I'm relieved to see the forecasted track by-passing my home place.

Yesterday someone posted a forecast of the track of Hanna that extended to the UK, when I saw that, I wondered if the weather (linked below) is associated with one of our earlier weather systems?

I’m glad it’s not headed for N.O. any more, but now there are a ton of wells and refineries in its path.

Dear God, not again! Well, I will leave my suitcases packed, already have my important papers and things all together and am prepared to leave if it heads this way again. I feel for the people that live on those small islands, don’t know how they live through these things year after year.

It appears as though Ike will miss us in Florida, thank God, but the Keys will get hit and from there who knows. Take care all of you in the path. Looks like a bad one.

Checking in with a great big sigh of east coast Florida relief. Prayers for those in Ike's path and may he weaken and swerve at the critical moment.
Here is a handy link for the future thread body. It's http://www.usnpl.com/, the US Newspapers list. Now newspapers aren't very handy when it comes to real time weather but what is handy about the list is that after you select the state, there is a link on the left to get a list of TV stations in that state. You can then click through to a station's Web site and hopefully find their live feed.
