WASHINGTON – A U.S. senator has weighed in on the continuing controversy over Barack Obama's eligibility for office by saying he has never seen proof the new president was actually born in Hawaii.

"Well, his father was Kenyan and they said he was born in Hawaii, but I haven't seen any birth certificate," Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., told constituents in Cullman County. "You have to be born in America to be president."

It's probably too late to challenge the election, but it's not too late for charges of fraud, deceit, or lying under oath. Don't forget that the COLB he posted as "valid" on the internet was purported to be the real "birth certificate, when in fact it is not.

US Code Title 3,15 is about counting and certifying electoral votes, which has noting to do with the Constitutional legality of the candidate.

Reminder: Bubba Clinton was impeached for lying under oath.

Shelby is only saying this now because there is nothing he’s going to do about it. Someone up thread commented that he used to be a RAT. Yeah, he switched in ‘94 just after the election. He knew that if he wanted any authority he had better switch. It was convenient.

Shelby talks a good game but he really doesn’t do all that much.

He had a chance earlier on January 6 and kept his mouth shut. Talk is cheap.

I don’t think so, to be natural born he needs two parents who are citizens at the time of his birth, at least that was the original meaning of the term. Now, of course, we have millions who don’t have any real idea who their father is. The matter of British and or Indonesian citizenship also comes into play, it seems to be established that he traveled to Pakistan at a time when he could not have gone on an American passport. If all the rules were followed (a big if) I don’t think he could qualify even with a Hawaiin birth certificate.

Did the affiramtive action poseur-in-chief have a father? Was that father an American citizen? ... Barack Obama, aka Barry Soertoro, aka Barry Dunham, aka Barry Obama did not have two American citizen parents. He is not a natural born citizen, though he appears to be a citizen ... but that may be in question, too, since he’s buried his passport and college entry records where he may well have used foreign student status to game those systems.

According to the Naturalization Act of 1790, a person could be born to two US citizens overseas and be considered a "natural born citizen". For a person born in the US, all it takes is one parent who is a US citizen.
