Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!

I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US!

Thank you very much!

“Why would you post such an unflattering picture of Reagan just to get a rise?

It is most likely photoshop!”

It’s not a PHOTO SHOP.

Ronald Reagan was a great man who incidentally had a great and playful sense of humor.

I don’t think the picture is unflattering, it just shows he was human.

I like it.

Let me state first that I was NOT for Mitt Romney OR Rudy at any time. I was undecided given the field, leaned toward Hunter and voted for Palin, frankly, because I didn't want to toss my vote in the trash. Further, I am NOT Mormon. I'm Christian, as JR might remember since I gave the prayer and helped to organize the memorial visit for Reagan at the library. I also have worked on Nixon and Reagan’s campaign. There is someone on the site that can vouch for this information for any naysayers. I am old school Republican. And although inherently GOP, I have also voted Independent when my conscience dictated it.

I just want to point out that Jim Robinson did not even use the words Mormon or LDS in his statement. I'm fairly certain that was deliberate since he knows the Mormons have presented the most united conservative front of late especially in California wherein they were the only church openly fighting prop 8. Something no other church can boast. God bless 'em!

Referring to Governor Mitt Romney as a "steaming pile of shit" whether you support him or not is fairly distasteful and not a little juvenile. Let's try to take the high road when we can. Especially when we're arguing about faith.

I'm not as critical of Doctors. I have some DR.friends. They didn't start earning until they were in their mid-30's. One is an Orthopedic surgeon. His malpractice insurance costs more than $3 million a year, with 2 doctors in the office. He came out of college owing more than $300K.

My friends dad was also a Doc, a now 80 yr old GP. He has traded his services for chickens! He delivered a baby for a canoe! He never took money from people who couldn't pay.

Doctors aren't the problem. Blame the gum't and the insurance companies... and the Pharmas are now basking in the same flow of money, as well! It's all about the Benjamins!

I agree with most of what you said but I’ll defend McCain.

We did, or I hope most of did, support him in 08. And we would be so much better off if he were the President now.

And can we not forgive and forget?

After all, he did pick Sarah Palin as his running mate.

I’m sure that Jimmy Carter was probably the most “Christian” of any recent Presidents. He still sucked as President.

Lol. Very true.

Re National Council for a New America.

How about we keep the old one. I kind of like it.

The Romneybots could never promote their guy without having to demonize someone else. Their favorite was Reagan.

I won't miss them.

Only because of Sarah Palin. I voted for her not the old RINO warhorse. Had he not been on the ticket, we may have even gave Obama a run for his money.

McCain blew his own chances by supporting the bailouts. When he suspended his campaign and rushed back to DC, he had an incredible opportunity to not only defend the constitution and American freedom by doing the right thing, but also to differentiate himself from both Bush and Obama. But going for the bailouts just placed the blame for the financial meltdown squarely at Bush’s and his own GOP feet and made it that much easier for Obama to waltz in. Incredibly stupid of Bush and McCain and all the turncoat RINOs who voted for the socialist coup d’etat.

Wish one of “our” candidates would publicly proclaim soon that if Spanish PM Zapatero and that rogue d.a. (probably named Ronaldo Earlesto or Miguel Nifongez) touch one hair on any U.S. official, dem or ‘pub, much less bring charges for ‘torture’ then they’ll need more warehouses to store the olive oil the U.S. will never buy.

You aren’t fighting the good fight anymore, Jim. You are irrelevant. Free Republic’s glory days are over. And, they are never coming back.
