Healthcare disaster looms
The American Thinker ^ | November 21, 2009 | James Simpson

Posted on 11/22/2009 4:05:42 AM PST by Scanian

This Congress is beneath contempt. What they are poised to pass today -- yes I know this is just a procedural vote, but everything turns on it -- is an abomination. Since Lincoln and Landrieu have been bought off it is now sure to pass. Landrieu's vote will cost the taxpayers $100 million. I wonder what we paid Lincoln to betray us? This bill will not merely ruin our healthcare system; it will impose economy-crushing taxes, pushing our already tottering economy ever closer to the abyss.

No surprise there. Candidate Obama said that since we are only 4 percent of the world population, we couldn't go on consuming 25 percent of the world's resources. It's not fair. In his worldview we should only be consuming, what, 4 percent? In his mind we are confiscating resources and need to give them back.

Apparently according to her, Landrieu’s vote cost taxpayers $300 million—not that that state hasn’t already cost us a bloody fortune for the “city below sea level”.

Just emember what they really want to do...Create another "kitty" to rob from every year...like SS, Medicare, Medicaid.

Medicaid now covers anyone who can't pay or doesn't have insurance so why must everyone have insurance??

We’ll all have insurance, required by law, at roughly three times the current rates by my guess.

What we will NOT have is access to health care.

PROOF ObamaCARE will fail bacause RomneyCARE is a Disaster

Small businesses bridle at health insurance hikes (Romneycare strangles Mass. businesses)
Many told to expect double-digit jumps.
Bob Carroll, owner of a Billerica distributor of paint spraying equipment, recently got
some really bad news from Blue Cross-Blue Shield: His company’s health insurance rates are going up 47 percent in January.”

“Republicans warn: Rationing medicine has already begun
But in a joint opinion piece called "Govt.-Run Health Care Isn't the Answer," published
in the online version of The Advocate, a leading homosexual magazine, Sen. Tom
Coburn, R-Okla., and GOProud's Christopher R. Barron warned the homosexual
community that the Ryan White CARE Act has already demonstrated how government-
run health care has introduced rationing and waiting lists and cost the lives of the people under its provisions.”

"Paying the Health Tax in Massachusetts [Romneycare]
Massachusetts requires every resident to have health insurance, and this
year, without informing us directly, the state had changed the rules in a way that made
our bare-bones policy no longer acceptable. Unless we ponied up for a pricier policy we
neither need nor want—or enrolled in a government-sponsored insurance plan—we
would have to pay $1,000 each year to the state.
How did we become outlaws? “

"National Health Preview - The Massachusetts debacle, coming soon to your neighborhood."
It was only a matter of time.

Health care in Massachusetts: a warning for America [Romney brings Mass. to its knees]
The Bay State's mandatory insurance law is raising costs, limiting access, and lowering care.

Three years ago, Massachusetts adopted a plan requiring all residents to purchase health
insurance, with state subsidies for lower-income residents. But rather than creating a
utopia of high-quality affordable healthcare, the result has been the exact opposite –
skyrocketing costs, worsened access, and lower quality care."

And you believe Lincoln and Lieberman and Landrieu?

The two whores will roll on their backs again when the vote to end debate comes up as long as the CASH INJECTION bribe is BIG ENOUGH.

As for Lieberman, I wouldn't (and no one else should) trust him as far as I could throw him.

This is a done deal. Expect it to be on zero's desk before Christmas.

Anti-Constitutional BS! This piece of legislative sludge is accomplished via another ‘rules’ trick by adding the bill as an amendment to another bill already on the agenda. These elitists don’t even have the decency to let it stand on it’s own. Of course, Porkulus was done in the same fashion.

All that aside, it’s still anti-Constitutional, and NO ONE appears to be challenging it on the Constitutional grounds; apparently trusting in the logic of the court system (another scary thought).

It’s time to mount another message assault on Washington. This health care deform garbage must be stopped, along with the upcoming re-emergent amnesty for illegals that is next on the socialist agenda.

I am certainly glad the Republicans have stood up as a block and said that even if this abomination is passed, once they are returned to power, they will tear it down, by repealing it.

Laws are not written in stone, and the Republicans, once they are back in the majority, are free to do this as soon as they want.

So, that being said, HOW MANY Republicans have said they will do this?

Hundreds? No. Well, there are a few RINOs. So, how many Dozen Republicans have said this? None. What? Are there that many liberals in the Republican party caucus?

Well, okay, if it is just a dozen Republicans... No, not that either.

C’mon! How many have called for repeal of this hideous, nation destroying monster if it is passed???

None. Not a SINGLE Republican has called for repeal.

Why is that? Don’t they know that they can? Don’t they know that they could have repealed the last 70 years of socialism if they wanted to, when they were back in power?

Then why didn’t they, and why haven’t they? What in tarnation is the use of an opposition party that aids and abets their opponent?

Are the Republicans just the conservative wing of the Democrat party?

Rush Limbaugh hasn’t come out and said this, nor has anyone at FOX. Maybe Ann Coulter hinted at it, but that’s about it.

What’s going on here?

There are several Dems plus Lieberman who are record as opposing this bill if it contains a public option and funding for abortion.

Unless those provisions are contained in the bill dozens of House Dems will vote against it.

The only hope Dems have, IMO, is to pass something watered down with a trigger. Then next time around, if the GOP is in charge of Congress, they get rid of the trigger.

This will be a protracted battle.

The ‘bama and the Democrats would rather have absolute power over a third world country than preside over a country of a free and prosperous people. They will accomplish both goals at the same time; the acquisition of total power while destroying every institution of freedom and properity, and there is no one with the foresight, resolve and courage to oppose them. We may have already committed suicide by compromise.
