DETROIT (WXYZ) - The jury has found that a proposed protest by Quran-burning pastor Terry Jones outside the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, the largest mosque in the United States, is likely to breach the peace and incite violence.

The jury has been debating since 3:30 p.m .Thursday. The main issue of the trial was whether or not Jones' main purpose was to say or do something that would incite violence.

You forgot to mention that Islamists kill Christians EVERY DAY, regardless of whether a Koran is burned. Oh, it may up the death toll of Christians by a couple of percentage points, but who's counting? They're only Christians.

In fact, POINTING out that Christians are getting slaughtered, would probably be considered a "hate crime".

Why do you ask? Sharia Law is not subject to the US Constitution.

On the other hand, the Constitution may become subject to Sharia Law if things continue as they do in America.

“This is a Christian Nation....”

.
The Founders meant it to be that way, but they failed to state so in the Constitution.

They never imagined that 20th century US government would allow Islam to invade this country, unopposed.

It's entirely believable in an America that elects Obama president.

Where did they find authority for this in the Constitution?

ROTFL what an outdated question.

Well, Obama has stated that the US is *not* a Christian nation. In the same speech, he did say that the US is a muslim nation.

"wait.. what? he was *thinking* about protesting outside a mosque, and they put him in jail because the occupants of the mosque might get angry?"

That's it in a nutshell. He was jailed because he refused to sign and pay for the $1 peace bond (think restraining order), which would have been acknowledgement that he was legally restrained from protesting. That, of course, is WILDLY unconstitutional - a violation of not only the USC but also of MI law as well.

The ACLU - yes, that ACLU - pretty easily sets aflame the state's case here, in their Amicus brief to the court - which the court then completely ignored.

It occurs to me that there are parts of the Qu’ran that directly incite violence. By this reasoning, a jury could plausibly find that publishing the Qu’ran should be banned.

Jones’s is not incorrect. If you’re referring to all the Joneses, possession is indicated by Joneses’.

Apparently the jury is familiar with Islam.

Islamic law comes to Dearborn

This is where she won a lawsuit to run bus ads offering help to Muslims in fear of their lives.

Correct. They wanted JOnes to post a $100,00 peace bond. As if Jones could do that.

So he opted for a jury.

Jury said no march.

But what I don’t understand is why the Judge determined Jones should pay a bond of $1.00?

Jones refused - so he was arrested.

????

All in all - the muzzies scored a huge victory today.

At the end of Friday’s hearing, Somers ordered both Jones and Sapp to stay away from the mosque for three years — an order that drew gasps and shouting in the courthouse.

The pair were tried under a rarely used law originally passed in 1846 that requires those who are likely to breach the peace to post “peace bonds.”

“Nobody expected this,” Charlie Langton, a lawyer and legal analyst, said of the judge’s decision to jail Jones and Sapp. “It is prior restraint, but the judge followed the letter of the law. It’s purely legal because it’s never been challenged.”

At the Islamic Center, a cheer went through the crowd of 100 after police initially announced the jailing.

“That’s what should happen when people say they are going to break the law,” said Neda Kardri, 29, of Dearborn.

Oh. I see. Jones was arrested BECAUSE HE WAS GOING TO BREAK THE LAW. Not that he did - no sir. But becausae of some 150 year old law - he was arrested because of what he might do.

Un-freaking-believable.
