Sorry for the vanity post but I just drove home listening to the Hannity show (TV broadcast on the satellite radio) and the conversation was the most unintelligent banter I've wasted my time listening to in a long time.
Comparing it to the discussion on Bret Baier's show, well, there is no comparison. It is like college vs. the school yard with Baier's show being the former lest anyone confuse my point.
I don't mean to dump on anyone on here that likes Hannity. Maybe it was just the segment I heard but I actually turned the radio off it was so ridicules. The liberal he had on sounded so childish and I have to say Hannity sounded only slightly more mature.
There was not a serious point to be made by anyone in the entire 20 minutes I listened to. Again, hope I am not ruffling any feathers it has just been a long time since I tuned into Hannity and I was shocked and very disappointed.
You’re not ruffling feathers. Many know that you get a great deal of fluff on Hannity, along with some good stuff. Depends on the day.
Hanity is losing his direction. Search his name. Several have posted about him today. He and Matthews, getting ready for the nut farm.
Frequently I find him sophomoric but he seems like a nice guy and he appeals to a lot of people. Get a little sick of the same old talking points but maybe some people - like the liberals who listen - need to hear them.
During the debates over the debt ceiling there was no one on the radio or TV that fought harder than Sean. He had all the waffling legislators on and held their feet to the fire and asked them tough questions.
It amazes me how quick some in this forum are at tossing aside some of our best supporters and spokesmen as soon as they deviate an inch from their standard of conservative perfection.
The problem with Hannity is the Very Same problem that we have with the Republican Party!
They want to be NICE!
The time for NICE is what got us into the CR@P we are in Now!
Political Correctness, Affirmative Action, NAACP, The Congressional “Black” Caucus, BET etc. etc.
Everyone .. Except the Leftists/Liberal/Commies are being NICE and Mr Hannity is leading the way!
Give me Mark Levin or Mike Savage .. Any Day!
I think you missed my point or I was not clear. It was all just 20 minutes of childish talk. It would be giving him too much credit to say he deviated from espousing any kind of serious point. The only way I can say it is that it was completely childish.
I gave up on listening to Hannity a long time ago.
“Again, hope I am not ruffling any feathers it has just been a long time since I tuned into Hannity and I was shocked and very disappointed.”
So you haven’t listened to him in eons yet feel justified to pass judgement on him with a 20 minute segment. Who is being childish?
If you’re going to castigate him in a public forum with thousands of people, don’t you think you should show a bit more consideration and due diligence?
LOL, you have him nailed. I gave up Hannity years ago.
I remember election day 2008 him telling his audience that his show turned the election around with his expose and the polls turned and McCain was going to win. These poor clueless callers mostly women called in to thank him. Just like his clueless friend Elizabeth Hasselbeck. You should see them together.
I can tell you a number of stories like that. He is great at sticking his foot in his mouth.
I thought he was a guest on the Bob Beckel-Juan Williams talk show.
His program is not to my taste, but he certainly has his niche.
It surprises me when he caves at the slightest breeze, and when he holds a position with no give at all. There seems to be no pattern to it. I am also surprised by the close relationship he has with Mark Levin. Intellectually, Hannity and Levin are like pork rinds and porterhouse steak, respectively.
Anyway, it is all hands on deck the next few years, on the off chance that if everybody does as much as they can we just might avoid capsizing.
Well meaning but unseasoned. “Ya know”
There is too much political hate now. It started with Bork, which was a left wing televised abortion, and it starting boiling from that point on.
The left started these vicious witch hunts, (Clarence Thomas) and now they complain about the vitriol. They poisoned the politics with personal attacks.
There are no more humorous pundits - everyone is out for blood. Where are the Safire’s and the Buckley’s, people that could make you laugh with their wit and dazzle you with their intelligence. Now it is the left calling everyone a racist, and the right calling everyone a commie.
Look at Olbermann - a foaming lunatic. Matthews - a water carrier who makes hysterical charges of racism at the drop of a hat. Ed Schultz is a retarded human being, and an ex Limbaugh wanna-be before he went left. Larry O’Donnell is a manic depressant miles and miles from his meds.
Krauthammer - is the only one that harkens back to the days of yore - the rest are just plain embarrassing.
There is a lot of truth in what you say. Reagan deployed humor like cavalry, and was always turning his opponents’ flanks with it. There have been some echos of that with Sarah Palin, such and the reference to the styrofoam columns and so on.
But humor is largely gone. It is all bullhorns and bullwhips now.
I find him a lightweight, and sort of an idiot.
Almost all the talk hosts now have the inane format that promotes calls from libs, and having lib “friends” on as guests, just so they can argue with them while appearing fair-and-balanced, and Hannity is one of the most obnoxious in this regard.
Life’s too short.
Hannity’s OK. If you want to hear real idiots tune in to Bill O’Reilly factor.
I do love Laura Ingrahm when she sits in for O’Blathermouth though.
I met him and he is indeed a nice guy and on the right side.
