Zetas Drug Cartel Allegedly Conducts 'Mexico-Style Attack' near Houston
Fox News ^ | November 23, 2011 | Andrew O'Reilly

A multi-agency undercover drug bust in Texas spun out of control Monday afternoon when a civilian working for law enforcement was killed and a police officer injured in what has been described by the local press as a “Mexico-style” attack. The incident occurred in Texas' Harris County, where parts of Houston are located, when the secret operative disguised as a truck driver delivering a 300 pound package of marijuana was driving through the northwest part of the county to a rendezvous point. Out of nowhere three sport-utility vehicles carrying alleged Zetas drug cartel gunmen cut off the 18-wheeler truck and opened fire on the cab, killing the driver.

*snip*

While the men - Eric De Luna, 23; Fernando Tavera, 19; Ricardo Ramírez, 35 and Rolando Resendiz, 34 – have all allegedly admitted to an affiliation with the violent Mexico-based Zetas cartel, U.S. authorities are still puzzled as to why the group would authorize such a brazen attack on U.S. soil for 300 pounds of marijuana.

Houston is very far from the Mexico border. And Obama doesn't think the border is a problem?

"Last week in El Paso, President Barack Obama proclaimed our border secure. The president all but ridiculed those who refuse to accept his proclamation that the Obama administration has answered Americans' concerns about border security. Obama even joked about those who believe the federal government has not done enough to secure the border: "Maybe they'll say we need a moat," the president said. "Or alligators in the moat.""

Last week in El Paso, President Barack Obama proclaimed our border secure.

Yep, that's the DC mindset. Our border is secure because, well, it just is. It's what they want, so it is declared to be so.

Just the kind of folks Newt Gingrich tells us we’re “inhumane” to deport. Not every one who comes here illegally just wants to have a good life!

Do tell us Newt, why securing our borders can come later.

You are not correct. Newt did not ever say he favored keeping criminals on as citizens. If you must take pot shots, at least be honest

These criminals are here, they have children, families.

Putta long sleeve shirt on’em to cover the tatts and you instantly have an upstanding undocumented worker.

My point is that you cannot magically tell whether these guys are Zetas or local construction workers.

They don't all live in Mexico, many have been here twenty years. They perhaps arrived when they were ten, now they're thirty five and become involved in the drug trade and recruited by the Zetas.

Newt's dead wrong on his last lil “win the Hispanic vote” snippet during the debate. If your illegal, you've probably broken MANY laws in order to conceal you're life and enable yourself to function in this society.

Forgery, Fraud, Perjury to name a few.

Illegal drug use in the US is a victimless crime. Just ask the drug dealers.

“These criminals are here, they have children, families.”

The interesting thing about these immigration bills in Arizona, Alabamba, Georgia, etc., is that after they pass these laws the crime goes down significantly.

One county in Georgia reported a drop of 1/3 in admissions to the county jail a few months after the law was enacted which allowed local LEOs to check citizenship.

I thought that most of the undocumented people were just looking for work, but apparently there is a whole underclass that preys on the undocumented because they are easy targets. When the working people move away, the predators move with them.

Newt’s talking about a 3 part plan. First, control the border- shut the door. Second, Guest Worker program. Third, a Review Board to review the illegals that are here.

Where did you get your information?

Truman & Eisenhower deported over 12 million illegals in the late 40’s & 50’s.

Mexico has managed to export over 50 million to American soil.

It CAN be done & it MUST be done.

The number of 12 million being here illegally is another big lie. There are over 50 million, IMO. In the 70’s & 80’s in So Calif, 20 million was the accepted number there alone.

Nothing will work until the border is shut. You can kick out millions, but they will keep coming.
Shut the borders first; then deal with the ones here.

The bust did not spin out of control. Somebody, most likely the buyer let it slip and I’m sure the Zetas tortured him to get the details of the delivery.

These people are at war with our society. The drugs are just another weapon in their arsenal to take this country down by diluting the minds of the fools who partake in them. Ron Paul is woefully ignorant of the reality of that fact on two fronts. Foreign affairs and drug policy.

You have no idea how correct your are sir.<p.
I have been taking heat here for several years by quoting James T. Walsh a former immigration specialist lawyer who knows what he is talking about and claims that as of 2005 we had 36 million illegals here. He bases his estimate on 3.6 million illegals per year for ten years using the time period from 1996-2005 yielding 36 million and then adding 2 million visa overstays for a grand total of 38 million.
Toady I would totally agree with your estimate of 50 million.

Houston isn’t alone. Mexican drug cartels are now operating in large cities across the US. It’s far past time for the American people to apply the old tried and true ‘frontier justice’ approach to this menace.

The feds either can’t, or won’t do enough to stop this scourge. They have failed in their most solemn and basic duty, which is to protect the citizens. Meanwhile, good American men and women are dying in far away lands, protecting primitive savages who hate our guts.

“Consent of the governed”? Spit....
