China sending warship to Syrian coast
Hot Air ^ | September 8, 2013 | Jazz Shaw

We spend a lot of time debating the domestic ramifications of President Obama’s handling – to use the word loosely – of the situation in Syria, ranging from political fallout to impacts on upcoming elections. But it’s a big world out there and other countries have taken a keen interest in the subject. You can now bump up the level of engagement that China has in this mess, as they have dispatched a warship of their own to the party.

China has reportedly sent warships to the coast of Syria to “observe” the actions of US and Russian ships as tensions build in preparation for a potential military strike on Syria which could come as soon as next week.

According to the Russian news outlet Telegrafist.org, the People’s Liberation Army dispatched the Jinggangshan amphibious dock landing ship and the vessel was seen passing through the Red Sea towards the Suez Canal, the waterway in Egypt that leads to the Mediterranean Sea and waters off the coast of Israel, Lebanon and Syria.

It may be for “observation” purposes, but this is no Carnival cruise ship. Launched in 2011, the Jinggangshan was built for action.

China has launched its largest amphibious dock landing warship, the 19,000 metric ton Jinggangshan, in Shanghai.

The 689-foot-long warship can carry 1,000 soldiers, helicopters, armored fighting vehicles, boats and landing craft, a report in the China Daily said.

The vessel is the second Type 071 dock landing ship built by Shanghai’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.

In addition to the troop and chopper carrying capabilities, the ship has a number of conventional guns. This comes on the heels of news that Russia already dispatched ships to the region this week, so it’s starting to get a little crowded out there. I was watching Fox and Friends this morning – where I first saw the story – and there were some probably hyperbolic comparisons being made to 1914, but it does make one wonder. Over the past two decades, when the United States has decided to launch any sort of air strikes from mobile / naval platforms, it was just taken as a given that we could do it. And our targets generally don’t have much in the way of sea power to challenge elements of the most powerful navy on the planet. But the Russians and the Chinese have considerable forces as well.

This leaves two potential areas for trouble. What if the Russians and / or the Chinese decided to respond to a strike by us with a military option? They’ve got the resources in place – though it still sounds unlikely in the extreme – so Obama has to be taking that into account. The other problem for the President, though, seems to come from the much more likely possibility that he won’t muster any support at home and our ships turn around and leave the area without striking. How bad of an international debacle does that turn out to be when we have ships in place, the Russians and Chinese show up, and we turn tail and leave? It wouldn’t be the reality of what happened, but that’s how it could easily be spun on the international stage. The last standing superpower on the planet comes to a showdown on the ocean and walks away… it’s not a pretty picture.

China may be itching to try out their new ‘bath tub’ toys.

They have a few, a supercavitating torpedo that runs at about 200 knots and steers quite well.

A carrier killer ballistic missile that closes at 4500 MPH and has multiple real time independent targeting inputs.

The rub is not these individual weapons, it's three torpedoes, three ballistics and ten P-800 Yakhont closing at 1900 MPH all at the same time.

China doesn’t usually get involved in these confrontations. Wonder why they are willing to this time?

But it has to slow down to near "normal" torpedo speed to maneuver, right?

One could hide all sorts of missile launchers, guidance radar in a military "landing ship" ...

If the shooting started, and U.S. Navy ships are arrayed with Soviets and Chi-Coms on the (seaward) outer periphery, and the Syrians launching cruise missiles from the coast ...

whose to say that, in all of confusion, exactly whose anti-ships missiles struck the defending Americans ?

Could U.S. AWACS or Intel satellites accuractly track a 20-50 anti-ship missile mele, all targeted on the four U.S.Navy Destroyers ?

What if these anti-ship cruise missiles were maneuverable ?

And what if the mere presence of Soviet or Chi-Com ships (possibly between the U.S. Navy Destroyers and the Syrian Coast) ... forced the Americans to give a mere 15 seconds of delay in the counter-attack response times ?

Would that 15 to 30 second delay (in the middle of naval combat) and the POTUS having "Manservant Sex" with Reggie Love ... or else indulging in a cocaine bing the night before ...

cause the Sodomite Kenyan POTUS to panic and stall the decision cycle ...

and NOT ALLOW U.S. Naval forces to return fire ?

What has this Nation gotten itself into with this TREASONOUS Shiite-Jihadist Sodomite Boy-Toy "Barrack Hussein Obama" ?

And by the way ... "BareNakedIslam.com" reports today ...

3 U.S. Congressional Representatives visit Egypt to express support for the Egyptian military and the 30 million Egyptians who deposed the Muslim Brotherhood.

Representatives Michele Bachmann, Steve King and Louie Gohmert condemn support for the Muslim Brotherhood as offered by Barack Obama, John McCain, and Miss Lindsey Graham, while praising the Egypt people and the Egyptian Army for taking to the streets and forging the new path Egypt has taken on the road to liberty and freedom.

Michele Bachmann started by declaring “Together, our ountry, the United States and Egypt have dealt with the same enemy.

It’s a common enemy,” before adding that “I want to assure the people of Egypt that I, as a member of Congress, will stand strong in support of continuing military support, United States support financially, to stand for the military in Egypt.”

King and Gohmert also declared their support for the Egyptians who stood up for liberty and freedom and stood up against the Muslim Brotherhood.

Do you think that these three (3) Congressional Patriots are merely visiting Egypt to smile and skake hands with the new Egyptian Government who is AT WAR with Obama's (beloved) Mosel Brotherhood ?

Not a chance in Hell.

I believe that they are there (in person) to receive PAPER DOCUMENTS that would otherwise be intercepted or tracked by Obama's thugs in the CIA-FBI-NSA.

I wouldn't be suprised if these three Congressional Patriots were MURDERED by an errant Moslem Brotherhood anti-aircraft missile, courtsey, of course, of Barrack Hussein Obama, to silence them.

These are dangerous times.

Pray hard, America.

Qaddafi had sold oil futures to the Chinese, they outbid the French and Italians that had a lock on Qaddafi's oil, previously.

China never got their oil, Obama's rebel buddies tried to cut rate it to France, but most is out of production and pirated now.

America shoots a few missiles. The Syrians ask for help and the Russians and Chinese raise the ante by landing some troops probably categorized as medical personnel.

The P-800 Yakhout is maneuverable considering it flies at mach three and 12 feet off the water, launched from aircraft, ship, submarine or shore. It will close 20 miles in 50 seconds.

They are trying to crack our communication codes, “that’s all”.

However, Iran is a red line for China, they can’t have their oil supply dictated by Saudi Arabia.

China, according to some estimates, now has the largest economy on planet earth.

Joking this way, doesn’t help.

China is becoming very, very big. And growing.

Meanwhile we are playing paddy-cakes and sending our own industry there.

ANYONE awake in Washington???

Now that I dug a little deeper, I have found something interesting:

Four of the old Ohio Class SSBN’s have been converted to SSGN’s, carrying 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles. I’ve gotta say whoever came up with that idea gets a big thumbs-up from me.

You're right ... a great idea ... perhaps at least 15 years old ...

However, even if one of those Ohio class boats launches a mere one-quarter of its missiles, then WW-III is on ...
