Seven months ago, in my very first column for WorldNetDaily, I told you why liberals find it so difficult to succeed at talk radio. I reviewed that column recently and saw that I failed to introduce you to a group of people called Democratic Talk Radio.
Democratic Talk Radio consists of two stalwart Democrats, Stephen Crockett and Al Lawrence, who have launched a syndicated Democratic talk-radio show and who use their website to cajole followers to lobby radio stations on their behalf.
Their website really is worth a visit. Log onto one of their message boards and make a comment critical of a Democrat or Democratic policy and see how long it is before your comment is excised and you are banned from further participation.
{snip}
Kelly's conservative, anti-Clinton credentials made him a prime target for leftist vitriol and if you want to find some real good leftist vitriol, there are few places better than DemocraticUnderground.com. Following Kelly's death, Democrats logged on to democraticunderground.com to express their "feelings." Those who are strong-of-stomach might be able to read some of the postings without any appreciable sudden weight loss.

"No I don't listen to him so my info comes from print articles." If you don't listen, why would you care? If you care, why don't you take a little time out of your busy social life and listen? I''m truly baffled.
Hell, I even listened to that crock Mario Cuomo a few times, just so I could comment intelligently about what he had to say. THAT was no fun at all.
To: RANGERAIRBORNE
At least Cuomo's show didnt last long enough that you had to listen to it multiple times.

Relax, Ranger! The reason I don't take time out of my "busy social life" and listen is because I am at WORK, and radio is not an option. I don't care for radio, am or fm, because there are too many commercials and the reception is generally poor in my area. The reason why I care is because it is important to examine whether you are calling the kettle black before thrashing a group of people. No group is perfect. People on this thread corrected me re: Rush and I admitted the mistake. Happy now?

In fairness, Rush uses call screeners who filter out non-dittos as well.
That is B. S. Rush loves to take on liberals. They go to the head of the line; and, they can't hold their own against Rush.

This is not the Rush that I listen to ... he does bubble up NON-dittoheads to the front of the line.

So do liberals get a chance to speak regularly on the show? Rush truly does bubble up to the top of the cue those that have opposing views. The only problem that I would think that he would have is that it is harder on the left to find people that can articulate their views as well as those on the right. Just compare an average days postings at FreeRepublic with DU for a cross sampling of THIS problem.

That piece was one of Michael's finest works. The left cannot abide a man of principles; a man of principles, of character is not open to their methodology of lies, corruption, and misinformation. Even some fellow left-leaners are not acceptable to them ... note Hitchens and his Clinton Whitehouse friend for whom he would not perjure himself!

You can listen to the current Rush Limbaugh show, or any show for the past two weeks, on www.rushlimbaugh.com
It is a subscription site (at least for the archives- there is lots of "free" stuff there as well.

I might suggest that the reason you didn't see many of the more extreme comments when Wellstone died was because, as I recall, around one of every ten of them read like this:
Comment #N removed by moderator.
Some people here were pretty disgraceful in the days following his death. I've seen a few threads on DemocraticUnderground in the days after some prominent conservative died, and they're significantly worse; to be fair, though, some people here also lack common decency.

I have to say that I am probably overly irritated about this- because I have had this stereotypic conversatiuon with liberals too many times: (Liberal) "Oh, I can't STAND that stupid Rush Limbaugh. And he's fat!"
(Ranger) "Do you ever listen to the show? And by the way, have you looked at Michael Moore or Teddy Kennedy lately??")
(Liberal) "NO. But I can tell that you are a racist, homophobic, Nazi buffoon!"
To: amused
What I remember from Wellstone's death was the outrage at the Dems for turning yet another supposedly sombre funeral into a political rally and bully stump.
Just like they do at EVERY funeral they have within their ranks.

And if a DU'er would come here and post their typical nonsense, they'd be banned as well. As far as wishing death on other media figures, thats just sick.
Actually I can name a few DUer's that are here. The reason that they still here has more to do with their manners than anything else. It's the hit and run posters that get banned.

Yes, Michael Kelly was justly renowned for his column on Clinton that fired around the Internet, entitled, "I Believe." That's why my latest column on United Press International (first link below) was an obituary for Kelly entitled, "I Believe" (1957-2003). He was a fine writer and a fine thinker. He would have won the Pulitzer, except that such prizes are reserved for members of the club of the leftmedia.

Please note: Yer Congresscritter will be live on RFR tonight. Open-mike! Y'all come, ya hear?
Latest column, now up on UPI, and FR, "I Believe" (1957-2003)

I might suggest that the reason you didn't see many of the more extreme comments when Wellstone died was because, as I recall, around one of every ten of them read like this: Comment #N removed by moderator. Yes, that shows the moderator doing their job and freepers alerting the mod to distasteful comments.
Some people here were pretty disgraceful in the days following his death. I've seen a few threads on DemocraticUnderground in the days after some prominent conservative died, and they're significantly worse; to be fair, though, some people here also lack common decency.
It's still the Internet after all so we can't expect everyone to be polite. Let's just say I am glad DU is getting the exposure it deserves. So many times libs have taken one post from FR and used it to characterize the site regardless if the post had been removed within minutes of being posted or whether the poster was doing a hit and run disruption. That Kelly thread sat there for days, the offensive posts left untouched with maybe 3 or 4 decent DUer's calling for shame.
Mind you the Chronilce had an article on FR dealing with our supposed rabidity and violence and DU was painted as a democrat discussion forum. The author was shocked when I sent her threads from DU dealing with among other things glee over Barbara Olsen's death and joy over the illness of Reagan, Heston and Robertson.
I won't let them paint themselves as benign. Of course this only entails attacking the far left because the DNC wouldn;t touch these poeple with a ten foot pole....well unless for their vote and donation ;-)

The idea that FReepers were elated at Wellstone's death is just one of the many fantasies DUhers take as gospel, even when there is no proof of it. Kinda like Hillary being heterosexual.
To: RANGERAIRBORNE
I notice that about the left. When one disagrees with them they are fat, ugly, stupid, etc. Quite a surprise for the self-proclaimed (but little deserved) multi-cultural left. There never seems to be an engagement of ideas. Maybe they don't have ideas of there own they can challenge with?

If you listened to Limbaugh on a regular basis, you would know that Rush enjoys arguing with liberals some who are very nasty. Rush has stated many times that he does not wish to destroy liberals but convert them.

I agree that some here do not have common decency. I disagreed with just about everything Wellstone stood for except for the general idea of making our country into the best it can be. It was the particulars where I disagreed with him. But I was genuinely sorry to see Wellstone die. Wishing death for ones political opponents is not the right way to go. Now I do wish an ignominious end to many leftist political careers or even jail in certain cases (Sharpton, etc), but I don't want them to die. I want to see them defeated in the arena of ideas.
