Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

May this dear little one overcome the obstacles and grow to healthy manhood, please dear Lord.

I think his chances should be pretty good if there aren't any further complications. Tinier ones than him have made it.

Hi, folks!

This is one of those drive-by postings 'cause I can't sit very long.

Thank you for all your prayers. I have a lot of solace in knowing that so many are talking to God about my condition.

The problem with getting second opinions is that it usually leads to third opinions.
I have one ortho who wants to cut and another one who doesn't, so I have an appointment with a hip specialist at the University of Texas Health Science Center on the 7th which will be the deciding opinion.
Searching the Web I haven't found anything good about bursaectomies. Even though it's sometimes necessary, it appears to be the prior step before hip replacement, and that's why I'm hesitant.
I'm on Darvocet now since the Vicodin quit working, and, so far, it's helping a lot with the pain.

An update on my daughter in case some of you have a loved one with MS:

She has always been on the cutting edge of new treatments for MS, volunteering for every new idea and medication.
The technique I called "blood cleansing" is actually the removal of the blood, crippling the "T" cells and putting the blood back in. The body doesn't notice the "T" cells are crippled for some time, in her case, about three months. Then the body kills the crippled cells and replaces them, and the procedure has to be done again.

A new finding in MS is the need for Vitamin D. At least twenty minutes of direct sunlight a day is recommended, and lots of milk.
This may sound easy, but a lot of MS patients are bed bound, or at least housebound, so it becomes a problem to get sunlight. The inclusion of large amounts of milk in the diet also combats osteoporosis, which is common in people, like MS patients, who are taking steroid treatments.

I thank you for your prayers, my friends, and I especially need to thank Logan's Nana. She made a four hundred mile round trip to fix food for me so that I wouldn't have to worry about cooking.
I have enough food in the fridge and freezer to feed our military forces in Iraq for a few weeks.

BG, thank you for all the pictures of our little miracle.
I'd bet you have some Easter pictures coming!!

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!

OUR LORD HAS RISEN!

Bless your heart. I haven't had time to post a whole lot or do anything other than worry about Terri. But I did get the prayer request and have been remembering you to the Father.

Wish I could whip up one of my famous honey bun cakes for you!

Take care, and you're still in my prayers.

Well, take your time on deciding what it is you want to do. YOU have to be comfortable with your decision. I will pray you make the right one. In the meantime, glad the new med is easing the pain.

Glad to hear your daughter volunteers for various treatments too. I never knew about the sunlight and Vitamin D but it makes sense since a lot of the patients never get outside. That's great information. Our wishes and prayers for her as well.

Wow, wasn't that nice of Nana to do that trip for you with all that food? Bet the troops would love to be sitting down there with you making short work of it. :)

Blessings to you on this Holy Saturday and Happy Easter!
