MOUNT SAINT HELENS, Wash. - The new lava dome inside the crater of Mount Saint Helens 50 miles north of Portland has grown a protrusion the size of a 30-story building that glows red at night.
Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey released dramatic new video of that growth. Night video shows the hot lava dome glowing red. Scientists say it is the result of rising magma, or molten lava.
The lobe began building up last month and has grown to the size of an aircraft carrier. One section has risen 330 feet in the past ten days.
Scientists still have many questions.
"We don't ultimately know how long this is going to erupt, we don't know how big it's going to be when it stops, we don't know if there's going to be any larger ones in between now and when it stops" said Seth Moran, USGS.

That was a magnitude 6.9 quake in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific.
The basic problem is that you don't know anything about geography or seismographs, and you're impervious to anyone accurately informing you of what is going on.
Ooooh, pretty.
Geography is the making and usage of maps.
You must mean geology.
Seriously, you have no idea what I do or don't know.
But I've always encouraged people to ask questions, and try to answer them honestly and graciously to the best of my ability.
But I just wanted to say that I, too, have a glowing red growth on my butt.
But do I get an article posted about me and my poor, sore butt?
Noooooo!
Thanks, cmsgop. Your pity is a, um, relief to me.
Lots of smoke this morning
Unlike Global Warming where "Scientists" have all the answers even when no one asks any questions.
