Great News! Freepers LS & Jeff Head have just released a book!
It is LS (Larry Schweikart) first novel, a thriller about 9/11, "September Day", produced by fellow FReeper Jeff Head. Only available on Amazon/B&N. Hope you'll take a look:
Check out Amazon site
About September Day
No living American can, or should, forget 9/11. But the process of trying to place this book with a major publisher has alerted me to the fact that many indeed want to do just that. Repeatedly, my agent got rejections with the words, "It's well written, but we don't want to touch that topic." They could have added, " . . . especially from a patriotic point of view", as this book offers.
Fortunately, a friend and published author in his own right, Jeff Head, assisted me in bringing this into print. Jeff's Dragon's Fury Series, a techno-thriller about World War with China and Iran that arises out of current events, is a testimony to what self-publishing of a good book can accomplish. Jeff has served as production supervisor and as "editor" in most matters of getting this into print
Although it never was accepted by a major publishing house, I don't think it was for a want of trying on the part of my agent, Scott Hoffman, and I thank him for his many labors on my behalf.
Finally, my intent was never to write a "religious" fiction, but I do hope that the Christian faith of several of the characters emerges as a reflection of the One hero above all others, Jesus Christ.
Larry Schweikart Centerville, Ohio, January 2006
SEPTEMBER DAY By Larry Schweikart, author of the best selling, "A Patriot's History of the United States" About Larry Schweikart
Larry Schweikart, a former rock drummer whose band reached the big-time concert level as the opening act for Steppenwolf, quit that career path in 1976, when he returned to Arizona State University to obtain a teaching certificate. In the process he took a history class that changed his life. From that moment on, he wanted to be a history professor .
In 1977, Larry entered the Arizona State history program to obtain a master's degree. In the process wrote a national prize-winning article on Peary's quest for the North Pole. A year later, Larry was ready for a Ph.D. program, and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he completed all exams in one year, graduating with distinction two years later after completing his dissertation, "Banking in the American South" During his M.A. and Ph.D. work, he authored two books: A History of Banking in Arizona (1982) and Trident (1984), a book Schweikart co-authored with Doug Dalgleish, which was a history/policy study of the Trident submarine program. His dissertation became his fourth book. Larry has now been a professor of history at the University of Dayton for more than 20 years, producing a total of more than 20 academic books and 50 articles.
Most recently, his book, co-authored with Michael Allen, A Patriot's History of the United States (Sentinel, 2004, has sold more than 42,000 copies and is in its fourth printing in less than a year. His newest non-fiction, "America's Victories: Why Americans Win Wars, and Will Win the War on Terror", will appear from Sentinel in May 2006.

They stole my purse 7 months prior.. used my driver's lic & printed checks. Went on a 4 day MEGA spree. The woman at various places where there was camera's looked JUST LIKE ME. tall, blonde with baseball hat & hair thru back.
They had broken into my van & took purse (and unfortunately a large amount of cash) while I was out with friends on Lake Erie. They must have seen me ... as that is how I looked that day. The purse was very well concealed & so again someone must have watched me stash stuff.
After 6 weeks, & no problems I began using account again. They had frozen it. I should have closed it. the police, bank officials etc, FBI etc were involved as it was for us a VERY large amount of money. I was liable.
Doubtful they will catch up with them.. and least they haven't yet.

LOL! I had bought and read the Patriot's History and didn't make the Freeper connection. Good book. And good luck on the new one.

Great...the prined books will be available in about two week. An eBook is available now on Amazon. Every American should read about that story...and the couragous stand by those farmers and those who supported them.

Even more interesting is my daughter is attending Dayton. I'm going to have to advise her to look up a certain prof's offerings.

How'd you know? I was looking for a great read and this looks like it. Can't wait. I'm on my way over to amazon.com now. Looks like I have found a new favorite author(s), on FR. I like this place. I have never been so well educated, up to date on current events, enlightened, and involved.... or at least not in a long time. Thanks for the heads up.

While I'm at it, I'll give you a heads up on my new non-fiction book, "America's Victories: Why the U.S. Wins Wars and Will Win the War on Terror." (This will be out on May 18):
