Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Vote Rudy! Annoy a wingnut.

Are you calling Jim a wingnut? Or just those of us with character?

“Character?”

Is that what you call gleefully calling for the banishment of everyone who disagrees with your choice of primary candidate?

Well, there is Peach, FairOpinion, Katie-O, habs4ever (not sure if that puke was a RudyBot or just a sleeper troll), Quidnuc, CeltJewLibertarian, there may be others but those are the ones who come to mind first.
You don't know what the hell you're talking about, junior. Those folks have been around longer than you have.

Well the fact is, those dearly departed former Freepers were zotted by the owner of this website, and I support him 100 percent. It doesn't matter how long anyone has been around, if they reveal themselves to be diametrically opposed to what FR stands for, they have nobody to blame but themselves for whatever their fate turns out to be.

And in case it hasn't dawned on you ABG, if McCain, Giuliani or Hiliarly get to the White House, the net result is going to be the SAME.

Don't weep for the trolls and RudyBots, FR will be the better for their departure.

I honestly see precious little difference between Hilary and Rudi. Either option is scary. If Rudi wins the nomination, the choice will be between 2 dems, and the conservatives will have no representation unless it is 3rd party

The Rudy supporters don’t want to argue the facts, it all emotion.

Well, emotions mixed with falsehoods.

I thought he made some damn good points during his brief visit

Well, I haven't enjoyed this as much as you have.

I'm going to miss a lot of the people who were Freepers yesterday morning and banned today.

But she got really mean all of the sudden for some reason. A lot of the women did, it was uncharacteristic. I suspect Rudy has some magic potion or spell, which would also explain why he keeps getting pretty good women to sleep with him.

Many women get all squishy for candidates who are all for abortion - especially if the candidate acts "conservative" on other issues. An unexpected pregnancy, especially at an inconvenient time, is a huge, expensive pain in the rear - yeah, it results in a kid who has value, but it's still an unpleasant and costly experience.

Guys like Rudy offer an alternative. Yes, both we and they "know" it's wrong, but many out there - including on Free Republic - weigh the "unpleasant & costly" aspect of giving birth heavier than the wrong of offing the kid. Or they know "good" people who have come to this conclusion. When anyone gets an option they value taken away, or is proposed to be taken away, they get testy.

Of course, it's not them that gets ripped limb from limb, burned with acid, or has their brains sucked out, so no harm (to them) no foul, right? That's why they get angry at us pro-lifers reminding them of the reality of abortion - it might force them to consider just what butchery was committed when they or their friends or family had one. Hence the insults, hence the "meanness"... in my opinion.

What the hell are you talking about? He posted a list of suspected, in his opinion trolls, and I gave him a response. Don’t get too wound up. I think he’s off the mark, and was letting JimRob know my opinion.

“And for some Republicans, what is most important is winning, the issues come second.”

That is why Party operatives are the lowest imho. I like the grassroots Republicans.

“It’s early in the game. Giuliani is in a position to capitalize on all this right now, but I doubt very seriously that the closer this gets to the primaries Giuliani actually makes it as the nominee.”

I agree. But it will take hard work by grassroots Repubs to assist in that end.

My 9 kicks harder than the .44 which kicks harder than the .45

It’s also the one that has the bad habit of “biting” those who shoot it if they forget to keep their left thumb positioned correctly.

That was a joke goober. LOL LOL

You didn't sound like you were in a joking mood when you were whining about your posts being deleted by the mods in that thread last month.

But you go ahead and spin it whatever way saves as much of your pride and ego as possible.

Maybe nobody will notice.

So are you dismissing the article out of hand then, since it was printed in the village voice? Does it make the facts of the story any less true?

And if it’s old - well, rudy was mayor from 94 until 2002 - you’re not going to find newer stories about him being in office, because all his “accomplishments” are from that era.

Funny how you have all your posts railing on about the nanny state, but when people provide you with examples of how rudy constantly sides with big government, from smoking bans to cracking down on dancing or wanting to confiscate cars from people ACQUITTED of drunk driving, you shrug it off. That’s very odd for someone who rails against the nanny state and the overreaching government that comes with it.
