Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Comparing Rudy to Reagan on marriage would have been like comparing John sKerry to George Washington because both of them married incredibly wealthy widows.

It is beneath contempt.

You said:

““Did it ever occur to you that most by far just don’t want to be pregnant and that abortion is the only way out they have today?”

And my reply was ‘ABSTINENCE’ which was my response to your question of ‘just don’t WANT to be pregnant’.

If you don’t want to be pregnant then DON’T GET PREGNANT!

After the fact is irrelevant to the cause of pregnancy.

This thread reminds me of ‘Crimson Tide Free For All’ when Alabama is hiring another new coach..
http://www.al.com/forums/tide/

Some folks there will not accept the fact that Bear Bryant is dead and gone. There will never be another like him.
Some folks here will not accept the fact that Ronald Reagan is dead and gone. There will never be another like him.
The faster some Alabama fans and some Freepers come to grips with the facts, the better off everyone will be.

“Turning the Republican party into a minority party that can’t win elections is not a positive thing.”

Winning elections by having to sacrifice your principals isn’t either.

It can’t be ‘anybody but a democrat’ anymore. Because if you sacrifice your beliefs for a ‘win’ then you haven’t won anything.

I’m starting to wonder if this is a contest and someone has promised a Rudy bumper sticker to anyone who can get banned before the 5000th post.

“Yep. The Rudy Rooters are hard core leftists through and through.”

I’m beginning to think so. Their rhetorical arguments are from the left. I don’t know why they aren’t at DU, and I’m not trying to be insulting.

Once, during the Bushbot wars, I was so mad at the prez, I got an account over there and started posting, figuring maybe I could be a right wing fly on the wall. I selected my posts very carefully, and stayed about a week. But the premises of their threads were so far left I got bored.

I can honestly say I wasn’t badly treated, but they did’nt know I was a Freeper either. I don’t even remember what screenname I used.

"Real conservatives can deal with opposing opinions."

Get real!

Real conservatives would immediately rule out an abortionist, gay agenda advancing, NARAL pushing, illegal alien sanctioning national security risk, gun grabbing, constitution trampling, absolute disaster and joke of a man from any consideration whatsoever for the office of President of the United States and leader of the free world. Ideology matters. Character matters. Life matters.

There's nothing to debate. You're either pro God, family, Life and Liberty or your not. He's not. End of story.

I think it is important that we all write to our local/state and national GOP offices telling them we do not want Rudy as our candidate. They need to know we are not all willing to settle for an R beside a liberal’s name.

The true colors of the Rudyites have certainly been displayed over the past several weeks.

They have even started their own anti-Freeper sight where they have “closed” threads where they criticize FR and conservatives in general. At least when the DUmmies are criticizing us they have enough integrity to do it out in the open and don’t spend some of their time over here pretending to be conservatives.

Now, now, as an Auburn grad living in AL, I can appreciate your comment. All is well with Saban for now, and he is putting the pressers in their place. The fans are treating him like he is the second coming of Bear. All will be well unless he loses that one game the third weekend in November.

HOWEVER, it is not impossible to expect that Alabama could become a powerhouse again with the right coach.

I am not looking for Reagan. I AM looking for a man, yes a man, who will NOT compromise conservative values. That sir, is not an impossibility to achieve.

“Some time back I was quite agitated about the leadership (or lack thereof) displayed by the Bush Administration and GOP. I was running all over threads blasting them for CFR, the Farm Bill, Prescription Drug Plan, etc.

Then Jim posted a thread stating that this forum would be used to support the GOP in that election cycle. At that point I had a choice: continue to post my views or respect his wishes.”

I did the same. I have been angry at the president more often than not during the second term. When Jim asked that we cool the Bushbot rhetoric, I took it to heart, though I’ve never been told anything personally. I cooled my rhetoric, spent some time on other sites, and tried to find common ground when I was here. I was rooting for the party and certainly voted. It wasn’t that hard.

But the Rudy people often act like they have third degree burns when it comes to their candidate. Many, but not all, are deliberately confrontational and don’t even make an effort to refute lengthy and well thought out posts. This is a good board, the best in the world. I’ve visited the others. We are fortunate to have it.

There is no comparison whatsoever between Ronald Reagan and Rudy Giuliani. Rudy is an absolute disgrace as a man and a nightmare to conservatism.

If you continue trying to tear down great conservatives to Rudy’s low life level, you’re account will be banned. And that’s a campaign promise you can take to the bank.
