(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.
The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

I haven’t read all the posts, but after 28 years in typesetting and graphic arts I have a few questions:
Since this is obviously a reprinted document, supposedly created from an image made from the original document, this should accurately represent the characteristics of the typewriter that created it.
Understand that typewriters all produced documents that had proportional spacing. In other words, depending on the typewriter, there we always 10 or 12 characters per inch. The same amount of space was allotted to a “.” as to a “W”.
Also know that you could tell if something was added later by the fact that it was almost impossible to get the paper back into the typewriter exactly the same way and the new type would be slightly out of alignment.
Also know that typewriters have certain characteristics that allow you to identify documents produced by them. If, for instance, the typewriter places an “I” slightly lower than the rest of the text, it will do so throughout the document.
With this in mind, I have a few questions:
1. The “R” in “BARACK” is lighter and descended. This could be caused by the use of correction fluid and a retyping, but such things were not commonly used on official documents. Also it being descended indicates that this correction was made after the paper was removed and then reinserted.
2. The lower case “a” seems shifted over in just some of document. It is clearly shifted in “Kapiolani”, “Kalanianaole”, “Hawaii”, “African”, and “Caucasian.” It does not seem to be shifted in “East Africa” or “Kansas.”
3. The spacing between the first “n” and second “o” in “Honolulu” is not the same in the two instances of the word.
4. The “K” in “Kansas” is shifted up here but nowhere else on the document.
5. The double “i” in “Hawaii” should be identical, but are not.
6. There are areas of distortion around most of the type consistent with the creation of a new document from an old image, however the amount of distortion is strangely inconsistent. For instance, the first “Honolulu” has very little distortion surrounding it, but the second and third “Honolulu”’s in the document have quite a bit.
There are other issues, but upon cursory inspection I would say:
1. There were two (at least) typewriters used in the creation of this document.
2. Corrections and/or changes were made to the original document.
If I can see this, I would really like to see what professional expert would make of this document...
“OBAMA” is all caps and “Oahu” isn’t.
I’m NOW awake in L.A. Will sift thru the details if it’s legit or not.
Look at the “K” in Wichita, Kansas. It’s tilted. Not like the “K” in Kenya.
Obama can produce a document when it suits his personal gain but he let an Army Doctor be prosecuted and sent to prison.
That is just totally disgusting!
Do you see anything other than a variable vertical shift in capital letters? That happens if you don't press the shift key all the way down when typing a capital letter. You could avoid this if you had a nice fully electric typewriter like an IBM Selectric where hitting the shift key changed how the type ball was turned, but on mechanical typewriters the shift key manually tilted the whole set of typebars. If you didn't press it all the way down the capitals would appear at different heights, as shown by the large number of red circles on my high school typing class papers :-(.
Blow to Trump? Trump is dictating the agenda. Next will be school transcripts, medical records, passports, etc.
I admit I’m confused. It looks exactly like the short form Certificate of Live Birth that they previously released. Is anyone seeing any valid difference here?

And it still shows the mother to be only 18, yet another issue with Obama’s eligibility. It still shows race as “African” instead of Negro, which I really don’t believe they used back then.

As for the theory that jus sanguinis citizenship is required for someone to be a natural-born citizen, I respectfully disagree. Congress by law provides for who is a U.S. citizen at birth, and is someone is a U.S. citizen at birth pursuant to the U.S. law in effect at the time such person was born, then that person is a natural-born citizen.
It was copied onto security paper. Jeez, I'm amazed by the capacity of folks to hear hoofbeats and look for zebras.
I think that the original baby of this serial number died, and Barack took it’s place.

What has been established is Obama's father was a British subject at birth and:
If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least FIVE of which had to be after the age of 14. It appears that Obama's mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means she was shy of the 19 years of age required by the law. In other words, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. Corroborating is WND: Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: "If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen & because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for '10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 14.'" He then points out Ann Dunham, Obama's mother, was 18 when Obama was born "so she wouldn't have met the requirement of five years after the age of 14."
Stanley Ann Dunham was born November 29, 1942. Barack Hussein Obama, her son, was born August 4, 1961. Her age, at his birth, was 18 years, 8 months, 5 days. To be absolutely exacting; he was born 248 days past her 18th birthday. She does not meet the five year requirement to confer her U.S. citizenship status to her son, whether he was born in Hawaii or in Kenya; it really makes no difference. The address has been debunked by many sources that the Obamas never lived there.
So, we're back to square one, What is he hiding and Why?
He thinks this is over and "the majority of the American people" will side with him. Man, does he have a surprise coming.

Now on to SCOTUS to rule on the definition of Natural Born Citizen.
This revelation will give even more credence to The States pursuing eligibility legislation. This debacle should never be permitted to happen again.
