All of the bad stuff started with the Gardisil smears. Trying to point out facts about the drug was met with insults. After a while, I gave up trying to be reasonable and jumped into the fray. If some FReepers didn’t want to educate themselves on how the FDA approves vaccines and medicines, and continued to post flat-out lies, then those are posters who weren’t worth being reasonable with anymore. We had press releases from known quacks posted as front-page news, solely because it would harm Rick Perry, and it was done by Palin supporters.

I find it funny that the most rabid Palin posters, such as Norm Lenhart, now try to walk back their words and actions from the past month. It happened, and I have a long memory.

I think lots of people would now like an answer to all those questions asked by Conservatives4palin. I hope someone on Fox askes her.

Thanks for asking, dear reaganaut!

I'm off the Cain bandwagon for several reasons:

1. He doesn't have a voting record on moral issues, e.g. abortion, gay activist agenda - I have no evidence that he has the courage of conviction.

2. He remarked that gun control is a state matter when the RKBA is a Constitutional Amendment indicating his lack of expertise.

3. His reaction to the Washington Post hit piece on Perry (the racial slur on the rock) showed no judicial restraint which is necessary for a C.I.C., e.g. the nuclear football.

I believe he wants to be a conservative leader - but he needs more than that to get my support.

I trust Sarah Palin no matter what. Would I like to have seen her say she was not going to run earlier? Of course. It didn't work out that way.

Its difficult to determine if she would have won or not. No one knows that.

I saw a post earlier on here that alluded to the supposition that conservative women are so jealous of her they would not have supported her.If there is any truth to that it could have been a huge problem.

I really don't know.

The GOP lost its way when they ran Bob Dole in 1996 and undermined the congressional freshman class of 1994. It’s been a party of moderates for 15 years now. Rick Perry is much further to the right of Dole, W. Bush, and McLame, yet even he isn’t pure enough for some. Hell, the Bush family even tried to primary him in Texas last year.

Romney is THE establishment candidate ... PERIOD. Any of the other candidates would be something new, fresh, and much more conservative than the previous DC insiders that we’ve run.

So on the strength of Bristol saying "she(Sarah) definitely knows". You are willing to dump one of the best and brightest our side has come up with in along time?

When you consider the litmus test applied by our side to our candidates vs. what the left expects out of their candidates, and the stakes involved, its no wonder there are so many libs elected.

You are not a chump. She fed a need we all have for a savior for our nation.

I think the savior is going to have to be each one of us. This just means instead of letting Sarah say what we feel, being our voice; that we will have to speak for ourselves!

Maybe you could give it an f’n rest for 24 hours. You’re not winning any converts with your gloating and holier than thou attitude.

Unbelievable to me some of the comments that I am reading here.
She owes explanations ... the country is doomed ...she will now be someone’s VP on a ticket .. she will run in the future .... she betrayed us .... she’s a coward.

Why not just say if she doesn’t run you’ll hold your breath and turn blue.

OMG .. some people. I said weeks .. MONTHS ago that she would not run that she was better off outside MAKING politicians. That she could have a great power outside that she could never have inside helping to pick and mold candidates. I was summarily slammed, branded and abused.

People get a grip ... there are still a couple good contenders. maybe not your ideal picks, but GOOD people who can make the country sound again.

PROMOTE them. SUPPORT Them.

Cain is IMPRESSIVE.
Bachmann is still a good choice.

If you like someone else .. fine .. SUPPORT Them. If not educate yourselves. She was not the only one to run that can do what must be done in our country to restore us to the great nation we once were. She in all reality would have had a very hard time passing any legislation with so many anti-palins out there. And though very tempting, I wouldn’t want her doing things by executive order anymore than I want Obama doing it.

We need to replace ALL the Marxists / socialists and get a good congress, senate and president again to straighten out the country and it is going to take a generation.

DO NOT LET THE MEDIA drive a candidate down our throats.
And by no means should we split and go third party. It only ensures that we get 4 more years of Obama.

Stay focused, we must rid ourselves of the Marxists taking over.

End of rant .. start your slamming

RE :"Understood you don’t like Romney. Few if any here do. Problem is IMHO, the key here is to get rid of zero and the regime and get as good a conservative as we can get in office. If you are looking for perfection......good luck"

There is a huge difference between 'in-'perfection and liberal RINO Romney. I am going into this with one deal-breaker, NO ROMNEY. He would be WORSE than Obama in many ways. Otherwise I will consider anyone else in the current field, even would have Palin if she was going to run.

Right now Cain is looking pretty good to me compared to the others...but that could change.

FREEPERS, that too many of them live in a bubble. They think that everyone in this country thinks they way they do

Exactly. Freepers are a faction of a faction of a faction. Which is why we got insane posts like "Palin will get 80% of the national vote" from people who are permanently hearing impaired due to living 24/7 in the echo chamber.

Romney is still a serious threat to win the nomination, because you can't zot RINOS and moderates off the GOP voting rolls like they're zotted from FR.

I would prefer a Cain/Palin nomination, but either will do. ;-)

She fed a need we all have for a savior for our nation.

Most Christians would say that there is only one savior and that he fulfills that role for all nations.

I think the idea that a political candidate can be considered a "savior" is dangerous and totally at odds with what America is supposed to be about.

RE:”If it’s not you, then my apologies. I couldn’t figure out from the post if it was an “I told you so” (i.e., that she’s NOT running) or that you were still saying she is running. Which is it?

It shouldnt take much to figure that out.

While you are pointing to : #1303
How would you answer C4Ps six questions? They take on a completely different context then they did a week ago, wouldnt you say?

Laz - don't misquote me. I said Palin's decision was "smart," not "brilliant." She DOES need to polish her image, but I didn't say that I know for sure that she can do it, just that she needs to. I don't think she's dumb at all, but I'm not sure she's presidential material. They are two very different things.

I am not one of those who think Palin is our only or best hope, and I've also wondered on other threads if she has become addicted to celebrity. But few politicians aren't addicted to celebrity or a high opinion of themselves. Palin isn't unique in that respect, she's just BETTER at being a celebrity than most politicians, which is why it gets noticed.

And I still strongly resist the idea that she's a coward and a quitter.
