They could save a bundle by going back to the 1911.

I wish they would choose this. Maybe then I could find ammo again.

Go back to the .45 American Commie Popper (ACP)...

Problem solved.

Why did they ever abandon the M1911A?

The .45ACP was designed after the .38 Colt revolver showed to be worthless against Moslem Juramentados.

The designers could go back and remember that the PUCKLE gun was designed to fired square bullets to use against Moslems.

I love a.45.

I have little hands, and thought a smaller caliber would be better for me.

I tried a Kimber .45 and it was so stable I hit the center EVERY shot.

It made my .38 and 380TCP seem “wobbly”.

Of course, those Wobbly Widdle Guns are easier to CONCEAL.

So I agree with you, FRiend.

The M9 doesn't meet it for a multitude of reasons," Easlick said. "It's got reliability issues; the open slide design allows contaminates in.

A prudent person would certainly hope the people responsible for procuring this "MHS" actually knew the difference between "contaminates" and "contaminants."

We had a harder hitting pistol called the 1911. Silly Generals.

.45 ACP because shooting more than once is silly, but if you need more power in a semi auto try one of these. I hunt deer with a converted 1911.

Been there, done that. Here's the solution (once again):

But of course, Uncle Sam will waste millions before he figures it out...

Wikipedia:

American units fighting Moro guerrillas during the Philippine-American War using the then-standard Colt M1892 revolver, in .38 Long Colt, found it to be unsuitable for the rigors of jungle warfare, particularly in terms of stopping power, as the Moros had very high battle morale and frequently used drugs to inhibit the sensation of pain.

The Moros were Muslims.

The M1911 was the solution.

Glock 10 mil.

I lent one to by buddy before we went overseas - he took some pistols out to the sand pit and shot at an old pickup tailgate. The 9s would punch the wall and rattle around inside, but the 10 mils went through the whole unit like butter.

He took the pistol to his CO and said “Why aren’t we issued these?”

The CO said “Good question!”

1. Within days of this new handgun being adopted, every street cop in the country will have one.

2. The law that prevents ordinary US citizens from owning bazookas and machine guns will be expanded to cover this new handgun. Excessively severe penalties will be dealt to any citizen possessing this weapon.

Another vote for the .45 - it doesn’t have to be a 1911, although if you’re looking for a track record that one will be a little tough to beat. The pistol has a fairly limited combat utility but if you need one the bad guys are up close and personal and putting a great big hole in them trumps a little bitty hole.

This may be a repeat, but leaving the 9mm behind also reduces or eliminates the ability of our guys scarf up ammo from the bad guys in a bad situation with no other options. Someone correct me, but I think we would then be the only nation using .45 ACP.

USMC recently ordered several thousand new production .45acp 1911's with a under frame rail for accessories from Colt. I guess they saw the light.

The grips are kind of weird, though.

I think the Sig 226 was the winner in the last set of pistol trials. If they are going to drop the 9x19 then .40S&W is probably the best choice to marry power and capacity. But we’ll see which company is most homosexual friendly.
