Screw the Patriot Act. If they cared about security, they would stop importing foreigners.

Funny. I read that we need to renew the Patriot Act because of all the people we're letting in from terrorist countries and all the people we're letting fly back and forth to and from terrorist countries on U.S. passports.

You know, we've got to be able to keep an eye on all the terrorist scumbags we rolled out the red carpet for!

The Patriot Act is an OVERREACH of government.

Any American that is for this, while the same government has left the boarders wide open in a post 911 world, is completely brain washed. Anyone THAT gullible to think the government loves them like Barney the Dinosaur is a lost Soul.

Our freedoms are absolute and infinite...., until they infringe on someone else freedoms.

The federal government was actually was actually DESIGNED to not get much done. It’s better to deliberate for long periods of time, than to pass legislation quickly that you regret later (Patriot Act).

You’re absolutely right. But McConnell and his ilk do not want the Patriot Act amended AT ALL. He would not allow any amendments and does not like the USA Freedom Act because it amends the Patriot Act. He made sure the USA Freedom Act did not achieve cloture so that he could push senators up against a wall so they would just HAVE to renew the law unattended, or at least extend it.

But Paul’s not playing. And it’s McConnell who’s now backed against a wall, forced to “submit or else!”

The shine is really coming off Cruz rather quickly, his support of a secret trade deal that is alleged to really be an open boarders deal and he’s support of the blatantly unconstitutional Patriot Act are causing me to rethink my support of him this primary season. Maybe Jeff Sessions will get in the race.

So what are the chances that Paul’s tactic is going to result in anything other than a delay?

Why are we all bowing down to a bunch of turd world terrorists. Giving up our freedom is not worth the price.

Pray America is waking

You don’t get to be a United States Senator (or a governor) without knowing how to play ball. At this point, we’ve got to take a chance on a candidate who will transcend his personal interests and background.

Not Impossible. George Washington could have been president for life. More recently, House Speaker Carl Albert (D-OK) could have easily made himself President in the wake of Watergate, but didn’t just because he didn’t think it was right.

My feelings exactly.

If the government had worked to secure the borders and begun serious interior enforcement of immigration laws on 9/12/2001 as I expected them to following the worst attack on America since Pearl Harbor, we might not need to be spying on everyone.

When I saw that GWB had actually decreased interior and border enforecement, I knew there was no intention of stopping the invasion/cheap labor importation/colonization of our country.

The rest is window dressing when you leave the back door open.

The shine is really coming off Cruz rather quickly,

Senator Cruz is increasingly looking like someone whose words and actions tell different stories. Twice now in little over a week, we've seen him standing tall next to Obama.

His supporters should be along shortly to tell us that sending jobs overseas, replacing American workers here with low-wage immigrants and illegal spying on American citizens are issues voters don't really care about and we shouldn't let Cruz's support of these policies blind us to the greatness that is Senator Cruz.

Cruz or lose!!!

Which makes him the best person to be President being the only one who understands the Constitution.

Paul is right to oppose the Patriot Act.

I was horribly disappointed in Bush when he said islam is a religion of peace and then created the Department of Homeland Security and lauded the Patriot Act.

So many government laws and agencies are named for the opposite of what they really do.

“Damn!. Looks like the Patriot Act is going to get renewed.”

Of course it is. Lots of so-called conservatives talk the talk, very few walk it.

They’re all bought and paid for. Every. Single. One. Including junior. Including Cruz.

there aren't many times that Obama, Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, Speaker John A. Boehner, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid all agree on something.
There aren't many times when Rand Paul disagrees with Obama.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

You started your entire post by saying this:

“Cruz voted for the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership)”

You are completely lying.

Walker is only ONE SEMESTER SHORT of a college degree. He decided to get on with life & a new job rather than go for the paper. Easily explainable to the vast majority of Americans, if not the ivy league elitists.
