Rally For America - Milledgeville, GA....3-8-03
dansangel; eyespysomething

Posted on 03/08/2003 3:20:57 PM PST by dansangel

Today was a great day in the town of Milledgeville, GA. A pro-Military and pro-America rally was organized by fellow FReeper eyespysomething. It took place in front of the courthouse in the downtown historical district.

Approximately 200+ pro-America people turned out for the events which started with a color-guard presentation and various guest speakers. A singer was present, giving wonderful renditions of patriotic songs for the crowd.

There were only 2 anti-American demonstrators present and accounted for. They boldly displayed thier "War for Oil" and anti-president Bush placards at the rear of the crowd.

LBGA, .45MAN and myself arrived late having totally misjudged the ride-time to the rally from Atlanta. We left Norcross, GA at 10:00 a.m. and arrived to the rally at noon, a half-hour after it began. Because of this, I do not have details on who all the speakers were that eyespysomething lined up, but am hoping she'll post additional information to the thread.

LBGA spoke about her son who is stationed overseas and was very clear (directed to the anti-America duo) as to how important it is at this time to support our troops deployed overseas. Another couple with two sons in the Marine Corps. spoke, tearfully asking for prayers for all of the military who are deployed to protect our freedoms.

Let us all take the time each day to pray for our President as well as all of the men and women who are making great sacrifices to ensure that we are free to live in this great country of ours. We ask for the safety and protection of all of our troops. We ask our dear Father to grant comfort to the families and also that no one take our wonderful freedoms for granted. We ask our dear Father to give us the wisdom to thank our military members and to elevate them in daily prayer.

We ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen

Help!

I took some digital pictures at a small "Support the Troops" rally in Columbia, S.C.

I would appreciate advice/help on how and where I could post them for viewing on FR.

Thanks in advance!

I am new here. I cannot say how proud I am of this movement. Congrats to all that participated in the rally @ Milledgville. I would have loved to have been there but a previous commitment kept me from it. I was there however in spirit. I live in NW GA and hope to take a group to the rally @ CP Atlanta next Saturday. God Bless You All.

Don't you all look fabulous! And what a beautiful town you are in too. I hope you were able to meet many future FReepers :) Thanks for your ping, Dansangel, and your super organizing, eyespy. You really had a successful rally; speakers, good weather, stylish apparel and everything! One of my favorite kinds of threads on FR is After Rally Reports, and I am so happy to have pictures included. It's almost like being there with you!
Milledgeville, GA & FReepers BUMP!

Good job eyespysomething, dansangel and .45Man. Nice pictures.

Very nice prayer for our troops at the start of the thread, dansangel.

I'm going to post flyers at work and locally to try and build up a nice contingent from Douglas county.

As far as parking goes, Miss VC and I will probably park at hightower and ride the train. I believe there is a station under the CNN/Philips Arena/World Congress Center complex, which is right across the street from Centennial park. We've ridden the train to several events downtown and have never had a problem and I hate to park my car downtown.

I've got paintball matches today, so I won't be able to answer any replies till later this afternoon, but, Let's give them hell, Georgia Freepers!

Thanks, {{{{{{{Julie}}}}}}}

The shirt earned me some dirty looks when we went to have lunch later on. LBGA said a woman patron gave us all a withering look as we walked by on our way out. So sorry I missed it. I would've stared a hole right through her pathetic body had I known.

Oh well, her loss.

Hi DrNo,

The trick is to rent some webspace on the internet in which to store your photos for link-up. Many people that I know (myself included) use domania.com. I had one problem with them last fall in which all of my graphics were lost, but that was an isolated and rare incident. Your ISP may offer free web storage as part of membership (earthlink gives 10 mb of space free with each monthly account). You may want to check into that.

Once you have your phtos uploaded to a website, you can link them to FR using the < img src="photo's url here" > html command.

It certainly does, {{{{{{{jwfiv}}}}}}}.

It's even more apparent how beautiful it is when there are so many together at one gathering.
