The War in Iraq is Wrong

Posted on 04/09/2003 9:46:29 AM PDT by Jonathan AG

Ban me, but have the courage to accept the truth.

This War is wrong. Many innocent Iraqis have died. Many Americans have died.

Iraq is in chaos. No food. No water. No power.

I don't care if staged events involving a few criminals and looters make the people appear to be happy. Ask the ones who had their lives destroyed by American bombs.

There are no WMDs. America will remain in Iraq long enough to:

A) plunder its resouces

B) ensure a Bush election victory in spite of massive deficits and a terrible economy.

THIS WAR IS WRONG.

Evidently you acquired what passes for a brain substitute from the trash heap behind Good Will Industries.

I suppose it's possible that your childhood biases acquired by osmosis from Commie loving, USA hating excuses for parents may have warped the block on your shoulders.

But I think it's more likely that you just never learned to think critically nor examine evidence with more than 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% insight, awareness, healthy reality testing etc.

If you have THIS MUCH HORRENDOUS TROUBLE AND UTTER FAILURE at detecting truth from fiction; reality from delusion and sanity from insanity--perhaps you'd best check into the nearest mental hospital post haste. IT IS GOING TO GET WORSE FROM HERE ON OUT.

When the very fabric of physical reality seems to start becoming routinely like the TWILIGHT ZONE, there will be no hope for your sanity.

Given your extremely poor reality testing would, I suppose, also explain why you'd post such a thing on a bright, aware, informed, discerning, full-of-critical-thinking-skilled forum like FREE REPUBLIC.

Perhaps you're a delusional, ignorant masochist. Are you sure you're not related to Sadddddammmnnnn Hussein?

It is apparent that your limited view of the conflict has been that of NPR and the BBC. Just in case you havn't caught on, the critical infrastructure is intact. Any starving masses were that way BEFORE the US intervened. If anything, some of these people are better off in the rubble of a short and (almost) intense war. I have seen nothing that indicates that we have oppressed the people of Iraq. Nay, what I see is a group of liberal idiots that are absolutley flabbergasted that the Starbucks Strategists were so wrong. Please, please, please... show me the "thousands of Iraqi dead", show me the hordes of dead US servicemen. You know why you can't??? Because they aren't there. Your beloved NPR talking head, Ann Garrelson tried to go to one of the Iraqi hospitals that was "overflowing with civilian casualties... only to find that there were beaucoup SOLDIERS! there, hiding and injured.

to every turn that the liberal reporters tried to take to demonstrate US atrocities, they had to make substantial retractions. There is talk among the raghead pundits that the US may fabricate evidence of WMD's, I offer that your beloved liberal press will undertake to fabricate stories of atrocities to placate their depression. It is depressing, isn't it... to discover that your underlying dogma is flawed. That the majority of America DOES NOT agree with your touchy-feely version of reality, but, believes that there are some things worth fighting for. Your anti-war rehetoric is hollow and without substance.

Your hero, Slick Willie, now is attempting to foist a level of relevence on the UN so that he can be an "effectual" Secretary General. Yes, I predict that "Willie-boy" will use this as a lever to dislodge Kofi Annon and have himself appointed as the new "God of one-world governance". But, it is imparative that he return the UN to a level of prominence. So all the anti-war oat-meal brains will begin to wail about secret plans to invade North Korea, all the time praying to whatever it is that they pray to (Hillary?) that the NK launches a first strike against the US. That way, Billiy can be the world peacemaker, Hillary can take her position as the "President" and the rest is a conservative nightmare. But, I don't think that they can pull it off. I think that Kim Jong Il is crazy, but not stupid. I think that Iraq will be an object lesson for him. The level of North Korean belligerence has dropped of dramatically since the war started. So, unless the mush-heads are able to instigate a grassroots "wag-the-dog" program, which I don't think that they have the mental coherence to carry off, then they will merely demonstrate thier own limited brainpower.

I know this is a vanity in a vanity, but, I have pretty much had my fill of the idiocy of the left. Long on rehtoric, short in action and devoid of intelligence pretty much sums up the ideology of the left.

Semper F**king Fi

Eat me airhead!

Iraqi boys in a village near the city of Najaf in Central Iraq appear glad to be back in school April 4, for the first time since the war started. Is this a series thread?

This is just a blatant opportunity to give us reasons to mention wine, cheese, moose, rats, all-your-zot-, etc.
As long as JimRob wants to spare the bandwidth, I'm down with that. Uh, yeah.

The US and UK invaded a sovereign nation without provocation or proof of anything or either country having been harmed. The US and UK invaded a sovereign nation stating it had WMD. Then it was for regime change. Then it was to liberate its' people. Yeah?

So when do we liberate Syria, Iran, N. Korea, Cuba and the hundreds of other countries where dictators have free reign to murder their people, steal their lands, and all other atrocities. Why was Iraq so important at this point in time? One word - OIL. And now that's a certainty, so why not go on to try and control the rest of the Middle East?

I don't care how many Iraqi's are dancing in the streets or tearing down statues or looting. The US and the UK murdered innocent civilians. They targeted and assasinated people, including journalists and envoys from other countries.

This was an illegal, immoral and unjust INVASION of a country that was practically defenseless. And no amount of propaganda bull shit will change that. And we have lost the battle for hearts and minds. Just like Afghanistan. We will remain in Iraq and the ME for years to come and the American taxpayer is paying for it. This was not done in my name. It's being waged in the name of greed, hegemony and OIL.

How'd I do Jonathan?

No,

This is a series idiot

with a hugh vacuum above his shoulders and Carlsbad Caverns for a mouth.

As a shrink, I've seen a fair number of village idiots in my day. And then there's the global idiots Dillbo and her hideous heinous--bwitch Shrillery.

But this guy takes the cake. Perhaps he and Baghdad Bob are bed partners?

Their excuse for reality testing seems to be on a par.

Oh, I see, the war is wrong. You're attempting to argue about the MORAL implications of war.

OK, lets assume that in war, people die. However, we know that the SOCIALIST Ba'ath Party (don't hear it called that too much in our lovely liberal media, but that is it's full name) is responsible for the murder, rape, torture and oppression of millions of Iraqi, Kuwaiti, Kurd, and Iranian citizens.

They have used poison gas (commonly called WMD) against citizens of Iraq and Iran. They've oppressed the religious majority (Shiites) and ethnic minorities (Kurds) with single-minded determination and heinous methods.

The SOCIALIST Ba'ath Party led by Saddam Hussein and his relatives invaded Kuwait in an unprovoked attack. When they were defeated in the first Gulf war, the terms of peace assigned to them were clear and concise. They have consistently violated this agreement for the past TWELVE years (aided by the foot-draggers in the UN-SOCIALIST France, Germany, Russia and China).

The UN complained-in a barely audible whisper, but DID nothing to stop the regime from starving it's own people by diverting the food from the oil for food program. The UN has followed the exact course people like you always proscribe. Peace at any price. Moan, bewail, cover you eyes, but for God's Sake, don't ever fight for freedom, justice and equality. Never, NEVER, fight to eliminate a collaborator who has helped others to attack you.

We have been more than patient. WE withdrew the first time the UN wailed about not toppling Saddam's evil regime (led by SOCIALIST France, Germany, Russia and China). WE tried our damnedest to get the UN to live up to it's responsibility to enforce it's own resolutions, to ENSURE Iraq had no WMD, or other prohibited weapons and equipment like night-vision, long range missiles, jamming devices (they balked-led by and in some cases supplied by, SOCIALIST France, Germany, Russia and China) and to ensure that the oil-for-food program was used to help the CITIZENS not Saddam. Instead, these shipments were diverted to regime control and used to smuggle prohibited equipment into the hands of the SOCIALIST Ba'ath Party.

Of course to a philosopher such as yourself, genocide, rape, murder, cultural/religious oppression mean nothing- as long as it's brown-skinned people killing other brown-skinned people. Oh, and to you brown-skinned people killing whites or whites killing whites is just dandy, too. Hell, your SOCIALIST heroes, Stalin, Lenin, Pol-Pot, Hitler, Kim Jong Il, and Saddam have killed tens if not hundreds of millions over the years. Did you ever 'protest' that? Did it ever cost you one damn tear or a moment's grief? Of course not! But those American Capitalists better not cause one single moment's suffering to anyone on the road to freedom from fear, murder and oppression. I mean, after all, to you it's all about IDEALS, right?

It's certainly a paragon example of

absolutely bankrupt reality testing and

raging, rampant, rumbling, retching

idiocy.

Therein, I suppose, is some merit for amusement as how low the somewhat human critters can go.
