I got drafted today to be the Presiding Judge at a precinct in Southwest Houston, TX next Tuesday. I need to recruit one Alternate Judge and two to four Clerks. Some of us are required to attend training on the electronic voting machines. The classes will be Thursday and Friday night. These are paid positions ($8.50/hr IIRC). I was the Republican Alternate Judge in a Democrat-majority precinct in Texas on 11/2/10. Got caught up at work, so I now have time to report what I learned: 1. We need more volunteers to serve as Judges, Alternate Judges, and Poll Watchers! Just had a new idea which I want to share. I have learned that one of the easiest vote fraud scams in Texas is for an activist to obtain extra Voter Registration Certificates (VRC). In Texas, you can vote without ID if you have a VRC. The dim activists steal them from mailboxes when the County mails them or they create non-existent phantom voters or they obtain them by buying them from people willing to sell their vote. Just went out and voted at Early Voting. The polling place was at the Palm Center on Griggs Road which is in Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee's district. Observations: 1. Democrat turnout was very slow. The best way to prevent vote fraud is to BE THERE. Vote fraud is one of the greatest threats to our republic. In some precincts I have seen 10% or more of the total votes that were fraudulent. Democrats have held the Houston City Mayor's office and most of the City Council seats for a long time. However, in next Tuesday's election, Roy Morales, a Republican, is running against several well-funded democrats. I expect the democrats to split the liberal vote. In yesterday's mail at my house I recieved a summons for jury duty addressed to some guy I never heard of. THAT MEANS THE GUY IS REGISTERED TO VOTE AT MY ADDRESS. A quick report on the election of last Tuesday: I volunteered to be the Republican Alternate Judge in a Democrat majority precinct. Therefore, I spent a lot of time talking to Democrat volunteers and getting their view of the world. I found them to be surprisingly moderate. For example, they were all quite religious and involved in their churches. The neighborhood was overrun with drug dealers and criminals. Great news! I am going to be an Election Judge for the election on 11/6/07 in Houston, TX. In past elections I have found that working in the polling place is the BEST way to combat vote fraud. This has been a key issue for me for over 10 years, and I have observed fraud in every election where I have participated. The precinct is extremely diverse; so I need (at least two each) volunteers who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Arabic. Any Houston Freepers up for a day of fulfilling public service?
