I can't believe MoveOn.org really is for taxpayers. Or are they getting one right just to throw us off balance?

Anybody know more about this? I actually suspected this was happening at the time because opposition to the war was ramping WAY up for no apparent reason. I'll bet this secret campaign was just too effective!

    My reply to this was...

I KNOW that it was Bush who first took the legal action to prevent a recount. He was legally right to do so as it played out. It would have opened a whole can of worms with. As you say WITHOUT MANIPULATION Bush would have won anyway, but IMO it is highly unlikely that Gore would not have exerted extreme pressure and of course this is what Bush successfully prevented. It ended the way it should have. Legally.

    His reply to...

Stopping the FLA vote? No, the Democrats were the ones stopping the military ballots from being counted. The FLSC were unsuccessful in changing the law after the votes had be cast and counted. (And I believe it took them almost two years to respond to the USSC on that issue.)

    was...

Check your facts. That is one of the Right wing mantras. Gore only tried to stop the absentees, after Bush's lawyers tried to stop the count. It was only for a day on the absentees from the military and they were for Gore, BTW...it actually helped him. Kathleen Harris stopped the recount (that later would have shown Bush won by 304). All Gore wanted was a recount...just ONE. Another republican lie was that there was "Recount, after recount". Wrong, there was never even ONE! That is a fact.

    · Well, you didn't _"get"_ that the Monica thing was a joke about everything being a conspiracy (you missed my others about Minnesota, and)

    · I don't get what you are saying about the CIA outing. Are these opinions or facts? What about the point that Bush _knew_ it was not true and put it in his State of the Union Speech and ...whoever, calling after Wilson writing his column to out his spouse hoping she'd be killed in the service of her country to punish her husband for being a "holdover". ??

    · The recall so soon after Davis was reelected for miss gauging the budget shortfall, presumably lying ...isn't that the same as sending people to die in a war for reasons known to be lies? (no wait---that's worse!). So should we start a recall against Bush? All politicians lie, stretch the truth. IT was $$ that made the recall happen , not the people, and it was $$ that got Arnold (a liberal Democrat BTW) in the job...no the people.

    · You also didn't _get_ that I was paraphrasing _you_ when suggesting you read a book to broaden your horizons. That is how it sounds when you actually suggest that the World Net News Daily is a credible news source. It is one big Op-ed Column, not news. That would be like me saying the NYTimes is a credible source, or Goldberg's book. It is an opinion. Why is suggesting you read someone you might not agree with... "Arrogant"? Isn't it more arrogant to insist your bias is better than another person's bias?

did you know that a poll was taken and most of the men and women serving in Iraq voted for Gore? The reservists are more middle of the road average people. Most cops are Democrats too. Al Frankin makes trips to the Gulf and to Afghanistan to entertain the troops. He is quite popular. Bush is not. It is time to dump this guy.

Thanks, I used your Hannity retort. My response to future rants will be to require organization and documetation of "facts" before replying.

I do appreciate everyone's contribution. I do think it is instructive to take a peak at home liberals actually think (or fail to do so). For instance I think Hannity is wise in debating liberals like Asner etc. The lights is even brighter when contrasted with the darkness.

    Here's some more...

you said I used cliche's, so I read again and found no cliches. You say I'm arrogant, but the right thinks they are always right and don't allow dissent, or listen to alternative points of view--isn't that the definition of arrogant?. I just said I watch Fox, and listen to Rush, and come up with my conclusions on my own--not what any party or philosophy tells me to think. I vote Democrat and Republican. Does the right do that? Is that what arrogant people do?.. I look for honest people...non-phoney and "real " people, like John McCain, Wesley Clark and Jimmy Carter. The right props up people who are criminals like Ollie North and G.Gordon Liddy and gives them talk shows! they hold no principles except to win--they knock "Hollywood types messing in politics" but glorify Reagan and Swarznigger (more Democrat than Republican in beliefs) beyond super hero proportions. It is not a democracy if you blindly follow one party line no matter which way it turns...if you mock dissent and call names and never listen or answer real questions with real facts rather than bias opinions--that's arrogant. It is a fact that Bush outed a CIA agent and that is an impeachable offense. It is a fact that the Patriot Act is being abused and we are in real danger of a Soviet style government (Fact: people who protested Bush were photographed by the Bureau of Homeland Security and blocked from flying on planes, by being put on a "Watch " list that prohibits flight) (Fact: Bush used the Dept of Homeland Security to hunt down democrat lawmakers in Texas so they could be rounded up and forced into a quorum vote to gerrymander the Texan Congressional districts to get more Republican seats and one just for an oil company). These are facts, not cliches, and it is scary that they get brief mention on the news and Michael Jackson gets 4 hours. This is our Country ! We have to watch our liberties...they are being stripped away by the Patriot Act (Bush seems to love oxymorons BTW--"patriot Act, Clean Air Act", etc.) isn't THAT the definition of arrogant? If a Democrat was doing the stuff this President is doing, you would NEVER hear the end of it. Come on! Wake up ! They are pulling the classic Manchurian Candidate trick on us all.

What about outing a CIA agent? What about Osama? They cannot connect the dots on Terrorism, and they are all over the place creating many new Osamas. We have to start questioning our government before it is too late

good thoughts, ronnieb. He can be hard to predict tho. He would just say that locking his door is sign that he's moderate and not left wing.

I rebutted Al Frankin's book by having him read an Ann Coulter column debnking hi sattack of her book. He just said "Ann Coulter is one of my favorites. I thought you were going to respond to the CIA stuff."

ronnieb, Yes, I think you're right that the best way to deal with him is to require that he produce facts. He will say (as he has in the past) that he saw or read it somewhere annd might even try to find it, but if he does what is actually there bears only slight resemlance to his delusional thought.

Thanks, everyone. Especially those who presented real arguments or retorts. I've put them together and sent them off as follows.

Oh, BTW, sad, but true: this person is a teacher.

    • Wilson's wife was outed by herself, when she listed her CIA front company with her name in her donation to Gore. Wilson also, if he wanted to be so secret, shouldn't have written an op-ed BRAGGING about his trip in the New York Times. Wilson is, and always has been, a democrat. He is currently campaigning for John Kerry.
“Those Bankers and Bond holding interests were angry at Clinton for being the first modern President to have a balanced budget and a surplus in the Treasury, and at the same time having the nerve to be a Democrat. HE had to be destroyed like Nixon and Carter, so he was tempted with a tart from Oregon named Monica...” What paranoia! Monica was a plant by the banking cartel. Whew, that's a new one. You would think those rich bankers could find something a little more attractive. Have you considered hooking up with the Larouche organization?
"The recall set a very dangerous president." Yeah, like the citizens having power over government. (Shudder)
“That should be reserved for "high crimes and "misdemeanors"' The "High crimes & misdemeanors" standard is the standard for Impeachment of certainly the president, and possibly all Federal office-holders and Judges too (I think), in any event, it has nothing to do with California's law re: recall from office.
I'll lend you Al Frankin's [book]...you need to broaden your horizons. ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Now THAT’S a good example of arrogance!

I think this rant is a good example of the mental disease called "liberalism." I would appreciate anyone who can put together a cogent rebuttal to it, or a portion of it. I know its very rambling and difficult to follow, but surely some we can come up with some good retorts and reasoned responses.
