Disciplining children and teaching manners is hardly child-hating, much less satanic. On the contrary, a parent is responsible for doing just that to the ultimate benefit of the child cum adult.
Santorum deserved to have his clock cleaned after he supported Spectre over Toomey. Unfortunately, as one who participated in the cleaning, I have to say —— I don’t think it was very successful.
It’s rattling around in the back of my brain that some years ago (5? 10?)WV adnitted that in some parts of the world (read Muslim) they could not conduct their ministry using the name of Jesus. They therefore omitted His name.
Does this ring a bell with anyone or am I confused?
Long before there was a Wal-Mart (like, a hundred or more years before), towns had their hat shop, dress shop, shoe store, etc. Then came — not Wal-Mart, but Gimble’s and Macey’s and other Department Stores. Get it? “Departments,” capable of replacing the the mom & pop stand-alone stores.
The only difference is that back then there weren’t a bunch of know-it-all whiners with too mauch time on their hands. Instead, there were hard-working consumers who embraced innovation.
If Booker loses the senate race, he’ll run against Christie for the governship. Look for Christie to say/do something that boosts Booker or hurts Lonegan so that doesn’t happen. I’m a cynic.
Years ago, husband, sister & I went to Phila. Art Museum. I’m sure there were security cameras in all the exhibition areas, but they were unobtrusive. We got the “Modern Art” room (wing?) and there were signs everywhere that the room was under video surveillance.
We came to the conclusion that, since it would be impossible to determine if a painting had been defaced, it was to deter such activity in the first place -— and to figure out how to “restore” it if such a - ahem - tragedy occured.
In one of the rooms, the “art” consisted of a circle of rocks about 10 feet in diameter. That’s all - just rocks.
I got a milion dollar back yard!!!
You’re missing the point -— which is: to let the kids ALONE. Let them think for themselves, do for themselves, solve problems for themselves. All the activities you mentioned are wonderful, but should be in addition to, not instead of self-directed playtime & adventures.
I am sadly amused by all the commercials that tell me (and everyone else) that we “DESERVE” their product or service. I first became aware of the “You deserve a break today” commercials for McDonalds. How do they know what I “deserve”? Maybe I deserve a punch in the nose!
