I would tend to think that there are relatively few here who are literarily familiar enough with David Irving to have read any of the books he has written. He tends to be rather flashy at times and weak in drawing in details to the more established view in how things came about, but Mr Irving's archieval reasearch, not to mention personal interviews, tend to turn up aspects not previously known. You people do know the biggest-badass warship of all time, the 'Bismark,' was scuttled and not sunk, right?? Irving reported this almost 40 years ago now and every so often I read of 'new discoveries' that are old news....

Even so, I wonder how Micah 5:2 can be reconciled under Palistian rule, personally speaking, I cannot. As a Christian, believers in Jesus as Christ take precedent as 'God is no respector of persons' "and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham" (Math 3:9).

Bush's war in Iraq has been a total failure too, nothing new here either.

Hmmm.... the "Cosmological 'Constant'" is not so 'constant' after all. 'Fudging' with equations to satisfy the data on the false premise of a static universe yields an expanding universe in observational fact, as we now understand. If the universe were to be slightly less homogenous than presently perceived, could the "Big Bang" itself be a more local universe phenomenon in a greater whole?

It is difficult to see the current Economy in a 'boom' mode, maybe that is why no one is noticing. Inflation remains low, but inflation numbers do not include energy prices within the core rate. Unemployment rates are also misleading in the sense that they do not include those whose unemployment benefits have ceased, as well as those who are no longer seeking employment. The displacement of the manufacturing base overseas as the US has become a 'service oriented economy' has left US with an $860 billion trade deficit. Wage growth has remained stagnant relative to low inflation for the last 6 years. As the housing market cools, the more recent source of economic growth is diminished.

The recent precipitous decline in gas prices is indeed a good sign for increased disposable income, but as OPEC reduces output, most of the price decline has possibly taken place.

As far as the Stock Market reaching new highs, that is the DOW, and the NASDAQ is around 50% of its all time high. Traditionally, the last 2 years of a 2 time President is not a 'high growth' period. The Market tends to look at least 6 months out, and the rate of US growth is expected to decline slightly from this year's projected rate.

The tax cuts definately had their intented effect of increasing personal disposable income, but are not considered the source of increased capital investment. Despite 9/11, the economy in retrospect was recovering moderately at that time. Now we have record spending and trade deficits, a cooling housing market, and increased international tensions. The temporary reduction in the spending deficit was largely due to percentage revenues of the gas tax.


It is understandable that Democrats are ignoring a relatively strong economy as they focus on the negative aspects of the War in Iraq. That's politics.

Bush has done reasonably well, better than I would have expected, from the economic meltdown he inhereted.


Economics is not called the 'dismal science' for nothing. Total collapse is always imminent but never seems to happen, or at least since the 1930's. That type of Market hype is not present here, or is disguised and muted within the derivative markets. When google is worth what... $146 billion??? There is always reason for concern.

What bothers me about the Roman Catholic Church are the new ICEL hegelian dialectics of retranslated Scripture. I end up having to confess as "the Word of God" that which cannot be found in any Bible on the face of the earth. It comes as little surprise that 'ecclesiastical freemasonry' has entered the Church as is looking to destroy the Faith from within. The Jesuits and the Opus Dei are filled with illuminati elements whose objectives are to 'dumb down and destroy' the true beauty of what the Church really teaches masked in the relativism of New Age philosophies.

Truman had no choice in dropping the bomb, his predecessor and the military had already made that decision for him. Japan was seeking terms of surrender at the time. The bomb was dropped for Uncle Joe to see.

Iran is a relatively youthful country that is at odds with religious rule. Western culture is in decline as a result of decadence in the form of pornography, violence, and cultural transition away from Christianity towards secularism.

As a nation, we shall reap what we sow. I fear it is not a land of 'milk and honey,' but a land that has forsaken values and traditions for more 'trendy currents' whose undertow would drown us all.

The culture of death inherently is at odds with the free will of life.

That said, he is a PhD in mechanical engineering and is not as stupid or as fanatical as many would have us believe. Bush would do well to consider accepting Iran's right to nuclear power as a source of energy and insist on keeping the 'nuclear bomb' issue as non-negotiable. Carter tried this under Clinton and we know what happened in North Korea.

The notion of 'peace' in the world has eluded us for quite a while now. Although I am not certain along which lines 'peace' would ever be achieved, meaningful dialogue never hurts. There will always be more radical elements opposed to any form of compromise, and these represent the 'terrorist elements' who will always be at odds with US and in the minority. Even so, the prospects of continual warfare is not in the best interests of humankind in the 21st century.

At what point in reality is "us versus them" confront the reality that "we are all in this together?"

'Radicalism' dies out sooner or later under its own 'fanaticism,' if the US can hang tough, we can hold our ground, but some sort of minimal compromise is needed to save face against the absurdity of the denial of our own imperfections.

The markets need more ca$h infusion now, not later. The aging of the baby boomers will tank the financial markets in 10 years for another 30 and Social Security will be broke by 2047 anyways.

Corporate America as well as the States have been underfunding their Pension Plans for years. The solution seems to end Defined Benefit Pension Plans altogether. Companies can declare bankruptcy to absolve themselves of their responsibility as we saw with United Airlines. Looks like this will hit GM and Ford within 2 years.

If nothing else, Joe had some clout on the Hill. I am somewhat surprised the voters of CT are voting just on his support for the war in Iraq. He is socially a lefty, but conservative on foreign policy issues and a strong Israeli supporter. The Dems throw out a reasonably legitimate VP of the US candidate for a cable TV millionaire?
