Those of you who listened to Rush yesterday already know this, but: Just as he was coming upon a commercial break, at one point in the broadcast, he closed out with this statement: "Latest poll shows 77 percent of Missourians forgive Todd Akin. He trails McCaskill by only one point. Hmmmmmmm.........."

One of my Missouri friends called me back last evening and he has recanted. He is still pissed at Akin but, he's going to vote for him because he can't stand McCaskill. The surprising part was this: He said that everybody he has talked to, about this, within the past couple of days, feels just like he does. Akin may be semi-brain dead, but they cannot and will NOT vote for McCaskill. There are 73 days before Election Day (counting today). There was a time, this year, when I was rooting for Rick Santorum during the GOP Primary season. Then, he began to make statements that made me nervous. (Most of them, I worked hard at forgetting.) Since this "Todd Aikin thing", I've begun to wonder if we didn't doge a bullet by not nominating Santorum, who for all practical purposes, came in Second Place. The Republican establishment has quelled the Ron Paul Revolution, at least for 2012. To dissuade Paul supporters from disrupting this week’s pomp and circumstance, the establishment made significant concessions on the platform to the Paul folks even before the group convened. HUNTSVILLE, Utah — A parade entry portraying President Barack Obama and using the term “Obamanation” has made some angry, and others upset at the negative attention. It happened in the city’s annual Fourth of July parade.
