The DC Chapter held its Christmas Party on Saturday, December 17. The day started out with our weekly Saturday morning Support the Troop Rally in Olney. Weather was great - in the upper 40s. <p>Kristinn and Dr Raoul have needled a naughty response from Bob Kerrey at the 9/11 conference. Dr Raoul is displaying a sign that says "If Osama was a piece of tail-Clinton would have nailed him. Kristinn is dressed as Sandy Berger, complete with Top Secret documents stuffed in his pants. When Kerrey arrived Kristinn asked him if Berger should go to jail. Raoul asked him if he was going to stay at the meeting or leave for more important matters. Kerrey gave them a look then ducked inside only to return outside to ask them who they were and what were their names. Kerrey then called Dr. Raoul an A*****e. When questioned on the language he stated that it was OK to curse because he isn't a politician.</p>

The White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night brought out not only media celebrities but also their critics. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic gathered outside of the Washington Hilton and heckled (H/T Marooned in Marin blog) attendees who walked past them or drove by. The group is known to do this every year for the past 13 WHCD's.

Free Republic, the original conservative web board protests the White House Correspondents Dinner every year. (In previous cycles, they've been joined by the not-very-blendable activists of Code Pink. What happens when the Tea Party invades the seemingly never-ending “Occupy” protest movement? Until now, this question has been left to the whims of the imagination. Week 259, April 2, 2010 - Good Friday at Walter Reed FRONT GATE NOTES We had a fairly quiet Good Friday night. There was no bus for wounded warriors and their families and it was a long weekend with many troops taking leave.
