Radio stations in South Carolina, Kentucky, and several other states claim that their signals were hijacked in recent days, interrupted by an obscene rap song that denounced President Donald Trump.  A station in Salem SC was hacked on January 30 by a rap that played continuously for 15 minutes.   According to WFBS-FM, hackers hijacked the signal thorugh its internet-connected antennas. The station was able to recover the IP address of the hackers, and reported it to the Federal Communications Commission.   Similar incidents have occurred in recent days in Washington State, Kentucky and Texas. In Mooresville NC, a cable...

Fred Thompson will forcefully defend the selection of Sarah Palin tonight in a speech Republicans are characterizing as "red meat." He will argue that the feeding frenzy over Palin's is the result of "panic" from the Democrat-friendly mainstream media. "What a breath of fresh air Governor Sarah Palin is. She is from a small town, with small town values, but that's not good enough for those folks who are attacking her and her family. Let's be clear, the selection of Governor Palin has the other side and their friends in the media in a state of panic. She is a...

In a McCain administration, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson would play a dominant role in selecting Supreme Court nominees and other judicial appointments, sources close to the McCain campaign and to Thompson tell us. And why is Fred suddenly everywhere? These sources say that the agreement between McCain and Thompson is behind Thompson’s resurgence in the national media in recent weeks. In a McCain campaign conference call with reporters yesterday on last week’s Supreme Court decision on terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Thompson -- without claiming such status -- played the role of a prominent McCain adviser. Developing…

Failed GOP presidential hopeful Fred Thompson says he will be going back to his old day job, playing pols on TV. William Morris announced that they've signed big Fred to do TV and movie roles. Before he tried to make it as an actual president (after being a real Senator from Tennessee), he spent years playing big-shot pols and most recently the District Attorney on "Law & Order." Of course, there's still buzz that could be cast in the role of Veep for John McCain.

WASHINGTON -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has surged ahead of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani among Republican voters in South Carolina, and Sen. Hillary Clinton is clinging to a slim lead over Sen. Barack Obama among Democrats. A new McClatchy-MSNBC poll found that the GOP contest in South Carolina is more wide open than the Democratic race, with five Republican contenders bunched within 10 percentage points of one another. Huckabee is backed by 20 percent of likely GOP voters in the state. Giuliani stands at 17 percent, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 15 percent, former Tennessee Sen....

(SNIP) According to a new McClatchy-MSNBC poll, Huckabee is now the choice of 32 percent of likely GOP voters in the Jan. 3 caucus. Once-leading Romney is now a distant second with 20 percent. Former senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee has 11 percent. (SNIP) Some question if Huckabee could be peaking too soon — his sudden lead is likely to mean that his rivals will target him for attack in ads, debates and speeches, and some 19 percent of GOP voters in Iowa remain undecided. Brad Coker, the managing director of Mason-Dixon Polling and Research, thinks that Huckabee could turn...

During Fred Thompson's time in the Senate, his voting record was quite similar to that of his friend John McCain. But one area where they diverged was on the verdict in President Clinton's impeachment trial. After that trial, the Senate voted on two impeachment Articles -- perjury and obstruction of justice. John McCain voted "guilty" as to both Articles; Fred Thompson voted "guilty" on obstruction of justice and "not gulity"" on perjury. I don't remember the evidence well enough to opine with confidence on the merits of these votes, and as President Nixon once said, perjury is a tough rap...

Fred's Facts Check Out; Rudy's Don't October 10, 2007 Thompson avoids error at his GOP debate debut. But Giuliani commits multiple gaffes. Summary Former Sen. Fred Thompson got the facts straight for his GOP debate debut Oct. 9. But former Mayor Rudy Giuliani added to a lengthening string of exaggerations and misstatements: Giuliani claimed Sen. Hillary Clinton once called the free-market economy "the most destructive force in modern America." She didn't say that. She quoted another author who said free markets were "disruptive." She also said free markets bring prosperity. The mayor falsely claimed Clinton proposes to give $1,000 to...

Conservative evangelical leader Dr. James Dobson admits that a third-party plan supported by pro-family leaders might unintentionally help elect democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The influential pro-family advocate still contends, however, that he would rather vote following his values than compromise and be forced to choose between two pro-choice candidates. “We’re very, very concerned about the implications of a Hillary Clinton presidency, but you know, we have been working … for 35 years, I’ve been trying to defend the unborn child,” Dobson said on Fox’s Hannity & Colmes show Monday. “That’s been my life. That’s been my belief, along with...

"Like yesterday, Thompson devoted a large portion of his opening speech to national security, but today he also talked of new support coming from the Iraqis, who he says have had a taste of Al Qaeda and are now siding with American forces. Speaking to reporters, Thompson attacked his Democratic counterparts for not seeing any positive change. "There are some folks on the Democratic side who have become so vested politically on the feelings of the left wing of their party that no good news is going to be good enough for them, and they'll constantly concentrate on the negativity....

It's officially Fred Thompson week in politics, as the former Tennessee Senator and actor will announce his presidential bid on Thursday. Thompson, who has already been up and down in the polls as an unofficial candidate will be be on Jay Leno's Tonight Show, basking in the glow of that 31 rating. Fred Thompson's support for Iraq will harmonize nicely with the President's Bush pro-surge ditty, in full-song in the run up to the long awaited Petraeus September report. But next, Thompson will face increased scrutiny, particularly on his record as a social conservative, where opponents and pundits have already...

With a re-vamped Web site, a new “Weekly Update” e-mail to supporters, and the announcement of top campaign hires, the still-unofficial presidential campaign of actor and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson edges ever closer to officialdom this week. As part of the flurry of activity, Thompson informed supporters he was taking the month of August to travel around the country and speak with voters. “It’s not quite two-a-days, but I think we’re building some real momentum. To keep that momentum, we’re shifting into higher gear,” Thompson wrote in his inaugural e-mail update, released Tuesday, On Wednesday, the campaign announced that...

WASHINGTON — The downsizing of Senator McCain's presidential campaign is coming at an opportune time for Fred Thompson, the former Tennessee senator who is likely to jump into the race officially any day now and seeking to build a campaign staff in the early primary states. Struggling with a shortage of cash, Mr. McCain's campaign announced last week that it was laying off dozens of staff members, including about half of his paid team in Iowa and New Hampshire. While there is no evidence of an outright pillaging of Mr. McCain's departed aides, Republican sources in those states say Mr....

He's played the head of the CIA, an admiral, the White House chief of staff and millions know him as gruff District Attorney Arthur Branch on "Law and Order." Now Fred Thompson is poised to shake up the Republican presidential race by going after the real-life role of a lifetime: leader of the free world. Funded by George Bush's money network, backed by veteran Bush-Cheney loyalists and boasting loads of name recognition, Thompson is expected to stride onstage in a strong second place. With GOP voters increasingly unhappy with their other choices, polls show Thompson already eating into Rudy Giuliani's...

Free speech is NOT alive and well within the Democrat Party. The DNC had to close the comment section on their blog post regarding Fred Thompson. In an attempt to bash Thompson, the DNC posted The Fred Thompson “Dummies Guide to Diplomacy”. Check out some of these excerpts from comments from DNC blog visitors. Looks like the Reagan Democrats might feel right at home with Thompson –
