• Aftermath Of A Puppy Mill Dog

    10/17/2010 10:24:58 AM PDT · by Kensy1 · 13 replies
There are so many stories about puppy mills, and the puppies in them, but not about the dogs who aren't rescued or sold. The breeder dogs, those left behind. This is one dog's story. On June 6, 2008 my husband and I adopted a Bernese Mountain dog from a rescue. Sadly. we only had him a mere 14 months. It is exactly one year ago today that he passed. I want to share his story so people will know about the horrendous conditions these dogs are in. They are the forgotten ones. Although this is Logan's tale, it is the...

That’s right. You read that correctly. Finally you no longer need to be embarrassed by your dog’s exposed anus. A new product called “Rear Gear” protects your dog from “feeling left in the dirt because of his/her unsightly rear.” Not sure who is going to actually buy this product, nor the psychological profile of the individual who had this idea. But if there is one thing in can say is that, yes, this is one of those rare instances where words fail. The website Etsy has the product and order information that includes: "Is your pet feeling left in the...

A woman accused of throwing a cat locked in a carrier into the water to drown appeared before a judge today, saying her boyfriend was to blame for the horrific abuse the cat endured.

Missy Krack told the judge she waited in the truck as Giovanni Estrada dumped the cat into McKay Bay. Investigators say Krack was likely the victim of abuse herself, and was probably not a willing participant in the abuse of the cat.

OK Kiddies....before you click the link that I'm going to provide I want to warn you about something. If you've done animal rescues, I'm sure you've seen this, and worse....but you may still not want to watch. There are NO gory, bloody things in here...but it was a VERY hard video to watch. It has a happy ending, but the gist of it wasn't easy to look at. I'm putting this up mostly for lurkers, people who just MIGHT be thinking of buying a cute little kitty or puppy from a pet store. These operations need to NOT be funded....

A nine-year-old boy didn't know he was allergic to bees, but his 18-week-old dog could sense this. When the boy was attacked by a swarm of bees, it was the pup that took charge and saved the boy from a possible severe reaction. Richie didn't know he was allergic to bees until he was stung on his feet while outside playing with his puppy Pinky. The pup seemed to have a sixth sense and knew that Richie not only had an allergy, but he also had a blood condition that didn't allow his blood to clot properly. Both these issues...

Ratue was already very thin due to her terminal illness; a disease in the blood, most likely from a parasite. She no longer had the energy to eat food, much less properly digest it, so the body had to survive the only way it could: by devouring her own fat and muscle tissue. Organ failure began to set in around 5:50 in the afternoon on Sunday, August the 23rd, 2010. When I heard my stepmother wailing over Ratue's deteriorating condition, I bore witness to what would be the cat's final hour. She was disoriented and confused. Whenever she tried to...
