There seems to be a level of quietness that I see as the calm before the storm. Lots of stuff prepped and ready to go if necessary.

Getting ready for the next arctic blast of the season to hit my corner of the Redoubt. Not as strong as the one last month, but plenty of snow and subzero just the same.

Globally, much the same – seems things are on a low simmer but ready to boil over in a short time. Just my general impression.

Globalism / Great Reset –

In two days an EU regulation will go into effect that allows for ‘acheta domesticus’, aka house crickets, to be added to flour, bread, pasta etc. as an ‘authorized novel food for the general population’.

OBSERVATION – Bugs are coming, whether you want them or not. It may find more acceptability in Europe, but I think here in America, companies and products that move forward on this will not be very well funded in the long run.

Wuhan virus –

Haven’t been noting all the reports of wuhan jab adverse effects across the interwebs. I’ve noted plenty in the past, but the present one’s I’ve seen are not very well linked to the actual studies, so I’ve abstained from posting them. There are enough rumors out there – though many may well be true - on top of reviewed and documented cases to show that the jab is deadly.

Economy –

SUMMARY –
Again, another calm before the storm. Wall St waiting for more economic numbers and Fed Tea leave readings before deciding to go bear or bull. Minor gas price relief is reversing and banks are hedging their bets on a recession.

Biden / Harris watch –

Biden’s new Chief of Staff was the “Winter of severe illness and death for the unjabbed” guy.

CW2/Domestic violence –

California lawmakers are pushing legislation that would impose a new tax on the state’s wealthiest residents — even if they’ve already moved to another part of the country.
Assemblyman Alex Lee, a progressive Democrat, last week introduced a bill in the California State Legislature that would impose an extra annual 1.5% tax on those with a “worldwide net worth” above $1 billion, starting as early as January 2024.

California was one of several blue states last week to unveil bills to impose new wealth taxes. The other states were Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York and Washington. Each state’s proposal contained a different tax approach, but they all centered around the same basic idea: the rich must pay more.

OBSERVATION - In part unusual to place in this category, yet not so unusual. Note the states involved. Add to it other blue states that have added vehicle emission and EV requirements based on kalifornian standards.

What is essentially being created before our eyes is an alternative ‘national’ govt where these blue states are attempting to do an end around congress and impose progressive / Marxist laws on the rest of the country by fiat. Parallel govt is in some ways being seen in Red states as their AGs and legsiatures line up against anti-constitutional and anti freedom laws and regulations coming from DC.

Not a legal scholar, but I think kalifornia’s wealth tax on non-residents may face some head winds in the courts. Previous attempt was turned down by the democrat controlled legislature. Kalifornia lawmakers pushing the wealth tax think they can “get around” the problem of residents leaving by trying to tax people even after they leave the state,” This will also drive many more millionaires out of the state, further reducing income tax revenue.

Two of the six suspects arrested during a riot in downtown Atlanta Saturdayevening have been granted bond Monday morning.
A Fulton County Court judge granted both 23-year-old Ivan Ferguson of Nevada and 20-year-old Graham Evatt of Decatur, Georgia bond of over $355,000. The other four have been denied bail.
In a press conference, Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum made it clear that Atlanta is “not Portland”.

OBSERVATION - Atlanta is taking a very hard line against the Antifa thugs that were arrested. Some of them were charged earlier with other terrorism charges. This hard line may put a chill in further Antifa rioting – having to face a mayor and police force that is not cowed to the threats of Antifa and that refused to have a revolving door to those arrested.

In a ruling this past June, the U.S. Supreme Court said the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; and it said the authority to regulate abortion resides with “the people and their elected representatives” — with the states, in other words.
But as state legislatures begin their sessions in this new year, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a warning on Monday: Any attempt by the states to ban or restrict abortion may be met with federal intervention of some kind, including lawsuits.

OBSERVATION – Roe is another fracture zone long developing in the blue-red split of the country. The USSC fixed Roe and reinstated the fact that the constitution doesn’t grant a “right” to an abortion, but the duplicitous regime/DoJ desire to disobey the courts – a typical Marxist / leftist maneuver -to see just how far they can push back on the ruling.

ALSO NOTE – More protests at USSC judges homes over the weekend -in violation of US law and unanswered by any arrests or enforcement.

Three mass shootings that appeared to have been targeted against Asians were committed by Asians. The left’s narrative out in the open quick and early that it was a white supremacist / race based shootings – until the perps were caught. Lunar new year is being celebrated by predominantly asians across the world this week and that may be the link between the shootings.

CANCEL CULTURE FRONT

Some European wonk with the UN threatened that the UN will sanction and make criminal charges against Musk if he doesn’t censor unwanted (by the globalists) speech on Twitter.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday defended the Department of Justice against criticisms that the classified documents cases against President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are being treated differently. Garland said the DOJ does “not have different rules for Democrats or Republicans, different rules for the powerful or the powerless, different rules for the rich or for the poor.”

OBSERVATION – The nation doesn’t believe you Garland (ever so glad he was prevented from getting on the USSC), even democrats are questioning the growing biden scandal. The dual standard of justice is thrown in the face of Americans daily.

Strategic Activity / Deployments –

On Monday, CENTCOM and the Israel Defense Forces announced the beginning of Juniper Oak 23.2, a large-scale exercise in Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
General Michael Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, said the drill “enhances our ability to respond to contingencies, and underscores our commitment to the Middle East.”

CENTCOM in its statement said the forces would practice joint command and
control; air operations in maritime surface warfare; combat search and rescue; electronic attacks; suppression of enemy air defenses; strike coordination and reconnaissance; and air interdiction.

Of the 142 aircraft involved in the drill, 100 are American, NBC reported, including four B-52 strategic bombers, four F-35 fighter jets, 45 F/A-18 fighters, and two MQ-9 Reaper drones.

Cyber Warfare –

China –

WAR WATCH – I am still monitoring for indicators that indicated that China may initiate a more coercive plan to force Taiwan into submission with a potential start of a potential blockade of the island during the Chinese New Years timeframe. Chinese New Year celebrations begin 22 January, after which they would have 60 days until a break in seasonally rough weather conditions in the Taiwan Strait.

We are now at the front end of that window. Indicators have weakened over the period since I placed China on war watch. I will continue the watch through the end of the weekend, though it appears that action is not forthcoming.

North/South Korea –

North Korean authorities have warned of extreme weather conditions in the country as a cold wave sweeps the Korean peninsula.
Temperatures are likely to dip below -30C in the northern regions, which are also the poorest part of the country, the state radio broadcaster said.
Coastal areas are also expected to see high winds, according to state media.
South Korea too has issued a cold wave warning and northern China has been experiencing record low temperatures.

OBSERVATION – Cold air mass moving eastward from Siberia. FWIW it is expected to reach my corner of the Redoubt by this Friday/Saturday.

Japan –

Japan is bracing itself for a dangerous chill and heavy snowfall that is expected to hit the nation from Tuesday, January 24 to Thursday, January 26, 2023.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a winter low pressure system is likely to cause very strong winds and storms over the next 2 days, leading to potential threats of frozen pipes, slippery roads, and traffic disruptions across the country.

The areas facing the Sea of Japan and much of the Pacific side of the archipelago are expected to be the most affected. The atmospheric low is predicted to develop near the Kuril Islands, northeast of Hokkaido, and east of Japan, bringing the coldest temperatures of the winter so far.1

OBSERVATION – See also N/S Korea above – frigid air and snow headed to the US by end of the week.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

CURRENT ASSESSMENT
Russia is currently working to (re)assemble a military force capable of resuming the offensive in the Donbas while at the same time trying to make defensive preparations for an expected Ukrainian offensive as well. Suspected goal for the start of offensive operations is latter half of January at the earliest.

At present, it is capable of very local offensive actions as in the ongoing fighting around Bakhmut and Donetsk.

Russia is also capable of launching more cruise/ballistic missile attacks directed against Ukrainian infrastructure -primarily its power grid, but massively reduced inventories of such missiles means these barrages will be further apart.

While Russia has nuclear capability, the probability is low that any will be used in the near future.

********

RUMINT-
Wagner Group has lost as causalities (killed/wounded/captured) about 80% of its recent prison conscripts. Their reported tactics have been to force the recent conscripts forward in human wave like attacks with more experienced Wagner forces following behind (with the leaders) to secure what ever terrain they were able to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses.

Russian Personnel Issues –-
Colonel-General Sergey Kuzovlev became new commander of Russian Southern Military district and Lieutenant-General Evgeniy Nikiforov became new commander of Western Military district
NOTE – More shuffling of generals as Gerasimov attempts to get commanders to his liking in place.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Rain and snow letting up with increasing number of days that are below freezing and for much of eastern Ukraine, a multi-day episode of sub-freezing temperatures on the way.

RUMINT –
Ukrainian intelligence is assessing that Russian forces are preparing for an offensive effort in the spring or early summer of 2023. This pushes back the winter offensive scenario.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Russian ground attacks around Bahkmut and in the south in two directions in Zaporizhia Oblast, with their main efforts focusing on Hulyaipole and Orikhiv are gaining some ground.

Russia also appears to be committing resources in the fight around Soldar, losing three Ka-52 attack helicopters as a result.

The Zaporizhia effort is disputed by Ukraine saying Russian forces are not conducting large-scale operations in the Zaporizhia direction and that those offensive in the last 72 hours and have not made any confirmed territorial gains in the sector despite one Russian occupation official’s continued claims.
NOTE - Observation of a build up in Russian forces opposite of Zaporizhia has been noted previously, though intel was unclear if they were in a offensive or defensive posture. A Russia attacks towards Zaporizhia would allow Russia a tactical and strategic advantage in the battle for the Donbas.

OUTLOOK ——
Bloody battles continue with Russian gains around Bahkmut and Ukrainian gains around Kreminna. All in all, the fight for Kreminna is the most significant of the two as it directly threatens supply lines to the northern Donbas campaign region.

Watching the fighting in Zaporizhia Oblast. The fight here cuts both ways as noted above for supporting the capture of Donbas by Russia, but is also the most direct route to Crimea for Ukraine.

Israel –

On Monday, CENTCOM and the Israel Defense Forces announced the beginning of Juniper Oak 23.2, a large-scale exercise in Israel and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

OBSERVATION - A warning towards Iran, however, with biden’s regime’s increasing hostility toward Israel, support for Israel should they need to strike Iran is questionable.

Lebanon -

The Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah has dramatically increased its presence on Israel’s northern border, according to a report by Yediot Aharanot Monday.
Over the past year, Hezbollah has reportedly built at least 20 new observation and guard posts adjacent to the Israeli border, despite the terms of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which bars the terrorist group from operating near Israel’s border fence.

The increase in Hezbollah activity on the border coincides with an IDF project to build a fortified border fence spanning the Israel-Lebanon border.

OBSERVATION – The UN presence in this area is a joke. In the event of a war
with Hezbollah, most of the activity on their part will be the rocket barrages aimed at Israel. There will be some attempts to infiltrate teams into Israel as well which this barrier is intended to interrupt, though it is likely there are plenty of tunnels (which this construction may be designed to detect) south. It appears to be a design similar to that around Gaza, which in part interrupts the line of sight attacks from Gaze into Israel.

Venezuela -

Inflation in Venezuela hits 234% - Reuters

OBSERVATION – Major reason so many illegals entering the US lately are from Venezuela and other communist dictatorships in Central/South America.

Globalism / Great Reset –

Bill Gates issued a warning during his visit to Australia about the impending threat of another pandemic, one that could be much more devastating than Covid and could be man-made, Daily Mail reported.
On Monday, Microsoft founder Bill Gates discussed global health, pandemic preparedness, food security, and ‘climate change’ in an in-depth interview with Lowy Institute Executive Director Dr. Michael Fullilove.
Gates urged that world leaders must put aside their differences and work together to prepare for the next epidemic.

OBSERVATION - Telegraphing the next global disaster. Note from Davos of a lot of emphasis of a global response (read more medical tyranny) to pandemics.

**
A man from Southampton, U.K., has been fined for praying near an abortion facility in Bournemouth.
Adam Smith-Connor, a British army veteran, stood still and silent on Ophir Road, a public street, for a few minutes before being approached by “community safety accredited officers,” according to an article at adf.uk, the U.K. office of Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which is supporting the physiotherapist.
Smith-Connor had been praying outside a British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) clinic with his back to the facility in order to be mindful of the privacy of staff and attendees of the abortion center, according to ADF.

He recorded his conversation with the officers and shared footage with ADF UK. After repeatedly being asked what the nature of his prayer was, Smith-Connor told authorities he was praying for his son who died by abortion 22 years ago, a decision that still haunts him to this day.

The officers warned him he was in an area under a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), which establishes a “safe zone” around abortion clinics and prohibits “engaging in any act of approval/disapproval,” including praying. The abortion clinic in Bournemouth is the fifth one in the country to have this type of censorship zone, according to local news reports.

OBSERVATION – Global thought crimes/censorship is growing in the UK as well as other parts of the globe. Silent protests are a threat as the mind is one place they cannot control outright. This is a sinister trend, following the widespread calls in the recent Davos meeting for greater censorship of “misinformation” and the like. One can read in similar goals for here in the US from the statements by many leftist mouthpieces.

**
German Environment Minister Steffi Lemke will send proposals to the cabinet to remove Germany from crop-based biofuel production.

OBSERVATION – Biofuels once were described as the way to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. It wasn’t rocket science to realize that the amount of energy needed to produce it exceeds its benefits. It is only sustainable here in the US with a lot of govt assistance and $$$.

**
Kinda old new now, but on Tuesday morning, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists — a nonprofit media organization — announced just how close it considers the world to be to “Doomsday” from man-made catastrophes such as nuclear war, “climate change,” or a deadly pandemic. For the past 75 years, the Bulletin has used a depiction of an analog clock to indicate how much time remains until midnight — the theoretical Doomsday.

OBSERVATION – Just 90 seconds. Well that fits well in the WEF / globalists cry for a unified global govt. Create a crisis and then present the “solution”.

Economy –

Rising U.S. consumer demand, combined with a rise in the price of crude oil, has led to an increase in gas prices at the pump.
The national average price for a regular gallon of gas was at $3.46 on Jan. 24, according to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA).
The auto association attributed much of the increase in prices to good weather and strong consumer demand in an economy still struggling with high inflation.

IN RELATED - According to industry officials, twice the usual number of US oil refineries will temporarily close this spring due to maintenance and upgrades. U.S. refineries will drop total processing capacity by 1.4 million barrels per day by February. Planned projects will last from two to 11 weeks.

OBSERVATION - Market experts continue to forecast national average prices to go above $4/gal this summer. And that doesn’t include any impacts due to global crisis or China getting over its wuhan blues and getting production cranked back up. Here in my corner of the Redoubt, prices have jumped 20 cents/gal in just the last two weeks.

Invasion of Illegals –

Two left-wing nonprofits have combined to rake in hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer-backed government contracts since President Biden took office, with a vast majority of the money going towards efforts to keep illegal immigrants in the United States, records reviewed by Fox News Digital shows.
The Vera Institute of Justice, a New York-based group that views immigration enforcement agencies as a “threat” to civil liberties, has been the primary breadwinner in the past two years, collecting around $350 million from government contracts for immigration services. The Acacia Center for Justice, a newer nonprofit linked to the Vera Institute and another left-wing immigration group, has also pocketed tens of millions of dollars in recent federal contracts.
The progressive groups have landed the contracts amid the escalating border crisis, which recently saw a quarter of a million migrant encounters at the southern border in December, a new high for the Biden-era as the crisis enters its third year.

OBSERVATION - The deliberate actions by the regime to subvert the country no longer surprise me. This is just the latest in a long line of gravy train funding for ‘progressive’ organizations. I’ll bet that these organizations have potentially laundered some of these funds back into the democrat party.

Biden / Harris watch –

Jeff Zients, incoming White House chief of staff for President Joe Biden, reportedly met with the president’s son multiple times in 2016.
A report from Fox News Digital claims that Zients met with Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden twice in February 2016 at the U.S. Naval Observatory and once in May 2016, according to emails obtained by the outlet from Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.

OBSERVATION – Birds of a feather, so they say.

CW2/Domestic violence –

See coments on Peru below in Central / S America.

**
The Department of Justice has indicted two Florida residents on charges of a civil rights conspiracy for spray-painting threats on reproductive health services and for violating the FACE Act. If convicted, the two could face up to 12 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and up to $350,000 in fines.

“2 Members of #Miami #Antifa indicted by the feds for a string of Jane’s Revenge related vandalism targeting pro life pregnancy centers in 2022 Caleb Freestone and Amber Smith-Stewart are both charged with Civil Rights Conspiracy and violating the FACE act,” Antifa watch reported.

OBSERVATION – These charges are but a drop in the bucket compared to the dozens of charges facing pro-life protestors who clearly were non-violent in their protests. These are also the only ones arrested and charged (to my knowledge) for the dozens of the episodes of vandalism against pro-life facilities and churches since the overturning of Roe. The DoJ’s lack of response to those acts of violence has continued to confirm to many the two – tiered nature of the DoJ so called law enforcement.

**
A good observation on the response from the left on the recent attacks on Asians
“A sentiment on the far-left is that white supremacy is still to blame in Asian on Asian violence. In their pseudo-religious worldview, white supremacy is the root of all wickedness in past, present and future. “ - Andy Ngo

Cyber Warfare –

Korean media is reporting that Chinese hackers gained access to at least 12 and up to 70 South Korean government and educational institutions. The attack is not being blamed directly on the Chinese government but on a Chinese nationalist group.

OBSERVATION - Attacks by non-govt groups that can also serve as front groups for govt action will be increasingly used in the future for battlefield preparation of the cyber frontiers in future conflicts. In this case, you can be sure that the Chinese govt not only approved of the action, but could have provided technical support for the effort.

We are now in that window. Indicators have weakened over the period since I placed China on war watch. I will continue the watch through the end of the weekend, though it appears that action is not forthcoming.

North/South Korea –

North Korea has announced a five-day lockdown in the capital due to rising cases of an unspecified “respiratory illness,” according to Seoul-based NK News. This is the first city-wide lockdown since North Korea declared itself COVID-free in August last year.

According to a government notice cited by NK News, residents in Pyongyang have been told to stay indoors from Wednesday to Sunday. They are also required to submit to multiple temperature checks each day.
The government notice did not mention COVID-19 but said the symptoms of the “respiratory illness” include common cold, according to the Seoul-based website.

OBSERVATION – NK has kept its response to the wuhan plandemic very secret. Can’t say for sure then if this is wuhan, because overall health of NK civilians is iffy because of poor nutrition and preventative medical services. My also be a spill over from China’s current wuhan woes were upwards of 80% of the population may be infected by the current variant.

Japan –

Japan and India on Jan. 12 launched their first joint air combat drill in a move to bolster their military alliance amid the security challenges posed by the Chinese communist regime in the Indo-Pacific region.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

********

RUMINT-
There are reportedly signs Putin that is weighing making a “big move” in the next several weeks to regain the initiative in the war, officials familiar with the intelligence tells CNN.

Part of this “big move” is another troop mobilization of as many as 200,000 men, US and Western officials familiar with the intelligence told CNN.

OBSERVATION – It appears Russian is rushing to take some kind of action before the tanks supplied by NATO and the west arrive in Ukraine. Most still think it will be an offensive.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Rain and snow letting up with increasing number of days that are below freezing and for much of eastern Ukraine, a multi-day episode of sub-freezing temperatures on the way.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
The slug fest continues in eastern Ukraine, with Ukraine making minor gains in the Savatoe -Kreminna line and Russia making minor gains around Bahkmut.

Ukrainian defense officials said their military forces conducted a tactical withdrawal ahead of advancing Russian forces near the eastern Ukraine towns of Soledar and Bakhmut. The Ukraine military units reportedly withdrew to prepare defensive positions in an effort to protect ground lines of communication from Bakhmut into central Ukraine.

Germany opened the door for NATO nations to start supplying Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as well as announcing they will be contributing as well. Some have wondered just how Ukraine will integrate the various modern NATO tanks- forgetting that Ukraine has already integrated hundreds of T-62,T-64, T-72, T-80 and T-90 (plus their numerous variants) over the past 11 months.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the resignation of five government officials and the removal of five regional governors amid corruption accusations.

OBSERVATION – Likely in response to western criticism of corruption in the Ukrainian govt.

OUTLOOK ——
No change in the slugfest in the east. Now continuing to monitor for another Russian missile barrage. However there is some RUMINT that the strategic attacks on the Ukrainian power grid and infrastructure didn’t obtain the desired results and Gerasimov has ended them in order to preserve the ever dwindling stockpile – a wise move if Russia is going to try to go back on a serious offensive.

Iran –

The Iranian flotilla, comprised of Dena and Makran warships, set sail from the south of Iran in early autumn with the purpose of circumnavigating the world, according to a Tasnim report.

The trip to Brazil appears to be part of a mission to the Panama Canal.
Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said nearly two weeks ago that Iran is planning to extend its area of operation to the Panama Canal that divides South and North America.

“So far, we have been present in all the strategic straits of the world and we have not been present in only two straits, in one of which we will be present this year and we are planning to be present in the Panama Canal,” Irani said, according to Fars News.

The top military official also said Iran has established command centers for the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

OBSERVATION – Mostly PR for domestic consumption. Iran doesn’t have the capability to project force globally, but these moves do allow a glimpse of their thought on how they could asymmetrically project power in key areas. The Panama Canal is on such area where they could subtly threaten global shipping while at the same time secure trade deals selling Iranian made arms to leftist countries aligned against the US. This would allow them to grow their presence, protected by the host country.

Central / South America General-

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Peru’s capital and were met with volleys of tear gas and pellets amid clashes with security forces just hours after President Dina Boluarte called for a “truce” in almost two months of protests.
The anti-government protest on Tuesday was the largest – and most violent – since last Thursday, when large groups of people, many from remote Andean regions, descended on the capital to demand Boluarte’s resignation, immediate elections and the dissolution of Congress.

Before last week, most of the large anti-government protests that followed the removal of President Pedro Castillo took place in remote regions of Peru, largely in the country’s south, exposing deep division between residents of the capital and the long-neglected countryside.

The crisis that has sparked Peru’s worst political violence in more than two decades began when Castillo, Peru’s first leader from a rural Andean background, tried to short-circuit the third impeachment proceeding of his young administration by ordering Congress dissolved on December 7.

OBSERVATION – Latin American communist support has traditionally been cultivated in the poorer, often rural areas of the region. There they gain sympatric support and have effectively built upon that support via actions towards ‘bettering’ their lives as well as portraying the urban areas and govt leadership as corrupt and uncaring. With that base extablished, the communists will turn their efforts on the urban areas, with a combination of political and military/terror attacks that eventally weaken it and opens a window for them to take control.

Here in America there is a parallel effort taking place. Antifa holds many ‘community support’ events for homeless and economically disadvantaged in their blue strongholds. These people then may become general foot soldiers for actions or provide the means for Antifa members to go to ground following actions. I look at this though as they have in some part put the cart before the horse - violence before establishing popular support. Time will tell if they can reverse course.

Meanwhile, I expect more violence in Peru and wouldn’t plan on visiting Machu Picu any time soon.

Misc of Note –

California State Assemblymember Lori Wilson (D) introduced Assembly Bill 228, which will require the California Department of Health (CDOH) to establish an infant formula stockpile for the state. Wilson said the CDOH already maintains a stockpile of key medications, and her bill simply expands the directive to include formula.

OBSERVATION – More a political move than a practical one. Yes, a stockpile of baby formula would be a good idea - if the state of kalifornia could prove it has the capability of managing such a stockpile in a cost effective manner. However, just about everything kalifornia sticks their noses into devolves into a dumpster fire.

Baby formula has a limited shelf life. For most products I don’t worry about the “best by” date (this is NOT an expiration date, but a date by which the taste and nutritional quality of the product is guaranteed by the company), but in the case of dairy related products and expecially baby formula (with components designed to break down quickly in the infant’s digestive tract) the expiration date is critical. There is no apparent plan for stockage rotation and what to do with the expiring formula. Most likely will just end up in a land fill being wasted.

Much of today will be spent pre-stockpiling split fire wood and checking stored water in anticipation of the incoming winter/arctic storm and freeze. Likely the last major cold blast of the season with the lowest temps forecast in the -26 to -28 range. But actual weather is pretty fickle here in the mountains, so we may see more or less snow. But the cold will hit.

Globalism / Great Reset –

See Pfizer spilling the beans below under Wuhan.

Wuhan virus –

Wow, did Project Veritas rattle the hornet’s nest overnight. Their latest release nails Pfizer for exploring “Mutating” COVID-19 virus for new vaccines. Jordon Trishton Walker, Pfizer Director of R&D for mRNA Scientific Planning admits they’re exploring “mutating viruses” in a lab to tailor a vaccine to sell to the public.

“Don’t tell anyone this...There is a risk...have to be very controlled to make sure this virus you mutate doesn’t create something...the way that the virus started in Wuhan, to be honest.”

Cover up begins - Daily Mail has removed its article about Project Veritas’ latest footage on Pfizer. Google search has it buried as well.

OBSERVATION – If one considers that the whole Pfizer/Moderna vaccine scam was designed and endorsed by the globalist to reduce the global population, this guy’s statement becomes even more credible and dangerous. We also must remember Pfizer has a history of getting hammered in the courts for their products. Its bad enough that govt labs with reportedly high degree of protections to keep these mutations contained, but a private company with probably just a fraction of the protective measures considering playing the same game. . . . .

Biden / Harris watch –

VP Harris has been eerily quiet about President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal, causing at least some Republicans to believe Harris could be angling to push Biden out of the way for a shot at the Oval Office.

OBSERVATION – It may well be more likely that she is lying low and searching out any classified she’s drug home over the past couple years, perhaps knowing full well that the powers that be may be trying to stop a biden reelection bid and toss him under the bus – and that she will be included with him.

CANCEL CULTURE FRONT

Joy Reid became visibly giddy on air at the prospect of jailing rival journalists for White Supremacy hate speech. Reid interviewed Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) about a bill she introduced, HR 61, dubbed the “Leading Against White Supremacy Act of 2023.” According to the New York Post, HR 61 “aims ‘to prevent and prosecute white supremacy inspired hate crime and conspiracy to commit white supremacy inspired hate crime.’”

In effect, the bill would mean that “people who use hate speech online could face criminal charges under the legislation even if they don’t act on their threats.” This includes “material advancing white supremacy, white supremacist ideology, antagonism based on ‘replacement theory,’ or hate speech that vilifies or is otherwise directed against any non-white person or group.”

OBSERVATION – If there is one thing we should have learned about the Marxist/progressive left by now is that they think the world revolves around them and that they are endowed to define terms and conditions any way they choose to support their cause. They absolutely want to completely censor conservative views and will do what ever it takes to do so. Fortunately Lee’s bill is essentially DOA but you can bet it will do a zombie act if the dems retain the WH and control both houses again.

Meta just announced that they will be allowing President Trump to return to Facebook and Instagram after a 2-year bid in the gulag.

“As a general rule, we don’t want to get in the way of open, public and democratic debate on Meta’s platforms – especially in the context of elections in democratic societies like the United States,” Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs, wrote. “The public should be able to hear what their politicians are saying – the good, the bad and the ugly – so that they can make informed choices at the ballot box.”

OBSERVATION – For those of us who’ve been put in FB jail over the years over similar, “meta’s” statement rings pretty hollow in their endorsement of “open, public and democratic debate”.

POLITICAL FRONT –

A San Francisco judge has granted a motion to release dramatic police bodycam footage from the night former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was attacked by an assailant with a hammer at their home.
The motion was granted on Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, with Judge Stephen Murphy siding with a coalition of news organizations who sought access to evidence against David DePape, the man charged in the October attack.

The media argued back in December that the footage should be presented in court and accessible to the public since they had been submitted in open court and admitted into evidence.

OBSERVATION – This should be interesting. It should clear up a lot of the speculation surrounding the incident.
BTW – Pelosi claims to have had a priest execute an ‘exorcism’ of the property following the incident, the Catholic diocese denies the claim. I believe the diocese because Pelosi still can come to her home. . . . .

Speaking of Pelosi – the pelosi’s sold off 3 million in stocks in Google about a month prior to the DoJ filing a lawsuit against it. Insider trading anyone?

**
Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), and Ilhan Omar(D-Minn.) vowed to “stick together” on Jan. 25 in response to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) refusal to allow them assignments on House committees.

OBSERVATION – What goes around, comes around and I’m sure McCarthy is just quaking in his bunny slippers over their threats. As he strongly inferred to a very stupid reporter the other day in a classic slap down, he has the goods on them. In Omar’s bleat, she some how forgets she voted to do the EXACT SAME THING to republicans under the Pelosi regime.

**
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s salary has more than doubled since she began her tenure six years ago, now far exceeding the pay of any of her predecessors.
She is facing calls to step down after losing the House of Representatives in 2018, both chambers of Congress and the White House in 2020, and far underperforming expectations by winning only a slim majority in the House while failing to regain the Senate in 2022.
McDaniel has touted her leadership in building party infrastructure, as 4 million more GOP voters than Democrats turned out nationwide during the 2022 midterms.

OBSERVATION – She is a major part of the problem at the RNC – there only on the basis of her uncle – Mitt. The RNC did very little to increase more GOP voters – that credit has to go to Trump. She is a liability to the RNC – but then that’s just what the eGOP elements want.

We are now in the window. Indicators have weakened over the period since I placed China on war watch. I will continue the watch through the end of the weekend, though it appears that action is not forthcoming.

North/South Korea –

More evidence of Russia and China ignoring sanctions on NK. In particular NK’s delivery of munitions to Russia (Wagner Group the current benefactors).

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

CURRENT ASSESSMENT
Russia is currently working to (re)assemble a military force capable of resuming the offensive in the Donbas while at the same time trying to make defensive preparations for an expected Ukrainian offensive as well. Suspected goal for the start of offensive operations has shifted from latter half of January more towards end of March at the earliest.

********

The kremlin and Russian nationalist mouthpieces are angry over the recent announcements of the west supplying modern tanks to Ukraine. Some calling the actions an open declaration of war against Russia and calling military strikes against Germany in particular.

Logistics –
GUR published a short intercepted call indicating that Russians issues an order to strictly conserve their ammunition “at all positions”. Unfortunately, no additional context is provided. Reduced rate of Russian fire is a continuing topic of military analysis.

Russian Personnel Issues –-
Two Germans have been captured in Bakhmut, where they were fighting for the Russian mercenary Wagner Group

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Rain and snow letting up with increasing number of days that are below freezing and for much of eastern Ukraine, a multi-day episode of sub-freezing temperatures on the way.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
The Russian strategic bomber nets went hot overnight and Russia released its latest missile barrage after about a two week pause. Ukrainian air defense shot down 47 of 55 missiles launched by Russia this morning. Kh-101, Kh-555, Kh-47, Kinzhal, Kaliber, Kh-59 cruise missiles, launched by Tu-95, Su-35, Mig-31K and naval vessels from Black Sea. Iranian Shaheds drones were also in the mix. A couple missile got through at Kyiv (explosions may possibly be debris as Kyiv authorities claim all 20 of the missiles that targeted the city were shot down), and the Zaporizhzhia region Odesa and Kherson were also targeted but were shot down.

NOTE – though operating through code words, Russian Air Force strategic aviation voice net operated on 4694 Kilohertz USB, 2016 UTC using structured messages that are well documented as being active commands for launch preparation and execution. Russian naval has similar nets and programmed scripts for their launches as well. This gives Ukraine warning of an impending attack and can make sure its ADA assets are wound up and ready.

Russia has attacked a transport ship in the Port of Kherson sailing under a Turkish flag but appears to be owned by another country. Video posted on social media shows the commander’s bridge on fire. No response from Turkey yet.

OUTLOOK ——
No change in the slugfest in the east. Russian force tactics may be changing to that of engaging in limited spoiling attacks across most of the frontline in Ukraine in order to disperse and distract Ukrainian forces and set conditions to launch a decisive offensive operation in Luhansk Oblast.

Analysts are sharpening their pencils and trying to analyze what Russia’s plans for their offensive may be. Some note that the array of conventional forces across the Luhansk Obl. frontline suggests that Russian forces may be preparing for a decisive effort in this sector, likely offensive, supported by limited spoiling attacks elsewhere on the frontline to distract and disperse Ukrainian forces.

The according to some, the most probable course of a Russian offensive action in Luhansk Oblast would be premised on launching an attack along the Svatove-Kreminna line, supported by critical ground lines of communication (GLOCs) that run into major logistics hubs in Luhansk City and Starobilsk in order to reach the Luhansk Oblast administrative border and complete the capture of the remaining part of Luhansk Oblast that is still Ukrainian-controlled. I’ve noted reports of Russian build up in the Svatove-Kreminna, some of which were to bolster the defenses.

Russian forces may hope to recapture critical ground in northern Donetsk Oblast around Lyman and use the Svatove-Kreminna line to launch further attacks into western Kharkiv and/or northern Donetsk Oblasts.
This axis of attack is similar to what the Russians attempted in their Izium push last spring. That push came out of the north at that time from the Kharkiv sector following parallel N/S lines of drift and roads. That effort stalled out and all the territory was recaptured by Ukraine this past summer. Russia will be forced to deal with numerous river crossings (that they failed to use to their advantage during the Ukraine’s offensive that cleared out a lot of eastern Ukraine.

Logistics appear to be a critical issue for Russia, given the order to conserve ammo (See Russia above) as well as other, more strategic weapons, reflected in their ballistic/cruise missile and drone attacks. The overnight missile attacks were substantially smaller than previous ones and may reflect the increasing shortage of those munitions. The attack had very little effect on the Ukrainian infrastructure and Ukrainian ADA continues to improve its defenses. When Russia launches its offensive, it will need all the missiles and drones it can get its hands on to hit deep targets in Ukrainian defenses and not waste them flailing against strengthening defenses. Same goes for ammunition, which Ukraine will continue to strike logistics points, forcing Russian to disperse even more and strain their transportation assets further.

As Russia continues its preparations for their effort to regain the momentum, its troop deployments will begin to tell a better story of their intents.

Right now Russia and Ukraine are racing to get their forces ready for action. The old adage of “He who gets there with the most-est the first-ist will be the winner” is in play.

Pakistan –

The recent large power outage that struck the nation this week has resulted in the revelation that the country is in serious economic trouble, with very little cash reserve to purchase fuel for power plants, let alone other essentials such as food. This will trigger even more political instability and embolden Taliban elements to increase their efforts to control more remote stronghold areas as well as to start expanding into adjacent one. A nuclear power and the threat of those bombs getting into the wrong hands could result in serious consequences. IMHO I think this gives Saudi Arabia a chance to purchase their own nuclear arsenal.

Israel –

Nine Palestinians were killed during heavy clashes between gunmen and Israeli troops in Jenin on Thursday morning, according to Israeli media reports. The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that troops were engaged while attempting to detain Palestinian Islamic Jihad members planning a major terrorist attack.

OBSERVATION – These kinds of clashes between IDF and PIJ terrorists have developed into almost a daily occurrence. A significant part of this is the leadership crisis in the Palestinian authority that PIJ and Hamas are trying to exploit to push Abbas out and insert their own in his place. Their actions are gaining some support by those disaffected by Abbas’ rule.

Central / South America General-

Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said that he favors a broad trade agreement between the Mercosur South American trade bloc and China. Lula was in Uruguay to dissuade its government from making a solo trade deal with China.

OBSERVATION – China is making deals of the century in order to gain inroads into Central and South America in part to secure strategic minerals and oil sources and secondly to increasingly isolate the US in the hemisphere. Where Russia/Cuba failed, China is currently succeeding.

Globalism / Great Reset –

On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) released an update to the list of medicines that should be stockpiled in case of what it called “radiological and nuclear emergencies.” According to the report, almost half of the organization’s member nations were unequipped for such an emergency, and the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises have highlighted the need to ensure that people have access to necessary medications and supplies. The document supersedes a 2007 report and lists the medications that should be stockpiled and how to store and manage them.

OBSERVATION – As a prepper, review of my supplies status is a key item to identify outdated materials and shortfalls. The question some in the interwebs are asking is the WHO telegraphing an impeding event?

**
The Minnesota House passed legislation after seven hours of debate late Thursday night that would require the state’s electricity grid to be 100% carbon-free in 17 years.

OBSERVATION – The WEF advances its agenda bit by bit, using its useful idiots on the left to carry the water.

**
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued an alert to taxpayers on Tuesday, reminding them that they must report all digital asset-related income and answer a new digital asset question on their 2022 federal income tax return or face consequences such as delayed refunds or even penalties.

OBSERVATION – I fully expect an increased ‘squeeze’ on the crypto currencies over the course of the rest of this year, especially as the govt likely prepares for the roll out of CBDCs, designed to further govt oversight and control of American spending.

Wuhan virus –

Following the release of Pfizer big wig Jordon Trishton Walker secretly-recorded admission that Pfizer is mutating COVID-19 to create vaccines, James O’Keefe, confronted him and hilarity ensued.

Walker, who was described in the video as a Director of Research and Development, becomes combative with a physical confrontation eventually breaking out.

Pfizer released a late-Friday press release regarding the incident. In a lengthy statement, the pharmaceutical company claims it does not perform gain-of-function research. However it is clear that the company delves into a boatload of doublespeak and redefining terms to otherwise accept credit for essentially conducting gain of function research.

OBSERVATION - This is obfuscatory and confusing at best, and given Pfizer’s history of misleading the public (costing them billions in fines), there’s no reason to take the company’s word for anything.

**
California’s controversial COVID-19 misinformation law, which bars doctors from providing “misinformation” or “disinformation” related to COVID-19, is an unprecedented effort by those in power to block doctors from sharing their views on COVID-19 topics, including on vaccines, with their patients, an attorney says. And lawmakers had pivoted the initial bill from its true, intended purpose to be able to pass it.

A judge granted a preliminary injunction (pdf) late Wednesday, temporarily blocking the law from being enforced pending further litigation in two lawsuits. Jaffe is involved in one of the cases—Hoang v. Bonta. The other case is Hoeg v. Newsom. Both had argued, in part, that AB 2098 is unconstitutional under the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

OBSERVATION – kalifornia doubles down on the wuhan insanity, proving once again the plandemic is only a vehicle to exercise more power and silence real scientific debate and inquiry.

Economy –

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has declared a regional emergency in eight states due to a shortage of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel caused by the combination of low production and high demand. The agency, a component of the Department of Transportation responsible for regulating the trucking industry, made the declaration in response to the closure of a refinery in Colorado and the exceptionally severe winter weather that is causing demand for fuel to surge.

On Dec. 24, the Suncor Refinery in Commerce City, Colorado, unexpectedly shut down due to “extreme and record-setting weather,” according to the company’s press release. Suncor claimed the refinery isn’t expected to resume full operations until late into the first quarter of 2023.

OBSERVATION – No significant expansion of our refinery capability/capacity has been added in decades as any growth has been hamstrung by increasingly restrictive environmental laws and the volatile nature of the oil industry. Plus it has been cheaper to import gasoline/diesel from sources less hamstrung. So the loss of just one refinery can create serious ripples across the supply sector.
BTW – see Misc below – another arctic blast is targeting the country.

Invasion of Illegals –

Border Patrol agents in the Swanton Sector, which includes all of Vermont, in the first three months of fiscal 2023 apprehended more foreign nationals entering the country illegally than they did in the past two fiscal years combined, according to sector chief Robert Garcia.

The sector leads the northern border in illicit border crossings, whose agents continue to see a record number of foreign nationals illegally entering upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire after flying to Canada from at least 19 countries.

From Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2022, Swanton Sector agents saw a 743% increase in apprehensions and encounters compared to the same period last year, Garcia said. Combined apprehensions and encounters in the first three months of fiscal 2023 have already surpassed those of the entire fiscal 2022.
In December, Border Patrol agents apprehended more people than ever before, 441, according to data obtained by The Center Square from a Border Patrol agent. Agents also reported 14 who turned back to Canada and 135 who evaded capture and entered the U.S. illegally. Law enforcement doesn’t know who or where they are.

https://justthenews.com/nation/states/center-square/vermont-border-patrol-apprehensions-first-3-months-fiscal-2023

OBSERVATION – Most eyes have been on the southern border, but the Canadian border is far less guarded based on the assumption that Canada will more strongly protect itself against these transient illegals, thus reducing our need to crossing checkpoints.

CW2/Domestic violence –

Memphis PD on Friday released the body cam footage from the police stop of Tyre Nichols, who died three days after the incident. Protests / riots broke out in varying degrees in about a couple dozen major cities with the worst centered in Memphis TN. NYC, LA, Seattle and Portland saw higher levels of violence.

Five black policemen have been charged for murder. However, that didn’t stop MSM outlets like CNN from claiming that this was a ‘racist’ and “white supremacy,” based attack.

OBSERVATION – The attempt to tie ‘racism’ and ‘white supremacy’ into the mix given the police officers AND the chief of police are black seems to be a desperation attempt to throw gas on the fire. This incident has hit the leftist mantra of elimination of police forces though. Antifa has quickly joined the mix as one of their key elements is the elimination of police as well.

However, the absence of white/non-black police officers in the mix may work to cool off protests. Another mitigating factor is that the ‘national’ leadership of BLM is still hit with its own scandal – inhibiting national coordination.

I’m certain that if that were the case, given the short fuse Antifa seems to be working on combined with BLM involvement could result in more substantial riots. Additionally, this may begin a restructure of the national level BLM movement to new leadership.

One last note – arctic weather enroute to the eastern half of the nation (with serious sub-zero temps and even colder wind chills) may serve to deter prolonged protests.

CANCEL CULTURE FRONT

AT&T’s DirecTV de-platformed NewsMax, over alleged contract renewal disputes. Conservatives have noted that after stripping its systems of two (OAN being the other) of the three conservative news channels, DirecTV continues to carry 22 liberal news channels, many with low ratings and all getting hefty license fees.

OBSERVATION – Shaping of the 2024 information battlefield has clearly begun and this is just one of the many battlegrounds – access to the TV media.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Republican National Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel won re-election Friday after months of contentious fighting within the party from conservatives who argued that she was a Republican in name only. She also announced that this would be her last term.

OBSERVATION - RNC throws itself into a death spiral even more willingly. This will give her and the eGOP a fourth election to totally muddle up and continue to lose key conflicts between now and then – while she spends lavishly on herself.

**
The Pelosi officer cam video has been released, including video of the break in to the residence. Though it answers some questions, it has raised others.

China –

Standing down from the war watch as there just isn’t enough activity that I’ve seen to suggest that China will institute an initial blockade to ‘sway’ Taiwan to the negotiating table.

**
In an internal memorandum that first emerged on social media on Friday, and was later confirmed as genuine by the Pentagon, the head of the Air Mobility Command, General Mike Minihan, said the main goal should be to deter “and, if required, defeat” China.

“I hope I am wrong. My gut tells me we will fight in 2025,” Minihan said.
Laying out his reasoning, Minihan said Taiwan’s presidential elections next year would offer Chinese President Xi Jinping an excuse for military aggression, while the United States would be distracted by its own contest for the White House.

OBSERVATION - The logic is sound and even though China didn’t initiate a blockade of sorts now, that option is still the most likely of the intial gambits China could use to try to get Taiwan to surrender without a war. A blockade to choke off Taiwan during their election plus chaos in the US during our election cycle is very plausible.

**
Wang Huning is expected to become the deputy director of the Central Leading Group for Taiwan Affairs, the party’s top decision-making body on China’s Taiwan policy. The top director is Xi.

One source knowledgeable of China-Taiwan relations noted that Wang will be tasked with writing a theoretical unification strategy fit for the Xi era.

“One may assume that a threat of China using force to unify Taiwan is imminent, but this is not the case. The first step is to launch a new theory that will replace Deng’s one country, two systems. Then pressure will be put on Taiwan based on it,” the source explained.

The source expects this theory to become a yardstick with which to measure progress and to decide if a military operation is necessary.

Xi wants to chalk up an achievement in regard to Taiwan at any cost over the next five years, which would help his quest to seek a fourth term as head of the party in 2027.

OBSERVATION – The tea leaves are not becoming any clearer, but China can play the long game, especially to avoid a costly and risky military action. A 2025-2027 window is plausible (see other note above) but global crises (like Ukraine) may allow China to accelerate its plans.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

While Russia has nuclear capability, the probability is low that any will be used in the near future.

********

A recent altercation between Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin & former Russian officer Igor Girkin is exposing a new domain for competition among Russian nationalist groups for political influence in Russia against the backdrop of Russian military failures in Ukraine.

OBSERVATION – Maneuvering to replace putin and pin the massive Ukrainian failure on him. Dangerous business continuing to simmer.

Russian Personnel Issues –-
- Though largely RUMINT, there are persistent reports that a mobilization of drug addicts was included in the recent mobilization. According to some sources, drug use has continued even while on the front lines.

- Persistent rumors that Putin is prepared to order a second wave of Russian mobilization which includes the coerced recruitment of convicts and not-yet-citizens in addition to the drug addicts. In addition to this recruitment strategy is the expansion of eligibility requirements. Ukrainian intelligence officials predict that Russia may announce a plan to mobilize an additional 500,000 soldiers “in the coming days.”

- The Wagner Group is facing difficulties finding new recruits after suffering huge casualties in eastern Ukraine, according to reports. It’s said to be trying to find recruits in Central Asian prisons and possibly even merging with Ruslan Kadyrov’s Chechen forces. Wagner reportedly has attempted to recruit more inmates without much success. The prisoners are well aware of the use of their fellow convicts as cannon fodder and now mostly refuse to go.

- A cemetery used to bury Wagner fighters has been mapped via commercial satellite imagery and has grown nearly 10 fold over the past few months. According to Reuters, there were around 200 graves at the site on the outskirts of Bakinskaya village in Krasnodar region when Reuters visited in late January. Videos and photographs of the graves first appeared on social media channels in the Krasnodar region in December. Reuters geolocated these images to the Bakinskaya cemetery and reviewed satellite imagery of the site from Maxar Technologies and Capella Space. Satellite pictures show that the Wagner plot was empty in the summer, had three rows of graves by the end of November and was three-quarters full by early January. Virtually the entire plot was used by Jan. 24. Analysis suggests that Bakinskaya cemetery seen in satellite pictures, as well as a nearby secondary location in the nearby town of Goryachy Klyuch, may hold around 1,000 dead Wagner soldiers.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Rain and snow letting up with increasing number of days that are below freezing and for much of eastern Ukraine, a multi-day episode of sub-freezing temperatures on the way.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Status quo remains along the eastern front with very little changes to who controls what territory. There has been a lot of noise from the Russian milbloggers about massive breakthroughs, but there is no evidence to support their claims and are most likely propaganda for the homeland.

OUTLOOK ——
Both sides are essentially in a operational ‘pause’ as they scramble to get forces and equipment into positions for expected offensives/counteroffensives.

Smaller level fighting along the LOC in eastern Ukraine is to be expected to continue.

Israel –

A quick recap - Nine Palestinians were killed during heavy clashes between gunmen and Israeli troops in Jenin. This resulted in the PIJ launching a couple of rockets towards Israel that were easily intercepted. IAF responded by pounding the snot out of some Hamas underground facilities.

Then things escalated - Five men, aged 20, 25, 30, 50, and 60, and two women, aged 60 and 70, killed in the shooting attack in a Jerusalem synagogue. Wounded victims include 15 y/o boy, 24 y/o man, and 60 y/o woman. Israeli police killed the culprit as he tried to escape and the pali contingent in Jenin broke out in massive celebrations over the murders.

To make matters worse (for Israel) the synagogue shooting happened on Holocaust Memorial Day, which commemorates the six million Jews and other victims who were killed in the Holocaust by the Nazi regime in Germany.

In an initial response, Israel swept into the Jenin community and arrested at least 45 suspected terrorists.

OBSERVATION – Rest assured that a stronger Israeli response is in the works.
NOTE – The airstrikes hit Hamas facilities, not PIJ. Hamas did not crack down on Islamic Jihad to stop them from launching rockets and as the defacto rulers of Gaza, Israel holds them accountable for any action by other terror groups..

Iran –

Iran has enough highly enriched uranium to build “several” nuclear weapons if it chooses, according to a United Nations’ top nuclear official. For months, nonproliferation experts have suggested Iran had enough uranium enriched up to 60% to build at least one nuclear weapon.

OBSERVATION – For a nuclear weapon, purity has to reach 90%+ levels, so the “enough” statement must refer to having enough 60% to make the final jump to 90%.

**
Azerbaijani security sources claim Iranian special services are behind the terrorist attack against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran. Employees of the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran are ‘leaving the country’ following today’s attack against the embassy, diplomatic sources tell Haqqin

OBSERVATION – Iran has been looking to pick a fight with Azeris for a number of years now and that has increased with the recent Azeri/Armenian fight. One of Iran’s word curses is that Azeri is a puppet of Israel – who is the second largest supplier of military hardware to the country. However, coordinating an attack on an official embassy is really looking to step over the escalation line.

Misc of Note –

An arctic blast looming this weekend has the potential to be the most significant winter cooldown for the northern tier of the country since December.
The FOX Forecast Center said highs will be 25 to 40 degrees below average Saturday and Sunday for much of the central and northern Plains and Midwest, with highs more than 30 degrees below average from Montana to western Kansas on Sunday. This will correspond to temperatures staying in the teens and single digits.

OBSERVATION – Bracing here in the Redoubt as temps have dropped over 10 degrees in the past hour. Hopefully people learned from the December arctic blast and are better prepared.

Nice, brisk -23 here in my corner of the Redoubt and likely to go a little lower before sunrise. This is still a lot better than the -36 experienced just before Christmas last month.

Globalism / Great Reset –

The Supreme Court of Vermont ruled Friday that noncitizens in the state’s capital city of Montpellier will be allowed to vote in local elections. The court ruled that noncitizens voting in municipal elections does not violate the state’s constitution, stating that citizenship requirements only apply to federal elections.

“The statute allowing noncitizens to vote in local Montpelier elections does not violate Chapter II, § 42 because that constitutional provision does not apply to local elections,” the New Hampshire Supreme Court wrote in its ruling.

At the federal level, House Democrats have pushed for an amendment that would remove citizenship requirements for voting in U.S. elections.

OBSERVATION – Dilution of citizens rights and the move for a ‘global’ citizenry. Starts small. Already been efforts on the left coast for similar. The WEF et al seek to eliminate all national sovernty and that includes voting rights.

Wuhan virus –

Multiple nations now are ceasing administering the jab to the 20 – 50 year range, citing the association of the mRNA ‘vaccine’ to the increased health risks and excessive death rates.

Economy –

A December report showing the massive drop in real disposable income, which fell over $1 trillion last year and is the second-largest drop since 1932, the worst year of the Great Depression has drawn concern by economists.

Heritage economist E.J. Antoni said.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/gdp-report-reveals-ominous-great-depression-warning-sign-1932

“To keep up with inflation, consumers are depleting their savings and burning through the “stimulus” checks they received during 2020 and 2021. Credit card debt continues growing, while savings plummeted $1.6 trillion last year, falling below 2009 levels.”.

OBSERVATION - The general consensus seems to be that with depleted savings and credit availability, any recession will become exceptionally hard as those individual resources won’t be available for use.

CW2/Domestic violence –

Protests / riots continued in varying degrees in about a couple dozen major cities with the worst centered in Memphis TN. Once again, NYC, LA, Seattle and Portland saw higher levels of violence. In LA particularly, the police were ordered to stand down.

OBSERVATION – Antifa is taking the lead in many of these cities – particularly their stronghold blues. Elimination of the police is one of their cardinal doctrines and this plays into it well. Black racists are still trying to spin the killing into some sort of white supremecy bleat, although all the officers involved were black, predominantly black city council and a black police chief.

LA’s police standdown likely cost businesses millions as ‘protestors’ broke windows and looted without police intervention. Bad precident.

Strategic Activity / Deployments –

The dry docks, three at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton, Wash., and the delta pier at the Trident Refit Facility in Bangor, Wash., are still certified to overhaul nuclear submarines, but the Navy has decided to keep the dry docks empty pending further investigation.

“The seismic assessment and expert validation enhances the Navy’s knowledge of the potential issues associated with a large earthquake occurring during a submarine maintenance availability,” reads a statement from the service.
“With this new knowledge, the Navy determined that it needs to remediate specific vulnerabilities to ensure the safety of the shipyard workforce, sailors, the local public, the environment and the submarines.”

OBSERVATION – This will have a significant impact on the necessary maintenance of our submarine force and it will be in effect for a long time if any retrofitting is deemed necessary.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Status quo remains along the eastern front with very little changes to who controls what territory. Reports out that Russia is cycling out Wagner Group forces and replacing them with regular Russian forces at Bahkmut.

OUTLOOK ——
Battles will continue in the same areas, with no significant changes. The battle for Bahkmut may be changing in Ukraine’s favor with the swapping out of Wagner Group for regular Russian elements. FWIW, though brutal, Wagner had a better leadership core. The regular troops will be having less experienced and competent leaders and likely more strained vertical communications. All this means that continued attacks to seize Bahkmut will likely be less effective.

Israel –

Blamed for the attack overnight on Iran, see below

**
In response to rising terror attacks/shootings by Palestinians in east Jerusalem, Police there have called on citizens with firearm license to carry their weapons. One terror attack recently that resulted in the wounding of two Israelis was stopped by another armed Israeli.

Iran –

What the heck happened in Iran overnight? This much I’ve been able to piece together. There were apparently several (by some counts a dozen) explosions at Iranian ammunition, petroleum and other sites. The confusion exploded as the interwebs started to see OLD videos of things that happened years ago in Iran being posted as just happening.

Multiple Middle Eastern media sources tonight are reporting that Israel has launched a Military Operation against Iran but so far nothing has been officially announced by the Israeli Government or Military. The weapons have been referred to as “micro” drones, drones and possibly cruise missiles (a type of drone). Iran claimed it shot them all down, but the explosions speak otherwise. Iran also reportedly deployed fighters over Tehran and there were reports of some AA gunfire.

Below is the best list of locations hit that I’ve been able to put together. All reportedly happened in a relatively close proximity time wise.

1. Isfahan at an ammunition factory facility (confirmed by the Iranian govt – a Shahed drone plant is also located near there, though reportedly not hit)
2. Azarshahr in East Azerbaijan Province (massive fire)
3. Karaj and Tehran (footage circulating, unclear)
4. Khoy West Azerbaijan Province – earthquake (confirmed - magnitude 5.9 ) caused exploding transformers ?
5. Hamedan & Dezful (unconfirmed)

As noted above, the middle eastern media has immediately pinned the blame on Israel. However, many have noted that though these strikes appear to have been well planned and executed, the TARGET SET is un-Israeli, given recent statements by Israeli govt. If Israel were to launch a strike on Iran, they would be targeting facilities of immediate danger to Israel such as nuclear facilities, missile bases, govt command and control, etc. and not the targets being reported. Israel would have one opportunity for a first strike and would make every bomb count.

As I noted on Saturday’s post, the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was attacked with one killed and two wounded. Azerbaijan has blamed Iranian Republican guards for the assault and reportedly is in the process of evacuation its personnel out of Iran. The two countries have been engaged in some pretty nasty verbal exchanges most recently surrounding the Azeri attack on Armenia and how Iranian commerce was blocked from Armenia. Iran accused the Azeri’s of being Israeli – friendly as Israel is one of the leading suppliers of military material.

However, an attack on an embassy is next to declaring war, and the Azeri’s may have seen it as such. They have a lot of experience and technical expertise gained from the Turks and Israel to pull off such an attack. Many have noted that some of the targets are very close to the Azerbaijan border. The target set would be more suitable for a country like Azerbaijan to attack, making them the most likely culprit.

Also remember – the appearance of strength is critical in the arab mindset. If the Azeri’s pulled this off, Iran now looks very weak and could trigger escalation, though they may be using it to raise stakes with Israel.

Globalism / Great Reset –

North Korea, fraud, and financial losses are some of the dangers emanating from the cryptocurrency industry, according to a White Houseblog published on Jan. 27. It argued for enhanced oversight of cryptocurrencies more broadly, requesting help from financial regulatory bodies and Congressional lawmakers.
The blog—co-written by national security adviser Jake Sullivan, National Economic Council Director Brian Deese, Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Arati Prabhakar, and Council of Economic Advisors Chair Cecilia Rouse—outlined the administration’s strategy for mitigating the risks associated with cryptocurrencies.

“Privacy coins”—cryptocurrencies that algorithmically “wash” transactions to obfuscate their ownership history—appear to be in the sights of the Biden administration as well. The briefing linked to a 2022 report (pdf) that listed privacy coins under the “Malicious Acts” section of the report, mentioning that such tokens are the preferred medium of exchange for criminals and bad actors.

Proponents of the popular privacy coin Monero view the ability to transact with anonymity as one of the core tenets underpinning the crypto movement.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/white-house-targets-cryptocurrencies-calls-for-stronger-enforcement-by-regulators_5018639.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport

OBSERVATION – World govt must get rid of cryptos in order to seize control of all financial transactions for monitoring under the ESG. The privacy aspect of such exchanges currently stymies that effort. Here is an effort by the US – and similar taking place around the world – to generate justification for govt oversight and elimination of any anonymity as a step to enforce the CBDC efforts.

The US Interior Department blocked Antofagasta’s Twin Metals mining project in northeast Minnesota, withdrawing 225,504 acres in Superior National Forest from leasing to mining companies through 2043. The Twin Metals project was expected to be a major source of copper and nickel. The only existing U.S. nickel mine is scheduled to close in 2025.

OBSERVATION – Just like with petroleum/fossil fuels, biden is trying to kill off the mining industry. Someone should tell him copper and nickel are critical for all the EVs he wants to see on the roads in our future. The actions can also be seen as another form of economic redistribution – causing us to rely on third world sources (with their hideous track record of environmental protection) and our $$ going there rather than develop resources here. We saw how foolhardy outsourcing critical supplies to other countries is when wuhan hit - this will be just another critical supply hit eventually as well.

**
On Saturday, Connecticut-based Hillendale Farms egg farm burned down. Unconfirmed reports claim over 100,000 chickens died. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

OBSERVATION – Facility was the largest egg producers for Hillendale Farms and will impact the already stressed egg market further. Remember – eggs go into a lot of items, so the prices for a dozen eggs will also be reflected in food requiring the use of eggs as well. Some are looking at this as just another in a line of suspicious destructions of food processing and production facilities. I am wary of confirmation bias pushing these claims, but the reality is this is a major loss that will take a lot of time to rebuild and replace.

CW2/Domestic violence –

There were a few more protests overnight, but not as large as earlier. The leftists appear to be having problems spinning up the racist angle on the death. Police in Philadelphia turned out in greater numbers for the “celebration” of the Eagles’ win than they did the BLM/Antifa riots.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Robert Gates, former President Barack Obama’s Secretary of Defense, slammed politicians’ handling of classified information during an interview over the weekend where he also took a shot at President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Ukraine.

When asked about recent classified document scandals that have engulfed Trump, Biden, and former Vice President Mike Pence, Gates said that the problem is that the people who are handling the documents are negligent.
“You have a legacy, I think, in Washington of sort of being a guy that sort of fixes sort of dumb problems. Meaning Like stuff — you’re like, “Why isn’t this fixed?” Todd continued. “So how would you [fix] this classified document situation that our politics finds itself in, is this something that the bureaucracy should fix? Or is there something more nefarious?”

“Well, I think – I think it’s about people being more responsible,” Gates responded. “I think there’s an element of carelessness. In some cases there may be intent to take the documents. I think maybe we ought to look at the way transitions take place, so that there’s a more orderly process for these classified documents.”

Gates warned back in 2019 that Biden had been “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
https://www.dailywire.com/news/obamas-secretary-of-defense-slams-biden-over-classified-doc-scandal-handling-of-ukraine-war

OBSERVATION - Gates makes a good point on people being more ‘responsible’ in their handling of classified materials. But he didn’t give biden an out on it either, questioning if it was an accident or on purpose. Gates has been a biden critic, but that the MSM is letting him out to speak against the classified scandal is just another indicator that the swamp may be in the mode to jettison biden and get a “better” canidate in line for 2024.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

********

All evidence indicates Russia is trying to initiate its offensive prior to Ukraine getting the western tanks up and into its formations.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Temperatures will remain around freezing with an increase in snow. For the soils to properly freeze up, subfreezing temperature need to be sustained for a longer period.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Russia has managed to capture some terrain north of Bahkmut and northwest of Soldar. This is the closest to a Russian breakout that they’ve had for a very long time. Advances could result in an encirclement of Bahkmut.
Otherwise, pretty much status quo along the LOC

OUTLOOK ——
Russia has gained a degree of initiative around Bahkmut but at a high cost to Russian forces. The continued bleeding of Russian recruits is going to compound its efforts to pull together an invasion force large enough to seize the Donbas.

Belarus -

Training areas continue to be active in the central and western regions of Belarus. Covert observers do not note activity that would indicate any thing other than training. No buildup on the southern Belarus border.

Israel –

Iranian drone attack – see update under Iran.

**
Ongoing clashes in Al Issawiyah neighborhood E of Jerusalem City; Molotov Cocktails and firecrackers hurled at ISF. The escalation in Palestinian terrorism in recent days may create the necessity for sarge-scale Israeli military operations in the West Bank later this year a former defense official says.

Col. (res.) David Hacham, a senior research associate at the MirYam Institute and a former Arab relations adviser to seven Israeli defense ministers notes that “Terrorists are portrayed in Palestinian society as martyrs and heroes and are embraced as a symbol of the Palestinian struggle against Israel, while their families receive financial assistance from the Palestinian Authority. Palestinian society glorifies the dead terrorists, which encourages other young people to follow in their footsteps and join the cycle of terrorism against Israeli targets.”

Hacham also linked the latest escalation to events in Judea and Samaria, where on Thursday, Israeli security forces shot dead nine Palestinians—eight of them gunmen—in a firefight in Jenin as they broke up a Palestinian Islamic Jihad cell preparing large-scale, imminent terror attacks.

“These incidents are occurring against the backdrop of the P.A.’s [the Palestinian Authority’s] obvious weakness. The P.A. is struggling to control territory. It does not control Jenin, where its security forces are barred from entering. Similarly, P.A. control in Nablus and Hebron has been eroded to varying degrees. Under these conditions, the IDF operates in areas from which the P.A. is absent, and this further weakens its posture and authority and reveals its fragility,” he assessed.

Hacham also called attention to the fact that P.A. Chairman Mahmoud Abbas did not denounce the synagogue attack in Jerusalem in even the mildest terms. This lack of condemnation reflects the fierce anti-Israeli environment that prevails on the Palestinian street today, in which any condemnation “would be perceived negatively by Palestinians,” Hacham said.

https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=5867

OBSERVATION – I’ve noted that the increase in terror by groups like the PIJ reflect issues with weakness seen in Abbas and the PA. Netanyahu has already announced the Israeli govt is looking into stronger actions against these terrorists in the west bank and more specifically, those operating in east Jerusalem. Things could get explosive as any military move into the West Bank will likely trigger another rocket war from Gaza towards Israel.

Iran –

Actual facts surrounding the weekend attacks in Iran are still muddled in the smoke and haze of propaganda on both sides. What has been clarified so far –

1. Israel appears to have been behind an overnight drone attack on a military factory in the Iranian city of Isfahan, a US official tells Reuters
2. At least four, large multirotor drones hit the facility.

Still under question – the extent of damages at Isfahan and the causes of the multiple other explosions/fires in other areas of Iran that occurred at nearly the same time.

Iran is downplaying any damage, saying the drones didn’t penetrate the metal ‘fence’ (like a chain-link fence) that covered the facility hit, placed there for protection from drones (similar defense if being employed by Ukraine against Russian lancet suicide drones). Iran showed a photo of the alledged target, with some evidence of scorch marks identifying the impact site – as well as drone fragments. Their defense ministry said the explosion caused only minor damage and no casualties. The extent of the damage could not be independently confirmed.

Despite Iranian claims, the Israeli drone attack on Iran at Isfahan was a tremendous success, according to a mix of Western intelligence sources and foreign sources, The Jerusalem Post initially reported on Sunday morning.

So far, commercial satellite imagery of the facility supports Iran’s claims.

The short range of the drones indicates that they would have had to been launched within Iran and it is believed the Mossad is the element responsible.

OBSERVATION – With a couple more days worth of analysis, my thoughts that it was Azerbaijan were quickly dashed. What shocked me was just how QUICKLY the US intelligence “sources” toss Israel under the bus as the source of the attacks.

My second surprise was that the Mossad apparently didn’t note the chain-link fence style protection over the facility. Not like them to make that kind of a mistake. Well, they learned something.

Still wondering about the other explosions/fires that hit about 8 – 10 cities all within the same time frame. Some may be legit related to the earthquake in one incidence and other reasons, but the timing is still highly coincidental. Perhaps Iranian fixation on the Isfahan attack is being used to misdirect analysis/evaluation of these other sites.

**
On top of the drone strikes and hit on IRGC / militias at the Syrian border, protests got violent over the weekend in one location. Iranian revolutionaries also got involved in a protest in Javanrod and intense shooting battle broke out. It is reported that police stations and IRGC bases were attacked.

Iraq -

See Israeli airstrike at the Syrian/Iraqi border below.

Syria -

Unidentified (probable Israeli) aircraft targeted Iranian militia sites near Al-Bukamal on the Syrian-Iraqi border. it appears the airstrikes targeted HQs belonging to the Iranian militias. Other reports indicate that the airstrikes also hit a gathering of Iranian militia trucks. The convoy was reportedly en-route to Al-Bukamal and was likely carrying weapons resupplies.

There are rumors that a high ranking Iranian IRGC commander and two of his guards were killed by the air strike.

OBSERVATION – Almost standard fare, if it wasn’t for the events of the drone strikes in Iran this weekend.

OTOH, if I were Iran, I’d be pretty concerned about this stike. Israel probably used its F-35s for their stealth capability and they flew across Syria without any detection. Iran doesn’t have any better radar capabilities, so this strike shows Israel can penetrate hostile airspace to do what it wants.

Wuhan virus –

Pfizer’s bivalent shot for Covid has shown a potential link to stroke in people 65 and older. Bloomberg

**
On Monday, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the pandemic is not yet over.
“As you know, on Friday, the emergency committee met to consider whether that remains the case. The committee has advised me that, in its view, COVID-19 remains a global health emergency. And I agree,” Tedros said during the 152nd WHO Executive Board meeting.

IN RELATED - Biden is expected to end the Covid-19 Emergency Declarations on May 11th.

OBSERVATION – The globalists recognize that the ‘emergency’ powers they got from the plandemic are being eroded in many countries and these globalist overlords don’t want to have to reinvent the wheel for the next crisis.

Economy –

Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarty (R-CA) are scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss raising the debt ceiling. Biden said he would not negotiate spending cuts with McCarthy, claiming that House Republicans want to raise prices on everyday Americans.

OBSERVATION – Here comes the train wreck – playing chicken with the American economy.

**
The national average price of retail gasoline rose for the fifth straight week Sunday, according to data compiled by GasBuddy, with higher oil prices and lower refinery utilization being driving factors. The national average is up to $3.49 per gallon, a 33.3-cent rise from a month ago.

OBSERVATION – Not good news as this will be further reflected in continued high inflation.

**
The Federal Reserve is widely expected to announce its eighth consecutive rate hike at this week’s policy meeting. This time it is believed that, Fed officials likely will approve a 0.25 percentage point increase as inflation starts to ease, a more modest pace compared with earlier super-size moves in 2022.

OBSERVATION – will this slowdown prevent the recession that so many other economists and businesses are expecting? We’ll have to see what their cooked numbers come out to.

CW2/Domestic violence –

Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is considering declaring a public health emergency to promote abortion access, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra told Axios Monday.

The HHS believes it has the authority to declare a public emergency, but it is only one of many options on the table, according to Becerra, who argued there was an ongoing “reproductive health crisis” since Roe v. Wade was overturned. The agency has not completed a full assessment on a declaration, its conditions and whether it’s merited, he told Axios.

“There are discussions on a wide range of measures … that we can take to try to protect people’s rights,” he said. “There are certain criteria that you look for to be able to declare a public health emergency. That’s typically done by scientists and those that are professionals in those fields who will tell us whether we are in a state of emergency and based on that, I have the ability to make a declaration.”

OBSERVATION – This is another example of the lawlessness of the biden regime, and a slap to the face of the USSC. Such a declaration will generate violence, rest assured and pro-life states will be forced to stand up against the fed grab for power.

Strategic Activity / Deployments –

T he U.S. military is poised to secure expanded access to key bases in the Philippines on the heels of a significant revamp of U.S. force posture in Japan — developments that reflect the allies’ concern with an increasingly fraught security environment in the region and a desire to deepen alliances with the United States, according to U.S. and Philippine officials.
While negotiations are still ongoing, an announcement is expected as soon as this week when Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin meets in Manila with his counterpart, Carlito Galvez, acting secretary of National Defense, and then with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The expansion involves access to Philippine military bases, likely including two on the northern island of Luzon — which, analysts said, could give U.S. forces a strategic position from which to mount operations in the event of a conflict in Taiwan or the South China Sea. They will also facilitate cooperation on a range of security concerns, including more rapid responses to natural disasters and climate-related events.
https://www.americanpartisan.org/2023/01/us-military-poised-to-secure-new-access-to-key-philippine-bases/

OBSERVATION – Pieces continue to be moved into position for the inevitable confrontation with China.

China –

Speaker McCarthy is planning a trip to Taiwan this spring and the Chinese government is not happy about that. China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning is delivering a message to McCarthy – don’t come.

“We urge certain individuals in the U.S. to earnestly abide by the one-China principle,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said in a Monday briefing, adding that the U.S. should “stop doing anything that violates the basic norms in international relations.”

OBSERVATION – A visit will likely trigger the same kind of numerous ‘exercises’ around Taiwan that followed pelosi’s visit. This will raise tensions between the US and China. However, China knows full well that any overt attempt to prevent the visit could cause things to go out of their control.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

CURRENT ASSESSMENT
Russia is currently working to (re)assemble a military force capable of resuming the offensive in the Donbas while at the same time trying to make defensive preparations for an expected Ukrainian offensive as well. Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Temperatures will remain around freezing with an increase in snow. For the soils to properly freeze up, subfreezing temperature need to be sustained for a longer period.

RUMINT –

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
No significant changes on the ground. Russia appears to be gaining the advantage around Bahkmut following the addition of Russian Airborne and regular units to the fight. Also appears to be an increase in Russian artillery strikes in the east as well.

Ukraine is now visually confirmed to have lost more than 450 tanks since Russia began its invasion of the country on February 24. To compensate for these losses, Ukraine has received 450 MBTs from NATO and is set to receive at least 100 more. Ukraine has also captured 546 MBTs.
NOTE – Russia continues to be the leading tank supplier to Ukraine.

OUTLOOK ——
Discussions now focusing on a Spring offensive by both. Monitoring to see who gets there with the mostest first.

IMHO, Russia has a lot of hurdles to overcome in order to get a reasonable offensive together. It lost most (nearly all”?) of its higher quality forces and equipment over the course of the war.
1. Mobilized conscripts with just a few months training along with a skeleton officer corps makes coordination of such an offensive even more difficult than the failed initial invasion.
2. Equipment - Russia is scraping the bottom of the bucket for tanks, armor and truck. Recent reports I’ve seen indicate that they are stealing from tanks purchased by other countries and sending them to the front. As noted above - Ukraine is in the net plus column on tanks alone from Russia.
3. Skilled operators are lacking for these tanks that Russia has been able to scrap together - a spinoff of #1 above.
4. Ukraine still has home field advantage
5. Wagner and Chechen forces are becoming increasing ineffective and political infighting with the MoD is shortening them for supplies. Word has gotten out regarding Wagner tactics of human wave attacks, reducing the pool of potential ‘recruits’ who don’t want to go into their meat grinder.
6. Logistics in general. Ukraine has this figured out, while Russia has been forced to more widely disperse its supply depots - increasing the transportation burden
7. Worn out artillery - though Russia still has an advantage in total tubes, combat is quickly wearing them out.
8. Russia continues to fail to establish air superiority.
9. The amphibious assault threat is still neutered as remaining ships are stuck shuttling supplies formerly carried over the Kerch Bridge.

Inspire of the obstacles, any russian spring offensive will be ugly.

.
Europe / NATO General –

NATO sees Russia preparing for a new offensive, with the aim of capturing all of Ukraine - Stoltenberg
“We see that the Russians are preparing for a new offensive, that they are mobilizing more soldiers, more than 200,000 people, and possibly even more.

Middle East / N. Africa General -

Yemen: Reports of a US drone strike earlier today in a Wadi in Marib targeting several senior Al-Qaeda. Reports a vehicle was targeted with an R9X missile killing three.

OBSERVATION – The R9X is the ‘ninja’ missile that slices, dices and makes julian fries out of its target.

Israel –

In a statement condemning the suspected Israeli drone attack in Iran, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“We strongly condemn any provocative actions potentially capable of provoking an uncontrolled escalation of tension in an already far from calm region. Such destructive actions may have unpredictable consequences for peace and stability in the Middle East,”

OBSERVATION – Could well be considered a veiled threat towards Israel.

**
Israeli defense force has raised its readiness level in anticipation of an Iranian response to the Isfahan attack. Forces are looking at the possibility of missile or drone strikes launched from Yemen or Syria.

OBSERVATION – A drone strike from Syria may face resistance from Assad who doesn’t want his military in the Israeli crosshairs. Yemen, striking via southern Israel is more plausible. However, Iran has to be very careful not to poke the bear.

Iran –

Azerbaijani media report that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan conducted a special operation in the editorial office of SalamNews and Interaz TV channel. 6 people detained, they are accused of propagating Iranian policy

Syria -

Syrian Iraq. Reports IRGC backed militias are on high alert for further airstrikes and have evacuated a number of command buildings and moved assets from a number of compounds in the border regions.

OBSERVATIION – I think they realize Israel is in target acquisition mode and unafraid to execute on solid intelligence. The best defense being a good offense.

Central / South America General-

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte announced on Sunday that she would soon present two proposals: to hold presidential elections this year, rather than in 2026 as planned, and “total” constitutional reform.
Boluarte vowed to make the changes if the nation’s Congress failed to pass the measures. The latter, a core demand of far-left rioters whose violence has resulted in 58 deaths and counting, would essentially result in a complete overhaul of Peru’s constitution. Leftists have been rioting in the country for nearly two months, erecting roadblocks to cut food supplies and burning down historic buildings, following the impeachment and arrest of unpopular communist former President Pedro Castillo.

OBSERVATION - Peru could be facing serious consequences if they support an overhaul of its constitution. Leftist violence will soon shift to voter suppression in order to get its way.

Sorry, had to take a down day yesterday because, well I was feeling pretty down and wore out. My posting here is just my sharing my own global monitoring of events that can eventually effect my family. The onslaught of what honestly has to be demonically inspired chaos can be pretty hard to track after these years.

So today’s post is a little longer than normal.

Globalism / Great Reset –

EU Commission President says the “fight against climate change is a must” before announcing the “Green Deal Industrial Plan” for the European Union.

**
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissioner Mark T. Uyeda says that establishing formal standards for rating companies’ adherence to liberal environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals and ideology could have Orwellian consequences.
In a speech last Thursday, the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) commissioner shared his personal opinions regarding the Labor Department’s new rule on ESG investing by retirement account managers under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

“The emerging system has more in common with a George Orwell novel than what anyone would consider an accepted financial analysis tool,” Uyeda concluded.

https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/sec-commissioner-warns-creating-esg-rating-standards-could-have-orwellian

OBSERVATION - ESG is a component that is designed to crash our present economic system.

Wuhan virus –

People are wondering what is so special about May 11 for biden to choose that day to lift the ‘emergency’.

Economy –

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised its benchmark interest rate for an eighth straight time by a quarter percentage point and gave little indication it is nearing the end of this hiking cycle.
The post-meeting statement noted that inflation “has eased somewhat but remains elevated,” a tweak on previous language.

“Inflation data received over the past three months show a welcome reduction in the monthly pace of increases,” Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said in his post-meeting news conference. “And while recent developments are encouraging, we will need substantially more evidence to be confident that inflation is on a sustained downward path.”
Markets, however, were looking to this week’s meeting for signs that the Fed would be ending the rate increases soon. But the statement provided no such signals.

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/01/fed-rate-decision-february-2023-quarter-point-hike.html

OBSERVATION – Very sparse on the current impacts to the economy that the rate increases have inflicted. As noted elsewhere today, food price pressures still indicate more inflation, higher rates are beginning to devastate the housing and bank lending markets, and global instabilities are continuing to inflame petroleum prices.

**
S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) today released the latest results for the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices, the leading measure of U.S. home prices. Data released today for November 2022 show that home prices declined across the United States.

YEAR-OVER-YEAR
The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index, covering all nine U.S. census divisions, reported a 9.2% annual gain in November, down from 10.7% in the previous month. The 10- City Composite annual increase came in at 8.0%, down from 9.6% in the previous month. The 20-City Composite posted a 8.6% year-over-year gain, down from 10.4% in the previous month.

MONTH-OVER-MONTH
Before seasonal adjustment, the U.S. National Index posted a -0.6% month-over-month decrease in November, while the 10-City and 20-City Composites posted decreases of -0.7% and -0.8%, respectively.
After seasonal adjustment, the U.S. National Index posted a month-over-month decrease of -0.3%, and the 10-City and 20-City Composites both posted decreases of -0.5%. In November, all 20 cities reported declines before seasonal adjustments. After seasonal adjustments, 19 cities reported declines, with only Detroit increasing 0.1%.

ANALYSIS
“November 2022 marked the fifth consecutive month of declining home prices in the U.S.,” says Craig J. Lazzara, Managing Director at S&P DJI. “For example, the National Composite Index fell -0.6% for the month, reflecting a -3.6% decline since the market peaked in June 2022. We saw comparable patterns in our 10- and 20-City Composites, both of which stand more than -5.0% below their June peaks. These declines, of course, came after very strong price increases in late 2021 and the first half of 2022. Despite its recent weakness, on a year-over-year basis the National Composite gained 7.7%, which is in the 74th percentile of historical performance levels.”

OBSERVATION – Bottom line is the prices combined with the interest rates of mortgages still have housing priced outside of most people’s capabilities to buy.

**
The U.S. cattle population dropped to just over 28 million head, the lowest level since 1962. According to one ag economist, “Even though feeder cattle prices are quite high, it’s the uncertainty around feed supply and drought conditions. It’s hard to make the investment, if you’re not sure how weather is going to play out or if you’re going to have the grass available to support those heifers.”

RELATED
High fertilizer prices and drought in 2022 handed hay production in the United States its biggest decline in 11 years with stocks at their lowest level since data collection began, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The stats were part of the Jan. 12 Crop Production Summary from NASS, which is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The report includes information about all U.S. crops, their production, acreage, and yield. NASS places hay in two categories, alfalfa and “other hay,” the latter being relevant to the Southeastern U.S.

According to the summary, May 1 hay stocks were tight, totaling 16.77 million tons or 7 percent lower year over year.

“May 1 stocks, combined with lower 2022 hay production, put hay supplies at the lowest level on record since the data began in 1974,” said James Mitchell, extension economist for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. “The previous record low in hay supplies was in 2021.”

OBSERVATION – BLUF- continued high beef prices for the foreseeable future. It will take several years for herds to return to pre-drought levels. A wetter winter so far makes the outlook for hay this year far better but it too will take a couple years to make up the losses.

Biden / Harris watch –

CBS News reports that the FBI conducted its own search of the Penn Biden Center in mid-November after Biden’s attorneys found the data stored illegally there. Their sources claim that Biden and his team cooperated and that a search warrant didn’t get issued, but that late revelation once again raises the question of what else the White House hasn’t disclosed.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/biden-documents-fbi-search-penn-biden-center/

OBSERVATION - This appears to be more maneuvering in the news sphere preparing the final push to have biden step back from a 2024 run. Remember, the past two years the MSM has carried the water for him, now appears to be turning on him.

Harris gushed with joy over her love for school busses Monday.

“These are gonna remain yellow school buses, because who doesn’t love a yellow school bus? They will remain yellow but their heart will be green!”

OBSERVATION - This is the nightmare that awaits democrats if for any reason biden cannot finish his term in office.

Speaking of which - Via New York Post:
“Some Democrats are questioning whether Vice President Kamala Harris has the political chops to carry the party’s mantle after President Biden, citing her low profile in the administration, her well-publicized stumbles with the media, and the rough-and-tumble political environment, according to a report.
“Every fiber in my body wants her to be president; everything I’ve ever fought for is for someone like her to be president,” a South Carolina Democratic strategist told the Washington Post.”

Yep, the knives are out for Harris as well.

**
At a Democrat fundraiser in New York on Tuesday, Biden described a threat worse than nuclear war — and that is climate change.
“We’re finding ourselves in a situation where you talk about this party (Republicans) denying the existence of climate change, that (it’s) not true,” Biden said.

OBSERVATION – Climate change has been ongoing throughout the history of earth. Only more govt can prevent it /sarc.

CW2/Domestic violence –

Much of the anger over the death of Tyre Nichols has faded and few protests continue. This is due largely to the fact that it was Black officers involved and not whites.

However, observers of the violent leftists indicate that the Nichols riots ignited a desire and planning to go further in their anti-police efforts in the future – and are looking for a suitable catalyst event.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Once upon a time the contents of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop were deemed akin to Russian “disinformation” by former law enforcement and national security authorities, candidate Joe Biden, and the media regurgitating the party line on Biden’s behalf. Anyone with an ounce of sense could see the party line a fairy tale, to put it kindly.

Now lawyers representing Hunter Biden seek criminal investigations of those involved in the dissemination of the materials for “making public restricted private information; accessing and disseminating stolen property; and making false statements to Congress[,]” as the Washington Post puts it in its story on the new Biden campaign. One of the letters quoted by the Post acknowledges the contents of the laptop as Hunter Biden’s. “This failed dirty political trick directly resulted in the exposure, exploitation, and manipulation of Mr. Biden’s private and personal information,” the letter says.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/02/battle-of-the-bulge-biden-style.php

OBSERVATION – Basically they are admitting that 1) the laptop is real and not a “Russian” fabrication, 2) the content found on the laptop is real and not a fabrication. Can’t really see that this will end well for the bidens

Strategic Activity / Deployments –

Marine Corps recruiters are sending out texts to former members who left active or reserve duty over the COVID-19 vaccine mandate asking if they would like to rejoin now that the secretary of defense has overturned the mandate, screenshots of the texts obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show. “No direct authorization was given for these messages,” Jim Edwards, deputy director of communications at Marine Corps Recruiting Command, told the DCNF. “It was individual Marines taking initiative to share information that former Marines may not have been aware of.”

OBSERVATION – As an Army veteran, I cannot see any serviceman/woman in ANY branch accepting such an offer. The govt has proven itself not to value the military and has used the men and women serving as pawns in a political and medical tyrannical scheme to reduce the morale and combat effectiveness of the military. The leadership at nearly ALL levels deliberately screwed the people – those who sought exemptions to those who got the jab (wonder what the ‘suddenly’ stats are for the military run?).

China –

China’s military conducted mock missile strikes on Taiwan and practiced antisubmarine warfare in the Taiwan straits on Wednesday. Taiwan’s defense ministry said 34 Chinese aircraft and nine warships participated in the drills, of which 20 Chinese warplanes crossed the median line in the straits. Taiwan responded by scrambling fighter jets, activating its missile batteries, and placing its navy on alert.

OBSERVATION – China intrudes into Taiwan’s ADZ on a daily basis – so the fact that I don’t report on a daily basis is not evidence of absence of Chinese actions. This latest round was interpreted as a mock strike operation based on the mix of aircraft and coordination with surface vessels. These actions are going to get more frequent and likely larger the closer China gets to launching any kind of action against Taiwan.

North/South Korea –

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. would increase deployments of advanced weapons to the Korean peninsula in response to the growing nuclear threat from North Korea. Secretary Austin and South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup agreed to expand combined military exercises, including the resumption of live-fire exercises.

RELATED
North Korea has stated that they will Forcefully Respond to any further moves by the U.S or Allies in the Region, they further started that the Response could include a “Overwhelming Nuclear Retaliation”. North Korea says the situation has reached an extreme red-line due to the reckless military moves by US and it’s allies – KCNA

MORE RELATED - US Air Force B-1B Lancers and F-22 Raptors conduct air drills with South Korean F-35A Lightning IIs over Yellow Sea on Feb. 1.

OBSERVATION – NK defining additional SK-US military exercises as the ‘red line’. This latest actions by the US to deploy more advanced weapons to SK would apparently fall close to NK red lines as well. The question is does NK currently have the will to commit to such an act?

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia’s “three days to conquer Ukraine” war continues since fighting starting on Feb 24th.

********

NUCLEAR THREATS –
The State Department said Russia is violating the New START Treaty by refusing to allow on-site inspections of Russia’s nuclear arsenal. A State Department official said there is a clear path to re-compliance with the treaty, but Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said it was difficult to address U.S. concerns due to the extremely hostile line taken towards Russia.

RUMINT-
Some are saying that Russia has amassed 300,000-500,000 troops in the Ukraine area of operations set to kick off an offensive on Feb 24th -the anniversary of the start of the ‘special operation’ . Much speculation as to strategic objectives beyond the capture of the Donbas. Some say a renewed push in northeast Ukraine in the Sumy Oblast towards Kyiv. Others say northward into Zaporizhzhia Oblast from the south.

These numbers appear to be related to claims of a ‘stealth’ conscript mobilization beyond the one putin called for last year. That mobilization was fraught with confusion and equipping issues. It is hard to see an additional mobilization (again as big as the known one) with out similar issues.

I suspect that Russia’s numbers are inflated by Ukrainian intel as a propaganda move to get western arms and munitions in country sooner, rather than later. This would represent an army at least twice the size of the forces that invaded nearly a year ago. There is no way the armor/tanks for such a beast could be hidden as well.

Logistics –
Russia reported that they had 2,600 tanks available at the time of February 2022 invasion of Ukraine. There was visible evidence that nearly 1,600 were lost during the first few months of the invasion. While 924 were destroyed, another 664 were damaged and abandoned. Most of these tanks were undamaged and captured intact after their crews abandoned them. On both sides, many of these tanks eventually became unusable because they did not have replacement parts for them.

Because of the heavy losses, Russia began to use its tanks in more a direct fire artillery manner. Firing HE is less accurate the farther away the target is. That means a 125mm HE shell fired at a maximum range will land up to sixty meters from where it was aimed. The 125mm accuracy problem was confirmed in 2018. That was when the Russian army conducted tests to measure the effectiveness of HE shells fired from the smooth bore 125mm guns tanks are equipped with. The test results recommend against tanks using HE shells. The ones on hand were not discarded but no new ones were manufactured.
Russian tanks in Ukraine appear to have used about 100,000 of these shells and in doing so discovered another problem. These shells caused barrel wear on the 125mm tank gun liners. These liners are common in tank guns and tube artillery. It’s cheaper to replace a worn-out liner than to replace the entire barrel and attached loading mechanism. Tube artillery barrel liners are good for 5,000 to 6,000 shells fired.

On Russian tanks Russian tanks can have their liners replaced but it happens so infrequently that the process is not simple. It involves removing the turret from the tank to replace the liner. This can only be done in one special facility and that means putting the entire tank on a train flat car and shipping it to the facility and then shipping it back. This meant that most of the Russian tanks with worn barrel liners were useless except as machine gun-armed vehicles. the liner wears out after about a thousand shells are fired.

https://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htatrit/articles/20230202.aspx

NOTE- This has become a critical issue for Russian tube artillery because the quality of the steel is so poor that they are wearing out at a faster rate than would normally be expected. In addition to poor accuracy, catastrophic failures of the gun increase.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Temperatures will remain around freezing with an increase in snow. Long term temperature forecasts suggest that the ground may be starting to achieve temperatures to maintain frozen state for longer periods.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Russia is throwing ‘fresh’ troops into the fight around Bahkmut and forcing Ukraine to grudgingly give up terrain. Most recent Russian assaults are on a line northward from Bahkmut towards Svatove with the center of mass in the Kreminna area.

Some OSINT and other analysts are reporting that there are indicators of a large Russian offensive set to kickoff in the Kreminna region. Artillery cover and air activity increased with Russian SOF and the 76th Air Assault units on the move. This however has long been in the pipeline and is likely a localized offensive. I’ve noted that this area has seen a gradual build up of Russian forces since putin initiated the latest mobilization. The Kreminna – Svatove line is critical for Russia because key logistics lines pass thru it towards the northern flank of their attempted Donbas campaign.

“Ukrainian intel estimates Russia now has more than 320,000 soldiers in the country — roughly twice the size of Moscow’s initial invasion force. Western officials and military analysts have said that Moscow also has 150,000 to 250,000 soldiers in reserve”

OUTLOOK ——
Trying to digest the many cups with tea leaves out there. I find it hard to accept that Russia has pulled that many soldiers into active duty and stealthily placed them into position. I can’t believe that they managed to equip them with the thousands of tanks and armored vehicles given the shortages the forces have been facing over the past few months – and adequately trained them to use them.

I do see and agree with some OSINT analysts that the Russian tactics of the past few month of trying to overwhelm Ukrainian positions through human wave attacks that bear similarity to Russian tactics from WW2 may well be in their plans for their upcoming offensive. They have very little time remaining to train their forces to be capable of combined arms warfare, thus forcing them to resort to brute force.

Timing and focus of the offensive will be critical as well. I still think it is not probable that they will make another run towards Kyiv either via Suma Oblast or Belarus. The focus will likely be the front from Svatove southward to Donetsk, with the biggest pushes in the Kreminna, Bahkmut and Donetsk regions. There may be a supporting attack out of the south, but one has to remember that Russia is paranoid about losing Crimea.

How soon will Russia try to kick it off? Some say end of the month – in collusion with the 1 year anniversary of the war. Others note that putin has put a March 31st deadline on the capture of the Donbas. If Russia waits too far into the spring, they will seemingly run into the same problems they had during the initial invasion – contrary soil conditions for cross country maneuver. With Ukraine’s much improved capability to strike logistics lines and Russia’s reluctance to lead with armored units, foot soldiers become the only alternative.

So if Russia has been able to mass that many soldiers and sustain them (again a continuing problem) even lacking armor, they would be a significant threat but one that at this stage may not be capable of securing the Donbas before any preemptive Ukraianian offensive or counter offensive.

On the Ukrainian side of the ledger, they need longer range weapon systems and a heck of a lot more artillery systems and ammo. Even with all the Russian losses, Russia still has an advantage in tubes and can mass fire in specific locations. By many counts, Ukraine has more tanks now than what they began the war with, important because it is many months before western tanks can reach combat in numbers with trained crews to effect the battle. Ukraine will face similar terrain issues as Russia, but they are playing on their home field and likely have better knowledge of the terrain than Russian forces.

Indicators will be everything – much like it was last year and the next few weeks will be critical to solidly identify these indicators from behind the smokescreen of propaganda and misdirection by both sides.

Belarus -

Russian activity continues to be that of training in central and western Belarus with no indicators of any kind of build up on the Ukrainian border as there was last year before the start of the war.

.
Europe / NATO General –

Czechia president-elect General_Pavel: Ukraine “morally and practically” ready to join NATO once war is over. Sending planes to Ukraine is “not taboo”, but prob not helpful in time it would take to do it. Putin “could end war today”. But “no sign” Russia wants peace.
Also - Czechia has reduced its Russia gas imports from 97 % to just 4 % in 2022

**
Austria is expelling four Russian diplomats for behaving in a “manner inconsistent with international agreements”

**
Austria and Hungary have agreed not to send weapons to Ukraine, Austrian Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner and her Hungarian counterpart Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky said on Jan. 30, cited by Euractiv.

Israel –

Russia has warned Israel against supplying weapons to Ukraine.

OBSERVATION – This warning comes along with other warnings on Israeli actions in Syria against Russia’s new BFF Iran. Russia and Israel have had a kind of under the table agreement to make sure Russian elements are not targeted in Israeli airstrikes and that included Russia forcefully if necessary keeping Iranian/Hezbollah assets and facilities far enough away from Russian positions so they would not inadvertently get hit. That agreement appears to be increasingly coming unraveled.

**
In response to the rocket launch from Gaza into Israel earlier today, IDF fighter jets struck a production site for raw chemical material production, along with a weapon manufacturing site belonging to the Hamas Terrorist Organization.

OBSERVATION - The IDF holds Hamas responsible for all terrorism activity emanating from Gaza because they are the defacto rulers of the territory.

Lebanon -

Country is facing a 90% depreciation of its currency in the coming days. This will only further the economic woes and civil unrest.

Saudi Arabia –

Syria -

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan -

Turkey -

Turkey’s President Erdogan threatened to make the US pay a price for what he claimed unfulfilled promises on fighter jets, vowed to make an alliance with Russia, Iran, and Syria to bring peace in the region.

OBSERVATION – NATO’s bad boy, Turkey may well be pushing to have itself sidelined by NATO. Only reliable as a partner nation when it sees fit. And for Bible prophecy watchers, Turkey’s alliance with “Russia, Iran, and Syria to bring peace in the region” has strong connections to Ezekiel 38.

**
Turkey: The UK and a number of other European Embassies are reportedly suspending consulate activities due to intelligence of terrorist attacks. Precautions and vigilance required.

OBSERVATION – No specific culprit identified, but highly likely Iran given how it has been hit on several sides recently.

Black Swans

Been monitoring reports that chicken feed may have been contaminated in a way that has stopped chickens from laying eggs. A lot of subjective views, but short of actual chemical analysis of the feed to confirm this. With everything that is going on today, such an attack is no longer unthinkable, but needs real investigation and not just repeating of rumors.

A related – the burning down of a major egg producing center has raised the idea of a deliberate assault on our food supply. One must note that this is about the 96th event in the past couple years projected upon tens of thousands of food supply/processing facilities across the nation.

The big bru-ha-ha over the Chinese balloon is all over the nets. What a clown circus in the pentagon over it.

Globalism / Great Reset –

In a recent article in the UK medical journal, Lancet, the argument is made for “One Health,” a term described by Breitbart as a “‘revolutionary shift of perspective’ away from human-centered health care in favor of ‘ecological equity’ attributing equal value to all life” (emphasis original). What does this mean?

Well, One Health is “an integrated, unifying approach that aims to sustainably balance and optimise the health of people, animals, and ecosystems,” because “the health of humans, domestic and wild animals, plants, and the wider environment (including ecosystems) are closely linked and inter-dependent.” This is in contrast to the “traditional” approach which is supposedly “purely anthropocentric,” meaning humans are the primary focus of medical concern.
Based on the view that “all life is equal, and of equal concern,” One Health proponents believe we need a “complete change to our relationship with animals,” including shifting to a plant-based diet, which they say, “not only benefits human health, but also animal health and wellbeing.”

OBSERVATION – Embedded in this insane article is the globalist demand that we give up eating meat and graze on veggies. It deliberately lowers the position of man in the world and inspires a plan to essentially equalize man to the world, rather than have dominion over it, instead, “all life is equal, and of equal concern.”

According to official figures released by the Government of New Zealand, the sland suffered 2,169 excess deaths in 2021 and then a shocking 5,286 excess deaths by week 49 of 2022.
This means New Zealand suffered a shocking 3,203% increase in excess deaths in 49 weeks throughout 2022 compared to 53 weeks throughout 2020.
The figures have been provided to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) Government of New Zealand. So these aren’t independent estimates. They are official Government-authorized figures.

OBSERVATION – Medical tyranny now coming back to haunt New Zealand (who’s PM resigned during the Davos meetings last month). Note, this trend is being seen globally where the mRNA based jabs have been administered. “Pure Bloods” are not dying “suddenly”.

Wuhan virus –

Project Veritas on Thursday released a new segment of undercover footage of Pfizer director Jordon Walker in which the Director of R&D within the company’s mRNA operation expressed concern over how the COVID-19 vaccine may be affecting women’s reproductive health.
“There is something irregular about the menstrual cycles. So, people will have to investigate that down the line,” Walker told an undercover journalist he thought he was on a date with.

OBSERVATION – Impacts to women’s reproductive health have been noted early on – particularly spontaneous abortions/miscarriages. This just confirms the fact that Pfizer was aware of it too – and did nothing about it in order to keep profiting from it.

Economy –

Commodities strategists at Morgan Stanley told clients this week that they expect Brent crude oil to rise to about $110/barrel by summer 2023. This is about 30% increase from this week’s prices, which will push inflationary pressure across the U.S. economy

OBSERVATION – Much of this rise is anticipated to be the result of China getting through its wuhan production slowdowns and nearly doubling its import requirements by summer. This equates to roughly gasoline at over $4/gallon again..

**
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva proposed a BRICS currency for international trade. “If it were up to me, we would always trade with other countries in national currencies, so as not to be dependent on the dollar. Why not make an attempt to create a common currency for MERCOSUR [South American Trade Bloc] countries or for BRICS countries?”

OBSERVATION – Been monitoring BRICS development for a while now. Set up as an alternative trading block to counter US dominance, its growth has taken off the past year in part due to sanctions against Russia and Russia’s efforts to get around those sanctions. Others, like China, see it as a means to prepare for economic combat against the US.

U.S. employers added a robust 517,000 jobs in January in a sign of a still-strong labor market despite Fed rate hikes.

RELATED - The productivity of U.S. workers saw its biggest annual decline in 2022 in nearly five decades.

Nonfarm labor productivity—a measure that compares the output of goods and services to the number of hours worked—dropped 1.5 percent in the final three months of the year when compared with the year-earlier period. Apart from worse declines earlier in 2022, this was the biggest drop in four decades.

OBSERVATION – Aspects of the labor market are still showing mixed signals with some big companies down sizing while other sectors are still struggling to get caught up following the wuhan lockdowns.

POLITICAL FRONT –

The US House of Representatives voted on Thursday to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The vote was approved along party lines, 218-211.

OBSERVATION – this action resulted in a shortage of popcorn as the rabid leftists raged on about how evil the action was, but I guess she/they found out didn’t they when the tables are turned.

Strategic Activity / Deployments –

The U.S. is tracking a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that has been spotted over U.S. airspace for a couple days, but the Pentagon decided not to shoot it down over concerns of hurting people on the ground, officials said Thursday. The discovery of the balloon puts a further strain on U.S.-China relations at a time of heightened tensions.

U.S Intelligence Officials have stated that Chinese High-Altitude Surveillance Balloons have been appearing over U.S Territories like Hawaii and Guam for several years now but that many Defense and Government Officials turned a “Blind Eye” till now.

OBSERVATION – biden and the pampered princes (and princesses) in the pentagon are absolutely worthless – as is their reason for not shooting this thing down. A very simple note – central Montana has a population density of one person per multiple miles. That thing could come down and only disrupt the grazing of antelope and deer for crying out loud.

Meanwhile, I’ve encountered may skulls full of mush on the interwebs who don’t know what is so important in Montana. I give them 150 reasons – Minuteman III nuclear tipped missiles throughout central Montana.

China –

See balloon above.

North/South Korea –

North Korea reportedly will send policemen to the occupied Donbass as workers, and also military, a South Korean news report says. Their exact number is unknown, but there are likely 300-500 security forces who will arrive in Donbas in February or March.

Vladimir Putin has ramped up the rhetoric against the West, saying he is prepared to use ‘more than just tanks’, after feeling ‘threatened’ by NATO’s military package to Ukraine.
Putin also appeared to aim a threat at the US as he insisted Russia has ‘friends all over the world, including on the American continent’ - a carefully worded reminder that the Kremlin can still count on the likes of Cuba and Venezuela as allies.

OBSERVATION – Most recent of the multiple threats directed against the US and the west by putin.

Russian Personnel Issues –-
- North Korea will send policemen to the occupied Donbass as workers, and also military, a South Korean news report says. Their exact number is unknown, but there are likely 300-500 security forces who will arrive in Donbas in February or March.

- The number of Russian troops killed and wounded in Ukraine is approaching 200,000, according to American and other Western officials - New York Times
NOTE – for scale, this means that every Russian soldier that took part in the initial invasion have been killed or wounded, and then some. A very rough estimate is 50,000 killed alone.

- Wagner Group has apparently seen substantial drops in recruitments from prisons, some explaining the fact that they used human wave style attacks with high mortality rates souring the prisoners views on signing on.

Ukraine -
WEATHER FORECAST – Temperatures will remain around freezing with an increase in snow. Long term temperature forecasts suggest that the ground may be starting to achieve temperatures to maintain frozen state for longer periods.

24 HOUR ROUND UP –
Russia continues to press ground attacks along the line from Kreminna southward towards Donetsk, with only minor localized gains reported. Observers are noting that with the withdrawal of Wagner forces, more ‘conventional’ Russian military tactics are being used.

Interesting note of increased and persistant Russian artillery strikes north-northeast of Kharkiv and further north along the Sumy Oblast/Russian border. Both areas are rumored to potentially be included in any Russian offensive action.

Very little Russian artillery activity opposite Zaporizhia Oblast LOC.

OUTLOOK ——
Who’s going to do what, where first? It seems that Russia may hold the edge in getting their offensive started first, but they continue to severely bleed units in eastern Ukraine. If Russia is massing troops for an immanent invasion, they will be forced to marshal those forces wall away from the front due to Ukraine’s HIMAR threat. Dispersion closer to the front also fraught with problems ranging from huge OPSEC threats to, yes even more HIMARS strikes if they get too careless. Plus a higher risk of desertion.

“‘revolutionary shift of perspective’ away from human-centered health care in favor of ‘ecological equity’ attributing equal value to all life” (emphasis original). What does this mean?

It means a million bacteria out vote the human they made sick.

Mob rule democracy raised to its ultimate goal.
