A Fascist Wonders Why Gun Owners Buy 1.3M More Firearms In October
Outdoor Life ^ | November 26, 2009 | John Haughey

Posted on 11/26/2009 9:29:35 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

According to AmmoLand.com, data released by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,233,982 NICS Checks in October 2009, a 4 percent increase from the 1,183,279 reported in October 2008. So far that is roughly 11,403,417 gun bought this year.

The total is probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time.

"This latest jump in background checks show that Americans are solidly in-favor of keeping firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens," Ammoland reports in an no-byline article. "This clearly shows that the Obama Administration’s OK to proceed with a United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, that could be an end run on our 2nd amendment rights, is in direct opposition to his claim that he supports the 2nd amendment. That is like saying I support the right to free speech as long as it is censored.

For more, go to: http://www.ammoland.com/2009/11/04/gun-owners-buy-1300000-guns-in-opposition-to-obama-arms-trade-treaty/

Of course, Josh Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence is pretty much saying just that -- I support the right to free speech as long as it is censored -- in his bizarre blather, What is the 'Message' Behind Increased Gun Sales?, published by huffingtonpost.com on Nov. 5.

How dangerously deluded is Horwitz? He justifies abrogating your Constitutional rights for all Americans because of what one or two deranged loons might do.

He asks three strange questions. His answers are belied by the questions themselves:

-- "Do you believe that the Second Amendment provides individuals with a right to shoot and kill government officials when they deem our government has become 'tyrannical'?

-- "If one or two individuals who believe our government is 'tyrannical' are not enough, how many individuals does it take to make political violence against our government legitimate?

-- Finally, how would the NRA define government 'tyranny'? Does having to live with health care reform that one disagrees with constitute being 'attacked by politicians'?"

1st question - Yes.

2nd question - As many as is needed to be successful. When all else fails, superior force tends to overtake opposition.

3rd question - Strawman of strawmans. How about the last 50 years of non-representation? I’d say that constitutes tyranny.

In summary - keep it up.

The Marxists are wanting a wake up call. And it will be right on time if they act “stupidly”.

— “Do you believe that the Second Amendment provides individuals with a right to shoot and kill government officials when they deem our government has become ‘tyrannical’?

Unequivocally, YES YES YES!

— “If one or two individuals who believe our government is ‘tyrannical’ are not enough, how many individuals does it take to make political violence against our government legitimate?

I’ll go with several million that have marched, protested, cried out at town hall meetings and the tens of millions more that empathize/sympathize with them but were unable to do so.

— Finally, how would the NRA define government ‘tyranny’? Does having to live with health care reform that one disagrees with constitute being ‘attacked by politicians’?”

When you’re decreeing I must participate in your program or face jail time and fines? I define that as tyranny.

So far that is roughly 11,403,417 gun bought this year.

The real story that everyone seems to miss is that out of this figure, there are millions of NEW guns that have hit the streets and no corresponding surge in gun violence statistics. That's because all these reported sales were to law-abiding citizens.

I like the inexpensive American-made Hi Point C9 9mm pistol. At around $110 brand new, it can't be beat...

I still like the old 1911. 38 special is as small as I like to reload. The old 45/70 in my Contender is a kick. Getting a muzzle break on the 458 Win Mag. Getting too old for the kick.

I really think the number of armed Americans who would kill and put their own life on the line to preserve Second Amendment rights is way under-estimated.

Let’s not put the cart before the horse. First we need a new or at least a restated Declaration of Independence. There needs to be a starting line.

I had to pay $150 for mine, but I do live in California.

Can't get their 40 Caliber here because it isn't on the “approved” list and Hi Point doesn't want to go through all the trouble.

That being said, my S&W Model 29 (44 Magnum) is still my favorite gun.

it’s not just the 2nd that I want to protect. I want the whole constitution restored and the government pruned back to it’s constitutional authorized activities.

Good Idea! How do you make someone that wants to take over to listen to your rights and grievances?

Just bought a Kel-Tec .380 for my CCW. Very nice little tiny pocket pistol. And it’s made in my state (FL). Just one more for my collection!
