I’d blame part of this on the US not being a “Catholic country.” I live in Ohio and knew people who’d never even heard of the Pope until John Paul II died.

You'd think they'd be mentioned in this too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_pornography_laws_in_Japan Japan, along with Russia, are the only two member countries in the G8 that have not outlawed the simple possession of child pornography itself.
