Depending on the timing, she might not have known that her husband would not contest the divorce and default. Even if she knew who he was in default, she could not know whether he would attempt to reopen either before or after final judgment. If there was a chance that he might intervene in the litigation, she ran the risk that Barack Obama Senior would expose her birth certificate fraud in Hawaii. So, even if Obama's mother had already obtained a fraudulent Hawaii birth certificate for Barack Obama, she may have concluded it was too risky to use in the divorce case.

She was evidently avoiding her husband and the relationship that must've thoroughly broken down by the time of the divorce proceeding and it is likely that she would be insecure about trusting him, not knowing whether he would be offended that Barack's Hawaiian citizenship was being used instead of his Kenyan citizenship. She simply could not rely on his silence.

Alternatively, she might not have secured the fraudulent Hawaiian birth certificate until after the divorce case because she was simply unaware of how easy the procedure might be and only learned from her attorney as another Freeper has suggested.

Of course it is also possible that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and that the Kenyan certificate is a counterfeit. It is also possible that no birth certificate was needed or used in the Hawaii divorce case at all.

No, the exception clause or the grandfather clause had to be there because the Framers themselves were not natural born citizens. Why? There was no United States when THEY were born. But for those born after the Constitution was ratified, all they had to do was BE born. Yet without the grandfather clause, the country could not have had a president at all — until a child born after the Constitution was ratified had attained the age of 35. Long time without a president for a new country, no? That’s the reason for the grandfather clause. Nobody alive at the ratification of the Constitution (except a baby 2 minutes old) could possibly be president unless the living people in the country were exempted from having been born in the United States. Remember that there WAS no United States when George Washington was born.

He has never said anything that has been published or recorded about seeing them after the marriage and with the baby.He did speak about seeing the little boy with his grandfather later after Anne returned to the island to go to U of H. There’s a big gap in his memories. Why can’t you all realize that the nationality law tells you who is a natural born citizen by defining who is a citizen at birth?

Date of Registration - August 5, 1961 - Saturday

District Registry Office - August 9, 1961 - Wednesday

So, he’s born the 4th.

Perhaps the 5th was when he was entered in the hospital records.

The 9th would be when he was entered into this supposed Book 44B.

I had a brain freeze (gee at 5000 posts) so it does say it is the District Office of Coast Province, Mombasa, Republic of Kenya. Hmm, now what is and where specifically is this office? Wonder if there is a higher office where this info might also be recorded before it made it’s way to England? Are we still assuming eventually it would be forwarded to Britain depending on Mombasa’s 10 mile/republic/flavor of the week status?

Oh crap. Technically, that document is not a birth certificate. It's more like a COLB. I wish she'd gotten the document designation correct when she filed this. Could be trouble.

Regarding the divorce, BHO mother, Ann, filed for divorce in Honolulu in January of 1964.

The date of this Kenyan Birth Registration is February 17th, 1964.

This seems to support that Anne Dunham, shortly after filing for divorce, had to submit proof of Obama Sr. as being the father of the child. As such, the British government generated this “Certified Copy of Registration of Birth” to support Anne's divorce proceedings.

Again, how interesting that this “Certified Copy” was generated 1 month after Anne filed for divorce.

Immigration law specifically dictates that if ONE parent is not a citizen, then the parent that IS a citizen must have lived in the US for at least ten years, five of which over the age of 16. Ann was only 18 and Obama’s father was not a US citizen.

I have heard that before, but my link does not say any of that. Do you have a link and, if so, which is the most current??
