I have to say that - if you are forthright on this - you are a most rare breed, indeed... A liberal willing to honestly listen.
How to explain it? Perhaps you’re somewhere on that path between 20 and walking towards the 40’s, to borrow from Churchill’s view on politics and ideology... and no, that’s not an attempt to ascertain your age :-).
I’d like to be kept apprised of any developments from your FOIA request. To be frank, I think - if you are as forthcoming with your leftist acquaintences about what you’re doing as you were in your note to starwise - you’ll soon start seeing how few friends you have on that side of the aisle.
Unfortunately, I agree with you on that feeling of a revolution. History tells me that this will come from the left. Whether you consider yourself a leftist or not, please do take care of yourself.
It seems to me, your taking the step of applying for this FOIA will be seen by many of your “peers” as evidence that you’ve gone off the reservation. If things get ugly - and I think there’s a chance they will - you’re going to be a target of opportunity for some leftist brownshirt coward looking to vent rage on a blamed one.

We will never know???? Although inquiring minds should have all the facts on this man that we pay to protect our country. He is being paid out of our pockets and we should have a right to thoroughly check out his background. He is in our hire.
