Obama amputates our nuclear arms

Under President Obama’s new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is “in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” explained Gates, then “the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.”
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

The recent arrest of ten Russian illegal officers targeted against us — a
superb performance on the part of our intelligence and law enforcement
agencies — proves that the Kremlin still looks upon the United States as
the main enemy. Most of the details about these new cases are still
classified by the FBI. One thing is clear, however; this is not just
business as usual — “we spy, they spy.” The Kremlin’s illegal officers have
traditionally been dispatched to enemy countries to form an alternative
presence there, should war break out and force the legal embassies to close;
and to constitute a “homegrown” skeleton of the pro-Moscow governments that
the Kremlin dreamed of setting up in those countries at the end of the war.
In other words, vitally important assignments.
Today, most of the American media seem to find the notion of illegal
officers a joke, calling them spy-novel fantasies, hilariously funny
characters or do-nothing sleepers. No wonder. There are no books on the
subject. The true nature of illegal operations, unique to the Russian
intelligence community, has been an extremely tightly held secret. In 1964 I
became a deputy chief of the Romanian foreign intelligence service, the DIE,
but it was only eight years later that I realized now little I had actually
known — that was when my former KGB adviser, General Aleksandr Sakharovsky,
by then the Soviet Union’s spy chief, gave me supervisory authority over
Romania’s illegal operations.

Illegal immigration is not just about poor workers seeking a better life.
It’s now also about Iran-backed Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists organizing in
Latin America to penetrate the U.S.-Mexico border and generate drug profits
to finance and carry out terrorist attacks against the U.S.
This week, Mexico announced it had arrested Jameel Nasr, the reputed
Hezbollah leader in Latin America, at his home in Tijuana, a stone’s throw
from the border separating that Mexican city and San Diego, Calif.
It looks like the much maligned Rep. Sue Myrick (R.-N.C.) was right.
In a letter criticised by the left, Myrick warned Homeland Security
Secretary Janet Napolitano in June of the collusion between Hezbollah and
the Mexican drug cartels, urging her to establish an inter-agency task force
to “clamp down” on this “national security” threat.

Four bust in ‘dirty bomb’ sale sting

An international police sting at a Pretoria petrol station has netted four
men involved in the sale of a highly radioactive metal suspected to be
destined for use in a dirty bomb.
The high-risk operation by the Hawks’ specialised tactical unit was carried
out yesterday.
Police recovered some Caesium-137 contained in a protective cover, but
admitted they had yet to find a larger device, which was set to be sold on
the black market for R45 million.
CCTV footage shows how undercover members of the Hawks’ organised crime unit
stormed through a Sasol garage, opening fire on the suspects with
semi-automatic weapons, sending terrified customers, motorists and petrol
attendants fleeing.
Within moments of arresting the Mamelodi and Vanderbijlpark men, who are
aged between 35 and 50, environmental officers and a field team of South
African nuclear specialists sealed off the area as they gathered air samples
and conducted tests on the radioactive material.
The lunchtime chaos brought an end to a lengthy police investigation
involving Interpol agents around the world.
Police said they began their investigation after infiltrating a criminal
organisation, which has allegedly been trying to source the highly
radioactive Caesium-137.
Sources said the amount recovered, although small, could have been used in
building a dirty bomb. According to the Wikipedia website, a dirty bomb
combines radioactive material with conventional explosives. It is used to
contaminate the area around the explosion and create terror.
A policeman said the source of the Caesium-137 was unknown and investigators
were going all out to locate the larger device. “We don’t know what these
suspects’ intentions were and we need to find the device quickly,” he said.
Nuclear Energy Corporation of SA spokeswoman, Chantal Janneker, confirmed
the material was Caesium-137, and said there had been no contamination in
the area.
Hawks spokesman, Colonel Musa Zondi, said the four were arrested as they
tried to sell the stolen material which was a sample of a device which was
to be sold for R45 million.
Zondi said the suspects would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on
charges of theft, possession of a radioactive device and violating the
Health Department’s prohibition of handling this material in public. - Own

Kahlili accused the Obama Administration of being naïve. According to him, the American overtures are viewed by the Iranian regime as a sign of weakness, while the Iranian people consider the efforts to engage the regime an act of betrayal against their struggle for freedom.

They will attack Israel, European capitals, and (the) Persian Gulf region at the same time,” said Kahlili in one of his first public appearances to promote his new book “A Time To Betray: The Astonishing Double Life of a CIA Agent inside the Revolutionary Guards of Iran”.
Kahlili said he joined the Revolutionary Guard following the Islamic revolution of 1979, but volunteered to work for the CIA when he became disillusioned with the Khomeini regime after witnessing acts of rape, torture and murder.
Kahlili, arrived at the conference wearing a surgical mask, sunglasses and a baseball cap to conceal his identity. Out of concern for his safety, as well as that of his family inside Iran, his voice was also disguised.
For 10 years, under the code name “Wally,” he relayed the secret operations of the IRGC back to American intelligence, eventually fleeing to the United States. In the aftermath of 9/11, Kahlili reestablished contact with his sources in Iran and began once again providing information to the CIA, according to the Washington Institute.
