Saddened by the wickedness of man, God directs the righteous Noah to build an ark for his family and two of each species of animal.
Together, they ride the ark through 40 days and 40 nights of torrential rains that God unleashes upon the Earth. And when the waters subside, Noah and the animals return to land.
"That seems almost like a fairy story," said archaeologist Randall Price, who is director of Liberty University's new Center for Judaic Studies. "But we believe it was an actual event."
This summer Price, 57, plans to continue on a journey to prove just that as he joins an expedition to Mount Ararat. His team believes that it is there, in Eastern Turkey, where Noah's Ark remains preserved underneath layers of rubble and ice.

Almost as stupid as Lewis and Clark searching for the pacific. Animals did not have the fear of man before the flood. I think there is an answer to your doubts. Why did you buy an Ark kit for your kids if it was STUPID?
Like the Turin thing....no "proof" can ever be found....only construed...which makes some things an ongoing mystery.........forever...
The point of the story is??? A big freak’n tsunami....someplace...at some point in time....
Of course not.
But you have read and understand the story in the Bible, and what God's message to man was.
Many people have a very shallow knowledge of the Bible, and their focus is on the objects, and not the ideas.
For instance (I believe someone already mentioned this), a poll of Americans would probably show that most believe Noah took in 2 of each animal, of every kind.
>> Why do we ..... ignore the point of the story?
Some people get the point, others don’t. Most are drowned in a sea of hatred right now. There’s no saving them. Those of us who adhere to the Messiah’s two commandments are sheltered safely in his ark sailing for his safe harbor. The rest are bobbing aimlessly in a kind of limbo.
Misreading the headline I had a flash of a Virginia man setting off in the new Mitsubishi electric mini-car to search for Noah’s Ark.
The Noah's Ark story in Islam is the exact same story as in our Old Testament.
With modern power tools it took over 300 man-years of labor to build each of the Ark 'replicas'.
