In response to recent articles in mainstream military journals discussing the use of the U.S. Army to quell insurrections on American soil, I offer an alternate vision of the future. Instead of a small town in the South as the flash point, picture instead a score of U.S. cities in the thrall of riots greater than those experienced in Los Angeles in 1965 (Watts), multiple cities in 1968 (MLK assassination), and Los Angeles again in 1992 (Rodney King). New Yorkers can imagine the 1977 blackout looting or the 1991 Crown Heights disturbance. In fact, the proximate spark of the next round of major riots in America could be any from a long list cribbed from our history.
We have seen them all before, and we shall see them all again as history rhymes along regardless of the century or the generation of humankind nominally in control of events. But the next time we are visited by widespread, large-scale urban riots, a dangerous new escalation may be triggered by a fresh vulnerability: It’s estimated that the average American home has less than two weeks of food on hand. In poor minority areas, it may be much less. What if a cascading economic crisis, even a temporary one, leads to millions of EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards flashing nothing but ERROR? This could also be the result of deliberate sabotage by hackers, or other technical system failures. Alternatively, the government might pump endless digits into the cards in a hopeless attempt to outpace future hyperinflation. The government can order the supermarkets to honor the cards, and it can even set price controls, but history’s verdict is clear: If suppliers are paid only with worthless scrip or blinking digits, the food will stop.

My statement was clear enough, the black population is a number of times larger than in the 1965 riots, and that we will see more LA rioting for generations to come.
LA county has about 115,000 fewer blacks than in 1990, and about 900,000 fewer whites, yet about 950,000 more people than in 1990.
I think that we will be seeing more rioting in the future.
But, My Jeep has a 3" suspension lift and is 4WD. If I acted soon enough, I could mow down a crowd and crawl over the bodies, right?
The crowd, of course, seeing a driver that is willing to drive over them, would probably give way a bit right?
It's not all physics - the human factor should be considered. I know this about myself; if it is possible - I'll mow the crowd down. If I'm gonna get my ass whooped anyway, I'm taking some of them down with me.

Somewhere around here I have the video of the first cops fleeing the intersection at ground zero as the riot started, and leaving the victims to the crowds as they were being dragged out of their cars, and their cars attacked.
The cops fled for their lives without lending a hand at all.
I have another piece of video of some suburbanites crouching behind their automobile road blocks, protecting their city street with pistols and baseball bats, as thugs cruised by evaluating them and their defenses.
The whispering, crouching yuppies, said that cops occasionally came by, and that they had to hide their guns from them, it is incredible video.
If you can really grasp the fact that the mob wants to kill you, and the police aren't gonna do a darn thing, then you can more freely "go for it" and get the heck out of trouble.
Of course, if bodies get trapped underneath the vehicle and your progress is stopped, then you may not have a Plan B -- but failure to execute Plan A would have you in the same spot, right?

BTW, you seem angry the black population has substantially increased in the south. You'll have to just deal with it.

I think there is a very -- very -- good chance that in the event of a full societal breakdown, everybody from the yuppies to the ghetto trash, will be taking out anyone in a blue uniform. The cops are a violent gang that wants to come out on top. They are not anyone's friend and I think that will be readily apparent. They won't last long.
Lose power and water and SoCa becomes pretty miserable.
OK, lets say I don't blame them, as if blame would be an issue.
That's what I expect even in Texas.
So what about a 4WD and a little widowmaker?

If this sort of scenario ever occurs, I'm thinking all bets are off. I'm one of the few left (IMO), that will put my safety first.
I just wondered if it was do-able.
What I've learned is, 4WD is good, worrying who I "hurt" is stupid and should be ignored, have a gun for the difficult spots.

I am agreeing with you, I even posted numbers supporting you and pointing out that Texas for instance has almost twice the black population by percentage, as California.
I posted Sowell pointing out that the more educated and well off whites and black have been fleeing California for many years.

Just out of curiosity, what state are you in?
Of course, many of the worst, like Charley Mason, Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Schwarzenegger etc., etc, are all imports.
I wouldn’t expect cops to flee in Texas or most anywhere else, and leave the people as they are being murdered right in front of them.
Just because you learn that it happened in LA, does not mean that it is to be expected.
Using your car is fine, and hope that they can’t stop you with road blocks, or take you by surprise like they did Reginald Denny and many others, including those people that the cops drove around to get past them and what was happening to them
Big city mobs can swallow up a person with a pistol, or even shoot back.
