The Differance between the Marine Corps and the US Army
Posted on 06/24/2004 7:35:57 AM PDT by ma bell
This is the differance between the mighty mighty Marine Corps and the obsolete US Army (of course, take the ribbing to heart Army...:) yes, I know, we are part of the Department of Navy, but it is the Mens Department.

The difference I care about can be seen in the difference in what happened in Fallujah and what happened in the Holy Cities in the South. The Army succeeded and the Marines did not.

I know it's not intentional, but this post could easily be interpreted as unconsciously racist.
Do you really want to unwittingly foster that imression of conservatives here?

the marines are no longer a department of the navy but a separate branch unto themselves.
i see two individuals who are proudly serving in the war on terror, one spending time with his young child in tow...
both risking their lives for the protection of mine... i salute them both.

Q: Why did the Navy create the Marine Corps?
A: So they would have someone to dance with!

Put the Army dude in his Class A uniform and you wont be able to make that kind of comparison. All our guys look good in dress.

I have nothing against the proud Marines. What do you have against proud Soldiers?
How successful would any Marine be without supplies being delivered by the Army?

I agree soldiers would look good in a dress, but would they look good in drag too.

No apologies as I've "been put on hold" for deployment US Army Reserve til I clear up a piece of loose bodies in my knee. (i.e too old for re-enlistment into the Marine Corps)
If you served in both, you notice a significant differance between the two.
You people are too serious, this is a light-hearted interservice ribbing, chill out, relax and take a chill pill.

The Army hasn't succeeded yet.
Even though The Marines could have, they chose not to level Fallujah. The Marine Corps chose an option other than violence. They demonstrated the wisdom not to send its troops into a situation where to control the city they would have to kill thousands of civilians.

It doesn't look like it to me. It just looks like they way he is wearing it makes it appear to be smaller in the midsection....

no, army soft cover. at times when they are scrunched up and if the blacks have a "box" for a haircut, they appear that way when worn.
