I had an almond and pecan tree in my front yard that were blown down by a tropical storm a couple of years ago. We replanted with oaks. I noticed this morning that a healthy looking pecan growing back with the oak. I hate to pull it but I'm going to have to. The thing is , we removed the roots. I guess a piece left.

The IR loop? I've kept it open in a separate window for the last 24 hours and just refresh it occasionally.

I just want to stay awake until after that heavy red part passes the lake.

Plus, this thread is so fast, I'm getting scroll vertigo.

Hampton Tunnel, going to Newport News from VA Beach/Norfolk.

Army tank truck (carrying water, fuel, don't know) in a convoy next me that I'm passing has a brake lock up, tire and brake drum, axle, and rear of trailer trailer begin burning. Whole tunnel filled quickly with smoke fumes.

No explosion fortunately.

CNN said that earlier, I think..."total structural collapse" in NOLA. Some folks keep saying "the worst is over" and others are saying it's still getting worse.

"Fairly heavy street flooding in front and behind the Times-Picayune . . . water appears about knee deep,
whipped by the steady wind into whitecaps and breakers. Water is hubcap deep on the furthest vehicles
in the employee parking lot, and rising quickly."

Probably a breach, but not a wall-of-water sized hole...yet.

If they turn out with shoring and sandbags, they stand a good chance of closing it before it opens much further.

Anyone have current windspeeds in downtown NO?
