Now hear this:

Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for 30 days. No non government approved electioneering messages may be transmitted over the internet for the 30 days immediately preceding a primary election.

That is all.

The above exercise was just a drill. But if John McCain has his way with his proposed rules for regulating political free speech on the internet, this is how we will be forced to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future until we can get the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act repealed.

If the thought of losing your right to express yourself online makes you mad, it is high time you let Senator John McCain know how you feel.

I suspect a lot of rears already feel more than a little uncomfortable funny . . . due to Soros and McCain's . . . pointedly traitorous and devilish efforts.

imho, they've been already having far too much of their way with far too many clueless people in our land.

When do you think the next court challenge to McCain-Feingold will happen?

Nope, won't give hollyweird one thin dime.

Ditto

Won't give the TV air time.

Same, I truly despise the box of lies.

While I hope that the Supremes come to their senses and overturn McCain's brainfart, have we considered a "Plan B"? How hard would it be to relocate the site to an offshore server?

It's not worth arguing with them Txsleuth.
:-)

If they don't have the practical SENSE to understand the President is in office three years, while McCain is seeking to become President for eight and WILL be Senator at least five more years...if they refuse to acknowledge there is a difference between making an albeit HUGE mistake vs intentionally seeking to shut down all opposition voices....and fail to understand taking down McCAIN is the priority as a result of these practical differences...well, they will never get it.

They can waste their time trashing someone who made a huge mistake, and add one less voice as a consequence of their preoccupation with him to those that are attempting to stop our real enemy from Arizona. Just pray that one less voice doesn't make the difference in McCain's dream becoming reality.

I've been in Arizona for this winter, and in four months I've met a number of people here who are eager for McCain to retire so they can elect a true conservative and a real leader. There are some soft-spoken Christian people in AZ who have just had it with McCain over CFR and other betrayals of conservatism.

Interesting the complaints about McCain. For some reason I remember another Republican actually signing this bill into law. Could somebody remind me which Republican leader actually signed this bill? I even looked at the Constitution and do you know there's an Article that deals with the powers of this specific politician? Did you know that according to the Constitution this politician could have even vetoed this bill? Frankly I couldn't believe it. I thought somehow the veto power had been taken away from that office, as the politician occupying the office now has never vetoed a single thing. But nope let's get made at McCain eh? Of course my opinion of McCain is about as much as it is for any of the other politicians in Washington, which is not much.

And that is the whole truth of this matter. Voting for lesser of evils still got us evil elected to office. A lessser form? That remains to be seen but it's still evil none the less. Time to send them all back home everyone who voted for it yes including GOP.

Not the thread to really get into it. But I was shocked to check up on that arena after a year or two of not. The progress and the additional information in terms of quality of sources and specifics alarmed even me.

I realize you think that would be an easy thing to do.

There's a good pastor who's been researching that stuff for 10 years. He's had some well connected people (actually an increasing number) come to him with big chunks of solid documentation of all types. He's also visited a number of sites himself. So, I've had to take it off the higher shelves where I was pretending there was nothing to it and realize it's closer to reality than I'd prefer to think in my worst nightmares.

I just share the info on this thread to help motivate people toward doing all they can with their "elected" reps about this hideous bunch of regulations/law.

We have a lot of imported Liberals that left California, migrated to oregon, then migrated further into our state. Our state is pretty much split in half now. Eastern Washington leans conservative, Western Liberal. Seattle/King County trumps our wishes over here.

Thank to the shut down of our radio, and a poorly worded statement on the ballot, we got a gas tax...among other things.

I love my state. But I hate what happens here.

I'm certainly all for doing all we can.

Now and every day in the future.

We are to stand up and be counted.

Wanting to be counted after being mowed down is worse than ridiculous.
